First Children's Rosary to Meet in Belgium on August 31st 2016

Dear Friends,

It is with great joy that I share some wonderful news.  On Wednesday August 31st the first meeting of the Children's Rosary in Belgium will be held in a small chapel in the Sanctuary of Banneux Notre-Dame! The Rector of the Shrine Fr. Leo Palm will be attending the Children's Rosary.

"Chapelle Marie Médiatrice"
Several years ago an individual in Belgium reached out to the Children's Rosary with the hope that someday a Children's Rosary could begin in Belgium.  There was a hope that not only would a Children's Rosary begin in Belgium but that a Children's Rosary would begin at the Shrine of Banneux.  Humbly we placed this intention on the intention list sent out to Children's Rosary groups around the world.  The children prayed and we hoped.  Years went by and then this week news!  Yes, glorious news that indeed a group was forming at the Shrine of Banneux.  The new group leader wrote this evening that the meeting was chosen for August 31st the Feast of "Marie Médiatrice".  The chapel the children would be meeting in also shares the name of the Feast: "Chapelle Marie Médiatrice".  The group is very excited to "offer the gift of the Children's Rosary to our Mother Mary on her feast day!"

We are also excited as this is our first Children's Rosary group which will be praying in French.

The children will be meeting at 2PM local time in Belgium.  This will be 8AM ET.  Please consider joining the children in prayer.  The children have been asked to pray for all those unifying prayers with them.

In a special way we thank Our Lord for the grace which brought this new group to fruition.

In addition, we thank all those that have helped to organize this new group and those that have been working on translation of Children's Rosary materials into French.

Your Friend in Christ,
Blythe

Mass Offered on August 25th 2016 for Members of the Children's Rosary

A Mass was offered today, through the Capuchin Missions, for all the members of the Children's Rosary and all who help the Children's Rosary.  We continue to have a Mass said for the this intention on the 25th of each month. The Eucharist is such a powerful gift from Our Lord that when I wanted to extend thanksgiving to all of you I knew of no better way to express my gratitude.  May Our Lord's love be poured down on all of you through the powerful sacrifice of the Holy Mass.

Under the Care of Our Blessed Mother

Last Saturday I had the joy of being able to attend the profession of perpetual vows of three seminarians at the National Shrine of Divine Mercy.  They were: Br. Alexander Chung MIC, Br. Timothy Childers MIC, and Br. Christopher Reyes Orante MIC. One of the seminarians, Br. Alexander Chung, we have featured on our blog in the past.

One of the things we have done through the Children's Rosary is to offer a monthly Mass for seminarians: that they will grow in holiness and lead us in love.  The children also pray for the seminarians when they meet in their prayer groups. There is something beautiful about children praying for their future shepherds as the children will be the future flock.  What child or family would not love to see a holy Priest leading their parish or helping in the missions throughout the world.  It seems a wonderful connection to foster between the children and the young men saying, "yes" to a life of service of Our Lord.

I was struck at the end of the Mass after the men had vowed a life of chastity, poverty, and obedience forever, they did one more thing before they processed out of the Church.  Each man took a rose and placed it at the foot of Our Lady and knelt in prayer before her.  We in the pews do not know what each man said to Our Blessed Mother but we all could see that they came before her with deep reverence.  They were beginning a new phase of their lives and before they met the world as new men professed to God, they sought to give Our Lady a gift. As a Mother, she surely found great joy in seeing the fruits of many prayers and sacrifice.  Young men going out to the vineyard to help bring souls to Christ.

In looking at the young men I could not help but think of the children kneeling before Our Lady in their Children's Rosary prayer groups.  At the end of each decade, a child places a rose at the foot of Our Lady. They too ask her for grace and place themselves under her care just as these young men were doing.

As the children have prayed for these men, I was very touched to hear from Br. Chung that on this very important day when he was giving so much to Our Lord, he said a prayer for the Children's Rosary as he processed into the Church.  We are so grateful for such prayers.

