Anniversary Novena of Masses begins on April 1st 2020

The ninth anniversary of the first meeting of the Children's Rosary is on April 10th 2020. We have made it an annual tradition to offer a novena of Masses for the 9 days prior to the anniversary for the fulfillment of Our Lady's plans for the Children's Rosary. We then follow this with 9 days of Masses in thanksgiving. As our anniversary falls on Good Friday we will not be able to have any Masses said on that day. Rather we will have Masses celebrated from April 1st through the 9th. This will be followed by 9 days of Masses in thanksgiving starting on April 11th. The support for this effort has always been strong and for the past several years we were able to have three Masses offered on each of the 18 days. We have been able to arrange two daily Masses during each of the 18 days of the novena. Even as Churches are closed, priests we have visited in East Africa are helping to say these Masses privately. We hope to set up even more Masses during these 18 days.

"We offered our rosary for the children who receive them"

We received a package this week from a 5th grade faith formation class from St. Joseph Church in Hastings, Minnesota USA. The note read:

Enclosed are 7 rosaries our faith formation class is sending you for our "service project" this year. We are 5th graders and have learned how to pray the rosary on these beads. We offer our rosary for the children who receive them. Thank you for your ministry. God bless you.

We were very excited to receive this box. We will be including these rosaries in the packages we send out to new Children's Rosary groups.

We encourage other faith formation classes who would like to do a service project to send rosaries to the Children's Rosary. It is a fun activity to learn how to make a rosary and then send it to be shared with another child. Offering prayers as these children did to accompany their rosaries was an added gift!!

Thank you all

Feast of the Annunciation: March 25th 2020

The Children's Rosary has a little gift for all the members.  A Mass was offered for all the members of the Children's Rosary today.  This is something we do on the 25th of every month.

We also wanted to feature one of the drawings we received as a gift during our trip to East Africa this past summer. The picture shown was given to us by Ggay Simon, age 10, who is a student at Uganda Martyrs School in Uganda.

As today is March 25th we are exactly 9 months from Christmas!  A few years ago a member of the Children's Rosary shared with us a 9 month novena that begins on the Annunciation and ends on Christmas. It is called the Nine Month Novena for Impossible Requests. We included it on the Children's Rosary website a few years ago.  We are including the prayers again. Maybe you would like to bring some special intentions to prayer leading up to Christmas.

This is a daily novena to be said for nine months, beginning with the Annunciation (March 25) and ending on Christmas Eve.

You may pray for up to three intentions. ------------------------------------------------

Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness, and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve.
To thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn, then, most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy towards us,
And after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.

Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God,
That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

O Virgin of the Incarnation, a thousand times we praise thee, a thousand times we greet thee, for the joy thou didst know when the Son of God took flesh in thy womb.
Because thou art powerful, O Virgin Mother of God, grant what we beseech thee, for the love of God.

(Here name your three intentions).

Remember, O Most Gracious Virgin Mary,
That never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection,
Implored thy help, or sought thy intercession, was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful.
O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions,
But in thy mercy, hear and answer me.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

May the heart of Jesus, in the Most Blessed Sacrament, be praised, adored and loved with grateful affection, at every moment, in all the tabernacles of the world and in the hearts of all men, even until the end of time. Amen.

Unite with Us in Prayer!

Due to the spread of the Coronavirus many may be at home unable to attend school or work. Churches in many places are closed such as in our Archdiocese of Hartford, Connecticut USA. To limit the spread of the virus we are encouraged to stay away from others in the community. Yet in prayer we can remain united. We would like to humbly ask for your help. Please unite with us in prayer. While we are in our homes let us make these homes like little chapels: each family a Domestic Church. If you have children bring them together to pray the Rosary, read Scripture and simply bring all your worries and concerns to Our Lord. Before you begin praying please visit www.childrensrosary.org click the button: Join in Prayer. This will add a gold blinking light for 30 minutes on our View from Heaven Map. One of my children came over excitedly to tell me that there was a light in Gadsden, Alabama as we were praying. It does not matter if you are a single person praying or a family. Join us in prayer. You can be praying the Rosary or quietly meditating. Your choice of prayer is your own. We simply invite you to unify and let others be united with you on our View from Heaven map.

Add your light and illuminate our dark world in prayer at www.childrensrosary.org

We have a video which helps to depict the idea behind the View from Heaven map.

Mass Offered for Seminarians on March 1st 2020

A Mass was offered today for all seminarians that they will grow in holiness and lead us all in love. Every month we have a Mass offered for this intention. As our seminarians will be the future shepherds and our children are the future flock, it seemed a beautiful way for the children to help.

Last month a seminarian from Paraguay contacted us. He had interest in starting the Children's Rosary in San Lorenzo, Paraguay. He asked for materials to help these efforts. A large box was put together with rosaries and Children's Rosary books in Spanish. This was sent to Paraguay several weeks ago. We eagerly anticipate its arrival.

Thank you to all who continue to send handmade rosaries to us. We also thank those who have made donations to the Children's Rosary that has allowed us to cover the shipping expense to respond to these requests. May God bless you.
