Mass to be Offered for Seminarians on July 1, 2017

A Mass will be offered tomorrow for all seminarians that they will grow in holiness and lead us all in love. Every month we have a Mass offered for this intention. As our seminarians will be the future shepherds and our children are the future flock, it seemed a beautiful way for the children to help.

We have been periodically featuring different seminarians on the first of the month by inviting them to share something of themselves - a beautiful sharing of faith and love of Our Lord. The first seminarian we will feature this month is Robert Carolan, pictured above with Cardinal Dolan. The second is Brian Dorrian pictured below.

Robert Carolan

"My name is Robert Carolan. I am from Yorktown Heights NY. My parents live in New Milford CT, I have three sisters and have three nieces and four nephews. I am a seminarian studying to be a priest for the Archdiocese of New York. I am about to enter my first year of first Theology at Saint Joseph Seminary in Yonkers, New York. Before I entered the seminary I was a physical education teacher for seven years. I have a strong devotion to Saint Padre Pio and Venerable Fulton J Sheen and Saint Therese the Little Flower."

Brian Dorrian

"My name is Brian Dorrian and I was born in the Bronx, NY and grew up in Nanuet, Rockland County, NY. I am a 2012 graduate of Siena College. I have been discerning the priesthood, to some degree, since my confirmation. I first discerned with the Capuchin Franciscan Friars before deciding to pursue diocesan priesthood with the Archdiocese of New York. I entrust my vocation to Blessed Mother and both Our Lady and the Eucharist are my anchors. I am a member of the Rosary Confraternity and pray the rosary everyday."

Ad Jesum per Mariam,

Brian

We hope that those of you reading this will keep these young men in your prayers.  If we want holy priests we need to pray for them. They are undertaking a difficult journey for Our Lord and souls.  We thank them for their, "Yes".

"70 Yrs Ago My Sister and I ... learned the Rosary"

Today we received this lovely card pictured above.
The note dated June 25th 2017 begins:

My Dear Children,
Thank you so for praying the Holy Rosary that I receive on EWTN. Your clear voices & sweet faces rise to Heaven...  Today is my 77th Birthday. 70 yrs ago my sister & I went to Holy Rosary Academy and learned the Rosary from the Sisters. Please find enclosed a ten dollar bill toward the roses you give to Our Blessed Mother.
Love to All R.

The more I thought about this card the more beauty I saw in it.  This card gives those of us who have not reached the age of 77 a peek into the perspective one has at that time in their life. One can look back over the years.  What stands out? What is important? This letter strongly suggests that something 70 years ago made a deep impact on this women's life. She was only 7 years old, yet she remembers it clearly and with great love and appreciation. One can see the love this soul has for Our Blessed Mother that she would want to send a crisp 10 dollar bill to put toward fresh roses for Our Lady. Who does that but a person who cares a great deal for someone. Why does she care so much?  Has it been that a 70 year friendship exists, one that began when she started praying the Rosary? What are the fruits of so many years of prayer? The cover of the card seems to suggest an attitude of thanksgiving and generosity.  Blessings come from this heart to little ones who remind her of the tender years when she too learned to pray the Rosary. The Children's Rosary which airs on EWTN is a window into a Children's Rosary prayer group but for many people it is a window back 70 years ago when they were little ones and someone helped them to pray the Rosary.

A special thank you to this soul for showing all of us what happens when a child is given the gift of praying the Rosary. What does that gift look like 70 years later?  Wow! It looks beautiful.

Encouragement

Dear Friends,

Several weeks ago I had the opportunity to talk to a mom who has been a part of the Children's Rosary for many years. She has sacrificed a great deal to help the Children's Rosary.  Read the post "when the impossible becomes possible" to give you just one example of the sacrifices she and her family have made to support the Children's Rosary.

Well a few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to share with her on the phone some of the beautiful blessings that have been coming. There have been so many people writing and calling with hopes of beginning Children's Rosary groups in their parishes. She was very excited to hear all that has been unfolding through the grace of God. A little while later she called back to share that after our conversation she had shared all this good news with her children. After this conversation a few minutes later the kids were calling from outside. A huge rainbow with extra rings extended across the sky.  Her youngest child Marianne immediately proclaimed "I think it is for the Children's Rosary". Her mom shared that she also agreed, feeling that the rainbow was an exclamation point to the conversation!

