Pope Francis to Consecrate the World to the Immaculate Heart of Mary on October 13th

On the Anniversary of the last apparition of Fatima, Pope Francis will consecrate the World to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.  The original Statue of Our Lady of Fatima which was given to the Sanctuary of Fatima in 1920 will be brought to Rome for this special Day.  The crown of Our Lady now holds the bullet that struck Bl Pope John Paul II on May 13th 1981.  

As Pope Francis has asked for Rosaries to be said on the days leading up to the Consecration it is with great joy that we have 7 Children's Rosary groups meeting over the next two days.  Two of the groups will be gathering for their first meeting and will be consecrating their groups to the  Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary.  All of our Children's Rosary groups are consecrated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary in this way they are all under the guidance and protection of Christ and His Mother.

We are so grateful to Our Holy Father for entrusting the world to the Immaculte Heart of Mary.  We continue to pray for him as he leads Our Church here on earth.

Please consider joining the children in prayer of the Holy Rosary either at the Church or from your home.  The children always pray for those unifying their prayers with them.

Memorial of the Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary

On this Grace filled day, consider giving your heart to Our Lady and pleading to God for peace through her Immaculate Heart!!  

Our Lady of Fatima revealed to Bl. Jacinta before her death:

“Tell everybody that God gives graces through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Tell them to ask graces from her, and that the Heart of Jesus wishes to be venerated together with the Immaculate Heart of Mary.  Ask them to plead for peace from the Immaculate Heart of Mary, for the Lord has confided the peace of the world to her.”

Rosary

Today we have the wonderful blessing of having a new Children's Rosary meeting for the first time at Our Lady of Fatima Parish in Hartford, CT.  It would seem to be another example of Divine Providence that a new group would form in a Parish named after Our Lady of Fatima and choose this special day to consecrate their group to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.  

Please consider joining the children in prayer at 4PM ET for the Rosary either at the Church or from your home.  The children always pray for all those unifying their prayers with them.  If you would like to also consecrate yourself to the Immaculate Heart of Mary and Sacred Heart of Jesus, prayers of consecration can be found here.

Masses

A Mass was also requested to be said yesterday and today for the intention: may the Children's Rosary be a reflection of Our Lady and her Son in this world.  An additional Mass was requested to be said today for the intentions of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

First Saturday Devotion

The First Saturday Devotion to Our Lady was revealed to the three children of Fatima.  Our Lady shared with Lucia on June 13, 1917 “Jesus wants to make use of you to make me known and loved.  He wants to establish in the world devotion to my Immaculate Heart.”

The Devotion is in honor of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and is meant to make reparation to it for the sins of mankind.  

This Devotion consists of:

Going to Confession(The confession may be made under the usual condition of 8 days before or after Holy Communion, provided the person is not in a state of mortal sin when he receives Holy Communion)

receiving Holy Communion

reciting 5 decades of the rosary

spending 15 minutes with Our Lady meditating on the mysteries of the Rosary.

All of these are to be done with the intention of making reparation to her.

Our Lady promises that as the Mediatrix of All Graces that at the hour of death, all graces necessary for salvation will be given to those who faithfully practice this devotion for the First Saturday of any five consecutive months.

On June 13, 1929 Lucia saw Mary holding her Immaculate Heart with swords piercing it.

“There are so many souls whom the Justice of God condemns for sins committed against me, that I have come to ask reparation.  Sacrifice for this intention and pray.”

Devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary

On Dec 10th 1925 The Blessed Mother and Christ the Child appeared to Sister Lucia (one of the children of Fatima).  The Christ Child spoke first: "Have pity on the heart of your Most Holy Mother.  It is covered with thorns with which ungrateful men pierce it at every moment, and there is no one to remove them with an act of reparation."

Holding in her hand a heart encircled with sharp thorns, Our Lady then said : "My child, behold my heart surrounded with the thorns which ungrateful men place theirein at every moment by their blasphemies and ingratitude. You at least try to console me.  Announce in my name that I promise to assist at the hour of death with all the graces necessary for salvation, all those who, on the first Saturday of five consecutive months, go to Confession and receive Holy Communion, recite the Rosary, and keep me company for a quarter of an hour while meditating on the mysteries of the Rosary, with the intention of making reparation to me". 

Pope Pius XII, on October 31, 1942, personally consecrated the world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.  Shortly after, he instituted throughout the universal Church the Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, which is celebrated everywhere in the world  on the Saturday after the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Immaculate Heart of Mary, full of love for God and mankind, and of compassion for sinners, I consecrate myself entirely to you. I entrust to you the salvation of my soul. May my heart be ever united with yours, so that I may hate sin, love God and my neighbor, and reach eternal life together with those whom I love.

Mediatrix of All Graces and Mother of Mercy, remember the infinite treasure which your Divine Son has merited by His suffering and which he has confided to you for us, your children. Filled with confidence in your motherly heart, and for the sake of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, obtain for me the favor I ask: [Mention your request here].

Dearest Mother, if what I ask for should not be according to God's will, pray that I may receive that which will be of greater benefit to my soul. May I experience the kindness of your intercession with Jesus during life and at the hour of my death? Amen.

This year the Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary falls on Saturday June 16th 2012.  In preparation for this Holy Feast it is a wonderful practice to say a 9 day novena leading up to the Feast.  Although saying a 9 day novena to the Immaculate Heart of Mary is a wonderful idea anytime of the year.

The children's rosary humbly asks that you prayerfully consider adding our intention to your novena.  We all thank you!!

MAY THE CHILDREN’S ROSARY, THEIR FAMILIES, THOSE ASSOCIATED WITH THE CHILDREN’S ROSARY INCLUDING OUR PRIESTS, OUR BISHOP AND OUR HOLY FATHER THE POPE BE THE EXTENDED HANDS OF OUR BLESSED MOTHER AND HER SON.  MAY WE GATHER A GREAT MANY SOULS ESPECIALLY YOUNG PEOPLE FOR THE LORD.  MAY WE EXPERIENCE RENEWAL OF FAMILY PRAYER AND SPREAD IT ACROSS THE GLOBE. IN A SPECIAL WAY WE ASK THE HOLY SPIRIT TO GUIDE EACH ONE OF US ACCORDING TO THE WILL OF GOD.

To become a member of the children's rosary one only has to tell the Lord in their heart of their desire to be a part of our group.  You will then be included in all the novenas being said and all of the rosaries being prayed daily.
