Crowning of Our Lady Queen of the Holy Rosary

On October 7th we had a special celebration to honor Our Lady at St. Thomas Apostle Church in West Hartford CT USA.  The children of the Parish joined together to process down the front aisle of the Church.  They were led by the Knights of Columbus.  The children held handmade rosaries in their hands which were made by children from Santa Maria Del Mar Church in Flagler Beach, Florida.  They also carried white roses to place before Our Lady.

The children processed up the aisle of the Church to the Song "Hail Holy Queen Enthrone Above".
Slowly children made their way to the statue of Our Lady and placed their roses before her.

One of the little girls who is part of the children's rosary, placed a real crown of roses on Mary's head. As she stood before Our Lady with the Crown in one hand and her baby doll in the other one could image Mary smiling from up above seeing her little children coming before her in this way.

The Gospel read that morning still echoed in the minds of many...

"Let the children come to me, do not hinder them; for to such belongs the kingdom of God. Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it." (Mark 10: 14-15)
The Children's Rosary then led the Congregation gathered in the prayer of the Holy Rosary.