The following reading from Mass was read only two days after this beautiful moment of encouragement:

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all encouragement, who encourages us in our every affliction, so that we may be able to encourage those who are in any affliction with the encouragement with which we ourselves are encouraged by God."

The reading went on to state: "For as Christ's sufferings overflow to us, so through Christ does our encouragement also overflow. If we are afflicted, it is for your encouragement and salvation; if we are encouraged, it is for your encouragement, which enables you to endure the same sufferings that we suffer." (2 Cor 1:3-6)

So amidst suffering, Our Lord also sends His encouragement. We are not meant to hide these little gifts given but share these blessings that others who may be at that moment in a time of trial, may be lifted up in Spirit.

In this blog it is our hope to share the encouragement that Our Lord is sharing. We suffer, yes, but Our Lord's generosity abounds. I thank you all for all that you do to encourage me through this journey.

So many are writing, sometimes with moments of trial when it seems difficult to find children who want to pray but then there are moments of sweetness when the difficulty and perseverance yields a beautiful moment.... a time when one feels God's pleasure with all the efforts and prayers that have been done to bring more little children together in prayer. So I thank you.

We are on this journey together. I have heard it once said, satan's most worn tool is discouragement. So when we recognize such moments are not from Our Lord and we can help each other to get past these trials it is a good thing. In this way we can continue to pray and work in service of God.  Thank you all for your witnesses of encouragement.

Your Friend in Christ,
Blythe

* Note we did not have a picture of the rainbow mentioned in the post above. The picture included in this post is of a rainbow that was present on another day at our home. On a side note, we saw a rainbow again today! Praise Jesus for such beauty.

A Gift from Vietnam

The Children's Rosary in Vietnam celebrated their 1 year Anniversary on June 24th 2017! They wanted to share the cake they made and a special gift with you.
They have arranged to have three Masses celebrated for members of the Children's Rosary in the coming days in Vietnam.
A Mass will be celebrated by Fr. Khoa, ICM at Minh Giao Parish (pictured below) on June 27th and 28th at 17:15 local time in Vietnam.
A Mass will be celebrated by Fr. Tuan at Da Lat Chapel at 9:30 AM local time in Vietnam.
Two members of the Children's Rosary, Tran and Joseph, are visiting these Parishes this week some 6 hours from their home in a mountainous region of Vietnam. They have been so kind to offer these Masses and they also wanted to share that they will be praying the Rosary at 19PM local time at Minh Giao Parish daily from June 27-30. Consider unifying prayers with them.  Please also pray for them during this visit.

Mass Offered on June 25th 2017 for Members of the Children's Rosary

A Mass was offered today for all the members of the Children's Rosary and all who help the Children's Rosary.  We continue to have a Mass said for the this intention on the 25th of each month. The Eucharist is such a powerful gift from Our Lord that when I wanted to extend thanksgiving to all of you I knew of no better way to express my gratitude.  May Our Lord's love be poured down on all of you through the powerful sacrifice of the Holy Mass.

The picture above is a New Children's Rosary that met for the first time yesterday: June 24th 2017. The group is located at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Cancun, Mexico.  The group leader is shown in pink holding the Consecration prayers. Each Children's Rosary group is Consecrated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary. In this way, the groups are under the protection and guidance of Christ and His Mother. It was particularly special that this group was Consecrated on the day we honor the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Thank you to all who help us continue to keep giving God and Our Lady gifts of prayer.

Children's Rosary Participates in Global Rosary Relay: Highlights from Vietnam 2017

We are already receiving pictures from Children's Rosary groups participating in this years Global Rosary Relay for Priests which is organized by Worldpriest.com.

The children from Suoi Sao orphanage in Bien Hoa met today and unified prayers with others around the world praying for the sanctification of priests - this being the world day of prayer for priests.

The children began their meeting today by coloring pictures of priests and they gave them to Our Lady of La Vang. Then they knelt in prayer of the Rosary praying the Joyful Mysteries.
The children took turns placing roses before Our Lady and Jesus.

The Global Rosary relay is in full swing right now with many more shrines still yet to lead a Rosary for the sanctification of priests.

