Barrel Begins Long Journey to Uganda on August 29th 2019

On the Feast of the Passion of St. John the Baptist, a barrel was picked up containing 7,310 rosaries. After spending the month of June in Africa, we saw the many fruits coming from the rosaries that have been sent. One child in Uganda speaking for herself and her school where they have a Children's Rosary said, "rosaries help us to know God". Thus we see each rosary as an opportunity for a child to develop a relationship with God. Since we have returned we have been busy packing barrels to help those children we met in Africa. The first of these barrels left today. It will begin its slow trip first going to Branford, Connecticut. Then it will be picked up and brought to New Jersey where it will be loaded to a large shipping container. It will wait there until the shipping container is completely full and then it will be loaded onto a sea vessel. It will travel by sea to Mombasa, Kenya and then to Kampala, Uganda. From there it will be shared with several dioceses including Kampala, Mityana, and Masaka.

The picture below is of Fr. Richard Okiria blessing the barrel and its contents today before it was taken away. We thank Fr. Richard Okiria for the gift of his priestly blessing and his help transporting the barrel to Branford, Connecticut where it can be more easily picked up and brought to the shipping container in New Jersey.

We are preparing additional barrels to be shipped to Africa. One will be sent to Tanzania and the other to Mombasa, Kenya. We are in need of donations to help with shipping costs of the barrel for Kenya and the additional barrel we are preparing for Uganda.
Donations can be made ONLINE or made out to Children's Rosary Inc and mailed to:

Children's Rosary
PO Box 271743
West Hartford CT 06107 USA

The Children's Rosary is a non profit organization in the United States.

We also would love donated handmade rosary beads. We ask that individuals not purchase rosary beads for the purpose of sending them to us but instead consider making a donation to help with the shipping costs. A special thank you to all who have helped with these efforts may God bless you.
