"Where Sin Increased, Grace Overflowed all the More"

Many will agree we are raising children in challenging times.  The secular culture seems to be very pervasive.  Often many families are so busy, prayer seems to lose its place in the home.  Many may become discouraged at such a view of the family or the parish.  Many will ask what will happen to the next generation?

May I humbly share that there is prayer bubbling up in places all around the world among our young people.  To see these children meeting together in little Children's Rosary prayer groups in parishes throughout the United States and now 5 continents, one sees such hope and joy laid before us.  For we know through Scripture that God will not be outdone, "where sin increases, grace overflowed all the more"(Romans 5:20).  Indeed these innocent ones who are still so young have the capacity to draw down such incredible graces both in their hearts but also into their families and parishes.  As children are the heart of the family a strengthening of prayer amongst our young ripples into a renewal of prayer in the family and hence the parish.

We hope that many will prayerfully consider bringing the Children's Rosary to their parishes.

We have many Children's Rosary groups meeting over the upcoming days.  Please consider joining the children in prayer.  The children always pray for those unifying prayers with them.

Hershey Kiss Rosary

Recently we received a message from the Children's Rosary group at St. Patrick's Church in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania USA.  They were celebrating their one year anniversary and had planned a special Hershey Kiss Rosary.  The group leader and her daughter have faithfully held their Children's Rosary group on the third Monday of each month.

One month the group leader wrote that it was just she and her daughter.  Yet they knew that their meeting although small was important.  Indeed they were experiencing a taste of how Our Lord thirsts for souls.  We have also received news from this group of the joys they have experienced and also the children that have been touched who have participated throughout the year.

Indeed there is much to celebrate at the end of a year of meeting.  The many Rosaries prayed together as a Children's Rosary prayer group.  It is also beautiful to contemplate Our Blessed Mother carrying these prayers up to her Son to present to Him.  The prayers especially sweet as they come from the tender hearts of little ones.  It is hard to know the effect these prayers have on the souls of these young children, their families, their parishes and the world.

Receiving these pictures one is also struck by the creativity of children.  They found a clever way of honoring Our Lord through an edible Hershey Kiss Rosary.

Children's Rosary to Air Tomorrow on EWTN Global Catholic Network

We are very excited that EWTN will be airing the Children's Rosary tomorrow October 28th at 4:00 PM ET in  the United States and Canada.  We are very grateful that EWTN has added the Children's Rosary to its monthly programming schedule.

The Children's Rosary can be viewed LIVE streaming from anywhere in the world today at 4:30 PM ET LINK
Many have helped to make these videos a reality.  Children and members from around the world have prayed for the completion and release of these videos as they represent a window into a Children's Rosary prayer group.  Few adults can remember growing up as a child in a prayer group.  Yet children have a large capacity for prayer and have a need for their prayer life to be supported.  We hope that these new videos show the beauty and deep faith that exists in the hearts of children and the simplicity and love they bring to prayer.  We hope many hearts will be touched by the innocence of these little ones.
The new Children's Rosary DVD is now available through EWTN Religious Catalogue along with our whole collection of Children's Rosary materials.  For more information about ordering these materials click HERE.

If you are from another country other than the United States and Canada and would like to have the Children's Rosary air in your country please reach out to EWTN and request it.  They are very responsive to viewer requests.  We also encourage those who enjoy the Children's Rosary to let EWTN know of your feelings.  This is new programming for them and they value the feedback.

Annual Convention of the Children in Pakistan

At the beginning of October an Annual Convention of the Children was held in Fracis-abad, Gujranwala Pakistan.  The Bishop of Lahore attended along with many children and parents from the Province.  The Children's Rosary was invited to participate.  Each day a different Children's Rosary group attended.

The Children's Rosary groups prepared special dances and songs to perform at the event as well as prayers. The children traveled to this Convention with their families.  It gave the children great joy to be a part of such a special event and also help to share their experiences of being in a Children's Rosary prayer group

The girls wearing white and blue dresses were dancing to a hymn of Mother Mary.

The girls wearing white and red presented a tableau on a hymn of Mother Mary before starting the Mass.

The children watching very much enjoyed seeing the different Children's Rosary groups.  Since this event there have been calls coming from different parts of the region with interest in beginning Children's Rosary prayer groups.  It has been beautiful and inspiring to see how the Children's Rosary continues to spread in Pakistan.  There is such a thirst among the children for this special time in prayer.  Many of the groups in Pakistan meet daily to pray the Rosary and often go out to pray with the poor and sick as well as meeting within the Church.

