Words From the Children Wednesday

Answering the Question:
Why is the Children's Rosary Important
Last week we introduced a new weekly highlight on the Children's Rosary Blog: Words from the Children Wednesdays. As the Children's Rosary is a prayer movement composed of children and led by children we would like to begin highlighting some of the beautiful feedback we have been getting from the children from our different Children's Rosary groups.

Recently I reached out to the different Children's Rosary groups and asked for their help.  The Children's Rosary will be at the Catholic Marketing Network(CMN) Trade Show in New Jersey USA from August 7th-9th and will have a booth.  As the prospect of creating visuals for the booth seemed daunting and expensive Our Lady brought a wonderful inspiration: ask the children to provide the artwork.  The Children were asked to briefly describe WHY THE CHILDREN'S ROSARY IS IMPORTANT.

The pictures have been coming in by mail from all over the country.  They were all so beautiful in their own unique way it seemed like a perfect way to begin our Words From the Children Wednesdays.  More beautiful original artwork to come over the upcoming weeks.  Please if you are a child and would like to submit a picture or message see our
contact information and send it in.  We will be featuring them here.

The drawing above was done by Emily age 8 who helped begin a Children's Rosary with her younger sister at Our Lady of Fatima Parish in Hartford, CT USA.

Please excuse that this is published on Tuesday but we are all packing up today to head to the CMN Trade show in NJ USA and I was worried we wouldn't have the ability to post it tomorrow.

New Children's Rosary to Meet Today in East Berlin, CT USA

There is a new Children's Rosary meeting for the first time at Sacred Heart Parish in East Berlin, CT.  They will be meeting this morning at 10AM ET.  They will begin the meeting by consecrating the group to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary. Thus the group will be under the protection and guidance of Christ and His Mother. The group has chosen to continue their monthly meetings on the first Saturday of the month as a special gift to Our Lady whose Immaculate Heart is honored on the first Saturday of the month.

If you have any questions about this new group please contact Cheryl at cherylbatter@att.net

Please consider joining the children in prayer either at the Church or from your home.  The children always pray for those unifying their prayers with them.  There is always something so special about the first meeting of a Children's Rosary group.  Each one is such a unique and priceless gift to Our Lord and His Mother.  To bring children who are so dear to Our Lord to Him in a prayer so beloved by Himself and His Mother and then to put them all under the protection of His Sacred Heart and the Immaculate Heart of His Mother is a beautiful thing indeed.

May the graces and blessing of this day cover us all and makes us beautiful instruments of Our Lady and her Son in this world. Amen.

Mass Offered Tomorrow for Renewal of Family Prayer

On the 1 year anniversary of the Children's Rosary we began a prayer initiative to renew family prayer. The children began saying novenas to different saints for renewal of family prayer.  Over 780 nine day novenas have been said each to a different saint. Over 500 Children's Read Aloud Bibles have been given out to families to encourage family prayer.  During each Children's Rosary group meeting the children also pray for renewal of family prayer.  A very special way we are trying to bring back family prayer is by offering Masses for this intention. Many Masses have already been requested and going forward a Mass will be offered on the first Saturday of every month for Renewal of Family prayer.

As Pope John Paul II was fond of saying,  "As the family goes, so goes the nation and so goes the whole world in which we live".

Monthly Mass Offered for Seminarians Today

Seminarians from St. John's Seminary in Boston

As part of our new prayer initiative to pray for seminarians there was a Mass offered today for all seminarians that they may grow in holiness and lead us in love.

Since April all Children's Rosary groups have been praying for the seminarians attending St. John's Seminary in Boston.  We are planning to expand this prayer initiative to include more seminaries.  The most recent addition is Holy Apostle Seminary in CT USA.  Members of the Children's Rosary are also being given the opportunity to choose a seminarian to pray for in their home.  So far we have more children then seminarians participating and hope to continue to grow this initiative.  Recently some of the seminarians we have been praying for in Boston were ordained.  I've included a pictures that was taken during one of the ordinations.
