EWTN Features Children's Rosary Book

We are so grateful to EWTN for their wonderful support of the Children's Rosary.  Fr. Andrew Apostoli, host of EWTN's Sunday Night Prime, has featured the Children's Rosary on his show which has helped tremendously in spreading this new Apostolate. To view the show click HERE.

The wonderful members of EWTN's Religous Catalogue have also beautifully embraced the Children's Rosary.  They carry both the Spanish and English versions of our Children's Rosary book.

Beginning this winter and extending through the Spring EWTN has featured the Children's Rosary on their half hour catalogue show that airs regularly.  They also have been featuring our book in the Children's Section of their Religious Catalogue.

The Children's Rosary books are made by the vocational students at the American School for the Deaf so in every way this movement has children in the center.  The book explains step by step how to begin a Children's Rosary prayer group and can also be used by the children in prayer of the Rosary.

For more information about ordering the Children's Rosary book both in English and Spanish click HERE.

Children In Scripture

There are many beautiful references to children throughout Scripture.  However, sitting at daily Mass on Friday and hearing the Gospel of the multiplication of the loaves and the fishes I realized this indeed is another story in Scripture that underscores the beautify and importance of children.

“There is a young boy here who has five barley loaves and two fish; but what are they among so many?” (John 6:9)

How beautiful is this Scripture verse.  We know that at least 5 thousand men were gathered from the Gospel of Mark 6:44, Luke 9:14 and John 9:10.  This is not counting women or children.  Our Lord asks Philip how they will buy enough to feed them all and then it says, “this He said to test him for He himself knew what He would do” (John 6:6).

Out of the multitude of people, only one person is found to have food.  There could be several explanations for this fact.   The first is that truly this boy was the only one among 5 thousand who had any food that was found.  The second is that the young boy is the only one who was willing to give the food he had.  In either case, it is surely is an important piece to the story.  Even if the former were true and he was the only one with food it shows a wonderful trust and generosity to give that which is so precious and needed.  Such a gift underscores the beauty of a child’s soul. The openness and trust that children have and their willingness to help others.  To see that a child, who falls within a group not even counted among the estimates of those present at the event, supplied the bread and fish that Our Lord would use to feed thousands speaks beautifully to the ways Our Lord works through the small and humble ones.

Indeed it would seem that children’s role in the Church and meeting the needs of so many is crucial. In a time when churches are closing and prayer seems to be far from many,  might our children be the ones to come to our aid, willing to give all they have.  Many might ask what do children have to give?  One of the precious things they have is love and their prayers that in a special way touch the heart of Jesus.

It is my hope that many will consider unifying prayers with our children when they meet in different Children’s Rosary groups across the world.  Further if your parish does not have a Children’s Rosary group, I pray that you will prayerfully consider beginning one.  Our little children have so much to give but they need an invitation or a person who asks for their help just as the disciples did when they asked the boy for his bread and fish.  Thank you all and if I may be of any service to anyone feeling drawn to help this cause or begin a group please feel free to contact me.

Your humble servant,
Blythe

"If you ask anything in my name, I will do it"

"Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I go to the Father. Whatever you ask in my name, I will do it, that the Father may be glorified in the Son; if you ask anything in my name, I will do it" (John 14: 12-14).

Our Lord promises great graces to a soul who trusts in Him and calls upon His name.  Please consider joining our children in prayer over the next several days.  The children in a special way pray for all those who unify prayers with them.  With so many little voices calling upon Our Lord to shower us with blessings, it is a joyous thought to contemplate but such is the beauty of our faith and the prayers of our children.

St. Joseph the Worker

Today the Catholic Church honors St. Joseph the Worker. It is so wonderful to contemplate Joseph working beside Jesus showing him the skills of carpentry.  True to his vocation as father of the Holy Family he worked hard to protect and provide for his family.

Today we are blessed to have at least two Children's Rosary groups meeting.  Two groups are meeting at the exact same time despite being in different time zones and many miles a part. Please consider joining the Children in prayer from your home.  The children always pray for those unifying prayers with them.
The Children's Rosary at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Brentwood, California will meet at 6:30 PM ET in front of the Blessed Sacrament.
The Children's Rosary at St. Martin Church in Kingsville, Texas will meet at 6:30 PM ET.

St. Jospeh please pray for the Children's Rosary and all our families. Amen.

Collaboration with the Catholic Grandparents Association

The Children's Rosary and the Catholic Grandparents Association are collaborating on a special prayer effort during the month of July.  During the month of July we celebrate the Feast of St Anne and St. Joachim the grandparents of Jesus. The Church recognizes them on July 26th.  In thinking about this beautiful Feast and the wonderful role grandparents play in our own faith it seemed a wonderful idea to recognize them throughout the month of July.
During the month of July, in a special way we would like to invite grandparents to attend any Children's Rosary group meeting held during that month.  Grandparents are encouraged to bring their grandchildren to the Rosary if they would like. The Catholic Grandparents Association will be donating prayer cards to all Children's Rosary groups who would like to participate.  On their prayer card is a special prayer for grandparents composed by Pope Benedict Emeritus.  At the conclusion of the Children's Rosary we will invite both the children and grandparents to pray together this prayer for all grandparents.
