A Call For Prayers for Our Holy Father

Today the Holy Father announced in Latin that due to advanced age he did not have the strength to continue to carry out his duties.

The Holy Father said "After having repeatedly examined my conscience before God, I have come to the certainty that my strengths, due to an advanced age, are no longer suited to an adequate exercise of the Petrine Ministry. "

An announcement of such importance must have weighed heavily on the Holy Father and required great courage.  Today as we remember Our Lady of Lourdes may we join together in prayer of the Holy Rosary to Our Blessed Mother to guide and protect Our Holy Father and the Church through these days ahead.