We received word just now that our Children's Rosary group in Mount Lebanon, Pennsylvania USA will be holding a special meeting today to participate in the Global Rosary relay. They will be praying at 12:15 PM ET.

There is a Children's Rosary group meeting right now from Uganda. They are participating in the Global Rosary Relay. Please consider joining us in prayer! Visit www.childrensrosary.org and click "join in prayer" so we can see your light.

Happy Father's Day!

Today we received these pictures from the Children's Rosary in Pakistan. The children took the opportunity to thank their Fathers and even give them presents. We wish all the Fathers who are part of the Children's Rosary a special blessing this day.  We also remember Our Heavenly Father. The Children's Rosary has always had a special relationship with each person of the Trinity. Our books, CDs and DVD are all dedicated to the Holy Trinity and Our Blessed Mother.  Today at Mass I reflected that several years ago we met at Our Father's Retreat House to hold a Children's Rosary on Father's Day. We made a video recording of the Children's Rosary and parts of it were highlighted on an EWTN interview in 2013.  Many graces and fruits came through that initial interview on EWTN and there was a feeling that God the Father had helped us in a powerful way. We thank Him for such grace and assistance.  So today when we honor the Body and Blood of Christ in the celebration of Corpus Christi we also remember the Father that sent His Son to us.

Global Rosary Relay 2017 is in 1 Week!

Next Friday June 23rd will be the Global Rosary Relay for Priests. This is the third year that the Children's Rosary has been invited to participate. As the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus (June 23), is also the World Day of Prayer for Priests, it is a very special way we can help to support our shepherds.

The Global Rosary Relay kicks off at midnight with shrines taking turns around the world leading a Rosary for the sanctification of priests. A full schedule of meetings is available on the World Priest website. Members of the Children's Rosary can participate by unifying prayers with a Shrine of their choosing from home.  Also if Children's Rosary groups would like to meet at their normal meeting location such as the Parish, School or orphanage they can unify prayers with the Shrine meeting at the same time and pray for the sanctification of priests. The prayers of children are very strong so we hope many many children will participate.  Please also visit our Children's Rosary website www.childrensrosary.org and click "join in prayer" that day so we can see your gold flashing light on the View from Heaven map.

Come on a Journey with the Children in Vietnam (Day 2)

The children would like to invite you to continue on the journey they began June 2 2017.  Seven children who live in Bac Hoa Orphanage in Bien Hoa and participate in the Children's Rosary were able to go on a two day retreat at the Monastery of Our Lady of Phuoc Hai in Vietnam. June 3rd (Pentecost Sunday) began with an early breakfast at 6AM.

By 9 AM the children were ready to take Our Lady of Fatima from the mountain down to the monastery.

The children had worked very hard in preparation before the trip to build a platform where Our Lady could sit and be carried to the many special sites.

The children not only carried Our Lady but they also prayed the Rosary as they walked. It seemed that there were many stairs both in the descent to the monastery and then once in the monastery up to the chapel for Mass.

Then the children had a very special gift on Pentecost. A Mass was celebrated just for the children. Their entire group was 12 people.

Then the children were able to sing hymns together in the chapel of the monastery.

There was also time for quiet prayer.

At 1:30 they walked to Our Lady of Mai Dau. Here they continued on the path of the Cross. They climbed to the Cross at the top of the mountain.  Tran shared that the little children wanted to sacrifice to climb the mountain.
He shares, "I did not catch them climbing to the top of the mountain. But the children have sacrificed. They are very happy. Then we went down the mountain and came to the statue of Our Lady of Bai Dau [pictured above].

This is the largest statue of Our Lady in Vietnam. At this time, the wind is very strong. The children say it is the wind of the Holy Spirit. And I also think that is was the Holy Spirit that empowered the children so that they could climb to the top of the mountain."

A most magnificent way to spend Pentecost at the top a mountain in prayer.

A special thank you to Joseph Hop for taking these beautiful pictures. We thank the children for inviting us to travel with them and see all the beautiful ways they Honored Our Lord and His Mother.

Come on a Journey with the Children in Vietnam (Day 1)

Dear Friends,

Come on a journey with the members of the Children's Rosary. They have a lot to show you. Seven children who live in Bac Hoa orphanage and participate in the Children's Rosary had the experience to go on retreat!  Other members of the Children's Rosary also joined them. The children had the experience to go to the Monastery of Our Lady of Phuoc Hai run by the Cistercian nuns.

