Christmas Cards on Their Way to Kenya

In anticipation of Christmas this year, Children's Rosary groups around the world made cards for their friends in Kenya. The cards, a beautiful reminder of the prayers and love the children cover each other with as they meet in prayer.  Growing up today is certainly not easy but to know that there are others around the world keeping you in prayer is a source of strength as they try to live their faith.
Pictures have been coming in of different groups making their cards.  The children pictured in the top photo are from the Parish of St. Patrick in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania USA.  The three just below the first picture are members of the Children's Rosary at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Waterbury, Connecticut USA.   The picture featured below and to the right are members of the Children's Rosary from three groups in Massachusetts USA.
Seeing the smiles of the children as they write messages that will travel to lands they might never see in person, brings a joy to the heart.  Yet it is our hope that through the season of Christmas these cards will arrive and little hands will hold them and think of the children who made them in very far off places.  Such messages sharing the Peace and Love of Christmas.

One of the destinations of the cards are two groups that meet in the Kibera slums in Nairobi.  They meet weekly as a prayer group.  Another of our groups meets each Monday at Our Lady of Grace Home in Meru, Kenya.  This is an orphanage, home to over 190 children.
Children's Rosary at Assumption Church
We have two large Children's Rosary groups that meet in the Nairobi area, one at Assumption Church and Holy Trinity Church in Nairobi. It is truly a beautiful Christmas story to think of so many children feeling remembered by others this year.

On this Christmas eve in a special way we pray for all the members of the Children's Rosary.  May Our Lord be born in our hearts and may we experience true Christmas joy in our families. Amen.