Celebrating with Our Blessed Mother

Recently we received some beautiful notes from several group leaders sharing celebrations they had within their Children's Rosary.  Our Children's Rosary group in Lagos, Nigeria spent months preparing over the summer for a large all day celebration of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary.  They prayed the Rosary, sang and performed dances.  They also baked a beautiful birthday cake for Our Blessed Mother.

The group leader also had a special surprise for the children.  Each child in this group received a mircaculous medal.  The medals were a gift from the Children's Rosary group at St. Thomas Becket Church in Cheshire, Connecticut USA.  Just as the Rosary takes us through the sorrows, joys and glorious events of the life of Jesus so too it is beautiful for the children to experience a celebration with their Heavenly Mother.  This Children's Rosary in Lagos, Nigeria is one of our groups that meets daily.

Gifts

Several members of the Children's Rosary
This past week during our 9 days of prayer and fasting, the Lord has showered a great many gifts down on the Children's Rosary.  I would like to humbly share some of those blessings.  The first 5 days of the fast we spent in San Antonio, Texas.  During those days in San Antonio we met a great many people who interested in helping spread the Children's Rosary.  With members of the Children's Rosary intensifying prayers and also fasting it seemed that many hearts were open to hearing about the Children's Rosary. I would like to share several of the meetings that have happened during the fast.

On our third day in San Antonio, we met a beautiful young blind women in San Fernando Cathedral.  She was very interested in the Children's Rosary and immediately thought of three children she gives singing lessons to at the Cathedral who might be able to help her begin a group.  When I offered to have braille materials sent to her about the Children's Rosary through the Xavier Society for the Blind, she said she could not read braille as her blindness is very new.  My eight year old son and I felt our meeting with her a very special blessing.  She also mentioned that she would be going to a conference in the New Year of cantors from around the country.  She expressed interest in telling those she might meet about the Children's Rosary.  To see such a heart so open to help especially when she was dealing with her recent loss of her sight seemed overwhelming to us. Yet the Lord would continue to show us the charity and love in the hearts of many we would meet on our trip.

Later in the week during Adoration at St. Joseph Church in San Antonio a father approached my son and asking for prayers for his own 11 year old son who he is having trouble bringing to Mass.  We told him we would pray for his son and shared with him about the Children's Rosary.  Indeed it was also a gift to see a father reaching out and asking the children for help and prayers.  We are all broken in some way and we need each other.  To see another soul asking for help especially from a child was very special.

The following day we met a mother of eleven after Mass, she was there with several of her young children.  In talking to her about the Children's Rosary I noticed she was having problems hearing and had her daughter repeat many parts of what was said back to her.  She told me she is going deaf.  I felt an immediate connection to this mom and seeing her daughter helping her, it reminded me of my own daughter who is always helping me as I have a joint disability that prevents me from much use of my hands.

This mother of 11 was very excited to help begin a Children's Rosary in her parish and took some of our materials and also was quick to tell her friends visiting from Sydney, Australia about the Children's Rosary.

The blessings continued as we were flying home to Connecticut.  A kind women sitting next to my son began to talk to him.  We were preparing to land and she mentioned that she had a rare medical condition that leads to progressive loss of sight.  She said prayer really helps. I asked her what type of prayer.  She said the Rosary.  This opened up a conversation about the Children's Rosary and the possibility she might be able to bring this to her parish and grandchildren.

Indeed it would seem that Our Lord was bringing us special gifts all week.  Showing us the many people who have so much to give.  It would seem since the beginning of the Children's Rosary those with disabilities have had a special place.  As founder of the Children's Rosary, I have a disability and many children and group leaders that have been involved with the Children's Rosary have disabilities as well.  No matter what a person's physical, mental ability or age it would seem Our Lord has a beautiful role for them.  Recently we have been in contact with the priest who is in charge of outreach to deaf community in the Archdiocese of Boston.  This priest is also deaf.  We had the special grace of meeting him at the World Meeting of Families and have subsequently been in touch with him.  He is looking into holding a Children's Rosary monthly with the children who are deaf that gather together for catechises in sign language. To imagine a Children's Rosary composed of all deaf children signing the prayers is a magnificent thought to contemplate.  We pray that in the future this will indeed become a reality.

May I humbly thank all of you who have increased your prayers this week and also given sacrifices to Our Lord as part of the International Week of Prayer and Fasting.  As a special thank you a Mass is being offered tomorrow, October 25th, through the Capuchin Missions for all the members of the Children's Rosary and all who help the Children's Rosary.

Thank you all and God Bless!
