Four Barrels of Rosaries Leave for Uganda!

On April 11th, the final day of our 18 day Anniversary Novena of Masses, four barrels were picked up in Connecticut. These contained 34,134 handmade rosaries and 400 Child Consecration books. The destination is Uganda. These will be received in Kampala by Fr. Jude Ssali and shared with five dioceses in Uganda where the Children's Rosary continues to grow and flourish. The barrels will have a long trip by shipping container, and they have an estimated arrival date in late August or early September.

The rosaries will help the growing number of Children's Rosary prayer groups in parishes and schools in Uganda. Below is a photo sent to us this month of the Children's Rosary at St. Aloysius Primary School in Masaka Diocese. This group meets daily to pray the Rosary. The picture was sent to us this month.

Currently, we have individuals who have made donations to cover the shipping costs for the first two barrels; however, we still are in need of donations to cover the shipping costs for the remaining two barrels.

The cost to purchase and ship one barrel along with taxes comes to $450.
We are also in need of donations to cover $1,400 in the printing costs to replenish the Consecration books that were included. Four hundred books were included in the barrels and each book can be used by a Children's Rosary prayer group or used to lead a school Consecration. In addition, we also included eighty Children's Rosary books in the barrels, which cost us $120. Each one of these is a seed for a new Children's Rosary group.

All of the rosaries included in the barrel were handmade. So much love is contained in these barrels. We are so grateful to all who have sent us handmade rosaries. For those who want to help, please do not purchase rosaries and send them. We have a steady supply of handmade rosaries arriving almost each day. The place where we are in need of urgent help is in covering the shipping and printing costs.

Ways to Help

In total, we are in need of  $2,420. We hope many will be a part of this glorious gift to Our Lady. With the month of May approaching, many may want to give a gift to Our Heavenly Mother. Helping to spread devotion to the Rosary among children is a perfect way to honor Mary!

In the United States, we also celebrate Mother's Day on May 9th. If individuals would like to give a gift in honor of their mother, we are happy to send a handwritten card sharing that a gift has been given to the Children's Rosary in honor of their mother.

Donations can be made electronically HERE.
Donations can also be mailed to:
Children's Rosary
PO Box 271743
West Hartford CT 06127 USA

If you would like to give a donation in honor of your mother, please send us an email. Write to Blythe at blythe@childrensrosary.org, and, on the subject heading, write: Donation for Mother's Day. In this way we can ensure the letter is sent in time for Mother's Day.

Children's Rosary Turns Ten!

The Children's Rosary turned ten on April 10th 2021. At the home parish of the Children's Rosary, St. Thomas the Apostle, we had our monthly Children's Rosary on Sunday.

We celebrated the Anniversary first by making special cupcakes decorated each with the number ten. These were given in little containers to the children and adults who attended the Children's Rosary.
We had a lovely Rosary led by the children. Children in turns helped to lead the prayers and they also helped in placing roses at the foot of Our Lady. Sean attended the Rosary. Many may remember Sean. He was in our theme song video. Kostin was leading him out of the Church as he is blind. It was very touching to see Kostin now significantly taller still helping Sean by taking a rose from him to place at Our Lady's feet at the end of the second decade.

Asher who was only 4 years old when the Children's Rosary began, had prepared something special for the day. He had learned to play our theme song "Rosary Children" on the guitar. Being rather self conscious as most 14 year olds are at that age, he waited to play the song for Our Lady after almost everyone had left the Church. It was a private gift from a child to his Heavenly Mother.
Our Anniversary novena of Masses continue. For nine days leading up to the anniversary Masses were said for the fulfillment of Our Lady's plans for the Children's Rosary. Thirty Masses were said in total for that intention. Starting on April 10th daily Masses were celebrated in thanksgiving. These will continue until April 18th. We anticipate 36 Masses to be celebrated in total in thanksgiving.

We thank God for the many blessings He has bestowed on the Children's Rosary. We also thank all of you who have helped in so many ways over these last ten years. May God bless you all.

Join Us in Praying the Divine Mercy Novena Beginning April 2 2021

Dear Friends,

Good Friday is the day that Jesus asked Saint Faustina that a 9 day novena to the Divine Mercy be initiated.  He gave her a different group of souls to pray for each day.  Along with those intentions the Chaplet of Divine Mercy is said as well. The novena leads up to Divine Mercy Sunday instituted by Pope John Paul II. Attached is a link to the Divine Mercy Novena and how to pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy.

May the Children’s Rosary humbly ask that you include our intention with the intentions you are praying this Divine Mercy Novena. We wish for Our Lord to guide the Children's Rosary in the way that it most pleasing to Him as we continue forward.

Please remember that to become a member of the Children’s Rosary you only have to tell Our Lord in your heart of your desire to join us and then you will be included in all of these novenas and rosaries said daily. We thank you!

Intention:

MAY THE CHILDREN’S ROSARY, THEIR FAMILIES, THOSE ASSOCIATED WITH THE CHILDREN’S ROSARY INCLUDING OUR PRIESTS, OUR BISHOP AND OUR HOLY FATHER THE POPE BE THE EXTENDED HANDS OF OUR BLESSED MOTHER AND HER SON. MAY WE GATHER A GREAT MANY SOULS ESPECIALLY YOUNG PEOPLE FOR THE LORD.  MAY WE EXPERIENCE RENEWAL OF FAMILY PRAYER AND SPREAD IT ACROSS THE GLOBE. MAY A GREAT MANY PEOPLE BE BROUGHT TO THE CHILDREN'S ROSARY THAT WE MAY BLANKET THE EARTH WITH PEOPLE WANTING TO BE THE EXTENDED HANDS OF MARY AND JESUS. AMEN

We are excited to share that we have a beautiful recording of the children leading the Chaplet of Divine Mercy.  We invite you to pray with them as you say your novena.