Day 1 (June 2, 2017)
The children visited the sea. They then walked the way of the Cross.
The children took turns carrying the cross. At 3PM they prayed for the Mercy of the Lord.

At 4PM they planted flowers to prepare for the procession of Our Lady of Fatima. The children had dinner at 6PM and at 7PM they began a procession of prayers and they prayed the Rosary.  A beautiful platform had been built by some of the older children for Our Blessed Mother to sit on for the procession. The platform was decorated with beautiful flowers the children planted. They took such care in everything they did.

The children share that during their procession it rained. They walked around the monastery. The children relate that "the nuns went to the balcony and looked at us. They were very surprised and loved us. We took the procession from the mountain to the monastery. The children together sang Ave Maria. They hold candles in their hands. Then at 8PM we finished the procession. It's still raining." The children were then able to see a movie about Mary of Lourdes.
We thank those of you who unified prayers with the children during these days of prayer. Please stay close to this site to see what the children did to Honor Our Lord and His Mother the following day. A special thank you to Joseph Hop for taking these beautiful pictures and a special thank you to the children for their witness of love and faith.

First Children's Rosary in Alabama

Meet our new Children's Rosary group at St. Francis Xavier School in Birmingham, Alabama. They held their first meeting on May 12th 2017 before a large outdoor statue of Our Lady of Fatima.  It was very special that the children were able to meet on the eve of the 100th Anniversary of Fatima. A second class relic of St. Francisco and Jacinta Marto was present for the meeting.

The children reverently knelt before Our Lady in prayer of the Rosary. The children who participated in the meeting were from the first and third grade classes at the school.

Their principal, Mr. Nathan Wright, Consecrated the new group to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary at the first meeting. In this way the group is under the protection and guidance of Christ and His Mother. This group has chosen to meet weekly on Friday afternoons at 2:30 PM CT. We are so excited to welcome the children from St. Francis Xavier School to the Children's Rosary. They add one more brilliant thread to the tapestry of prayer that Our Lady is weaving globally through the prayers of the children.

We also heard that the children are learning our theme song "Rosary Children" and have been singing it at the end of their weekly meetings. One of the children is even learning the song on her ukulele.

The picture above was done by Abigail age 6. She is a member of the Children's Rosary in Wisconsin USA. Her siblings Jack and Iris sent us their drawings as well.

This picture was drawn by Bridget age 10 from Connecticut.
Jack shared this picture he drew of the descent of the Holy Spirit. He is the older sister of Abigail.
The last picture was done by a little four year old girl named Iris. We thank the children for the beauty they share with us.

The Children Want You to Go on a Trip with Them

Members of the Children's Rosary in Vietnam have been working very hard. They share in the picture above a very special project that has taken the children two full days of labor. They made this special platform to carry a statue of Our Lady of Fatima. Careful inspection reveals handles from drawers used in a very clever way to help stabilize the Statue of Our Lady. Painting was also needed to finish the project. The children plan to use this platform to bring Our Lady on a pilgrimage they are going on this weekend.

Tran (age 16) shared their plans:
On Saturday June 3rd and Sunday June 4th we and 7 children representing Children's Rosary will go on pilgrimage to the Shrine of Our Lady of Bai Dau. This is a shrine located close to Vung Tau Beach. We will pray and rest there. At noon we follow the Way of the Cross. In the afternoon we attend the Mass. In the evening we will take Our Lady of Fatima procession around the shrine and pray the Rosary. Next morning we will climb Tao Phung Mountain. There is a huge statue of Jesus on it. We will visit the grave of the martyrs. A lot of work. I hope you will travel with us.
This is also the Feast of the Holy Spirit.

This is a beautiful invitation from the children. They have put in so much work to make this extra special for Our Blessed Mother. The time in Vietnam is approximately 12 hours ahead of Eastern Time (time in Boston USA). Please consider unifying prayers with the children on this special trip. Click "join in prayer" on our new website(www.childrensrosary.org) so your gold flashing light can illuminate the dark sky. The children in Vietnam can see your gold flashing light and see that you are with them in prayer.
