Cupcake Rosary

Feast of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary

On the Feast of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary we had a special celebration.  The children processed down the Church and crowned Our Lady. The children's rosary led a rosary followed by the Litany to the Blessed Virgin Mary and consecration prayers to the Immaculate Heart of Mary and Sacred Heart of Jesus.  We had a special speaker Linda Santo who shared her experiences raising her daughter, Little Audrey Santo.  Her daughter is now being considered for canonization by the Catholic Church.

The women's club from our Parish sponsored the refreshments for the event and even made a real cupcake rosary.
Linda Santo and her grandchildren enjoyed the cupcakes, too!

The cupcake rosary was very easy to make it only required:
1) vanilla cupcakes with white frosting
2) sprinkles to be placed on 6 cupcakes
3) a brownie cross or chocolate cake made in a preformed cross shaped pan

This was a special highlight for all the children that came to the event.  Many of them helped lead the rosary.  Seeing the edible rosary was something none of them had experienced before.

A special thank you to the women's Club of St. Thomas the Apostle Church for their support of this wonderful event.  The children may fondly remember this special day and might even find themselves telling their won children about this cupcake rosary many years from now.
