Words from the Children Wednesday

Answering the Question:
Why is the Children's Rosary Important

Recently we introduced a new weekly highlight on the Children's Rosary Blog: Words from the Children Wednesdays. As the Children's Rosary is a prayer movement composed of children and led by children we would like to begin highlighting some of the beautiful feedback we have been getting from the children from our different Children's Rosary groups.

Recently I reached out to the different Children's Rosary groups and asked for their help.  The Children's Rosary had a booth at the Catholic Marketing Network(CMN) Trade Show in New Jersey USA from August 7th-9th.  It was our hope that the children could provide the voice of the movement by creating visuals and phrases to briefly describe WHY THE CHILDREN'S ROSARY IS IMPORTANT.

The pictures have been coming in by mail from all over the country.  They were all so beautiful in their own unique way it seemed like a perfect way to begin our Words From the Children Wednesdays.  More beautiful original artwork to come over the upcoming weeks.  Please if you are a child and would like to submit a picture or message see our contact information and send it in.  We will be featuring them here.

The drawing above was done by Vera age 8 who helped begin a Children's Rosary with her siblings and parents at St. Joseph parish in Adrian, Michigan USA.  This Children's Rosary group, has chosen to hold their monthly Rosary on the First Friday of the month during Adoration.

As we celebrate the Feast of the Guardian Angels today, Vera's picture so beautifully depicted how the angels watch over our children in prayer as they join Our Blessed Mother in prayer of the Holy Rosary.  With these prayers the love of the children for their Heavenly Father floats to Heaven escorted by many angels.  It is a beautiful thought to imagine these angels rising to heaven with these prayers of the children and the love that comes with them.

In the Gospel today we heard the beautiful words of Our Lord who responded to the question put before Him by the disciples,

"Who is the greatest in the Kindom of Heaven?" And calling to Him a child he put him in the midst of them, and said, "Truly I say to you unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the Kingom of Heaven. Whoever humbles himself like this child, he is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven. Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me; See that you do not despise one of these little ones; for I tell you that in heaven their angels always behold the face of my Father who is in Heaven. (Matthew 18:1-5,10)

Who can doubt the beauty and power of the prayers of children.  All the angels must take such delight in such a sight.  Please prayerfully consider trying to help bring a Children's Rosary to your parish.  If you have questions we are more than happy to help.  It may take a few days to respond but trust you are in our prayers.  All the children are praying for your efforts and that this prayer movement will spread.  Questions can be directed to Blythe Kaufman at

God Bless you and may the angels watch over you and protect you from all harm. Amen.