After the reception which followed the evening Mass, the sun set and the sky grew dark.  As we were walking to the car, we could see what looked like an electrical storm.  Lights from different parts of the sky lit up behind the clouds.  It was an incredible thing to see.  There was no rain or thunder only the illumination of different parts of the sky.  During our hour and a half drive home to Connecticut the electrical show continued.  My husband just kept uttering, "incredible". During such an amazing display in the sky our daughter said from the back seat of the car, "it looks like a party in heaven".  Indeed one could imagine that there was great celebration that night both on earth and in heaven.

First Children's Rosary in Arkansas to Meet Today!

We are excited to share that the first Children's Rosary group in Arkansas USA will meet today at 2:30 PM CT.  As the children very much like to see all the different parts of the US and other countries where Children's Rosary prayer groups exist, we have started including pictures of the local areas where groups are beginning  The picture above is of the White River in Arkansas.  Our new Children's Rosary group is near both the White River and also Buffalo National River and North Folk River. The countryside is indeed beautiful!

Arkansas is in the Southeast part of the United States and agriculture remains an important part of the economy. Rice is the main crop but poultry and grain production are also important parts.

This new Children's Rosary prayer group has chosen to meet weekly on Sundays in front of the Blessed Sacrament. They chose today as their first meeting in honor of St. Maximilian Kolbe whose Feast we celebrate today.  Please consider joining the children in prayer.  The children always pray for those unifying prayers with them.

Flooding in Pakistan

Recently there has been heavy rains and flooding in Pakistan. This has affected the area where we have many Children's Rosary groups.  We received word from our Children's Rosary group leader that in Kotli Rabat Wali, "when it was raining three children stopped beside a wall and suddenly the wall fell due to heavy rain and thunder. Thank God everyone of them were saved as they were urgently brought to a hospital. I went to the hospital to see them and prayed for them along with their parents for their speedy recovery."
Flooding in the home of our Children's Rosary group leader
May I humbly ask those reading this to say a Hail Mary for our Children's Rosary prayer groups in Pakistan and their families.  May Our Lord console them and sustain them through this time of suffering.

Mass Offered for Renewal of Family Prayer

A Mass was offered for Renewal of Family Prayer on Saturday on August 6th. In a special way the Children's Rosary has been praying for renewal of family prayer.  We have said over 850 Novenas to different Saints asking for their intercession and help renewing family prayer in our families.  We also have a Mass offered on the first Saturday of the month for the same intention.  One of the members of the Children's Rosary was so kind to sponsor a Mass each month for this intention for one year.  As more and more children come together in prayer of the Rosary in their Children's Rosary prayer groups we pray that prayer also blossoms in their homes as well and throughout the world.  Pope John Paul II was fond of saying, "As the family goes, so goes the nation and so goes the whole world in which we live."

First Children's Rosary to Meet in Iowa

We are excited to share that the first Children's Rosary group in Iowa USA will meet today at 10:30 ET.  The new groups is in Pella, Iowa USA.

The state of Iowa is one of the largest producers of corn in the United States. It is wonderful to see a bit of the countryside of the different places in the world where Children's Rosary groups now exist.

As today is the Feast of the Transfiguration of Our Lord, it is a wonderful blessing to have a new Children's Rosary group meeting for the first time.  As the Transfiguration is one of the mysteries of the Rosary it is also beautiful to contemplate the fruits of the mysteries.  The fruit of the fourth luminous mystery, the Transfiguration, is desire for holiness.  What parent would not want their child to strive to be holy.  We thank God for each of these Children's Rosary groups that draws down grace to help sanctify our children and also our world.

Please consider unifying prayers with the children today!

Happy Feast of St. John Vianney!

It is with great joy that we look forward to the Feast of St. John Vianney on August 4th.  We have been reading the book Cure d'Ars for the past several months.  The children and I have become so fond of this humble saint.  Catherine Lassagne a close friend of his described him, "M. le Cure was so small, so utterly nothing in his own eyes that the Holy Ghost loved to fill with a wonderful abundance of lights the void thus made by his selflessness."

It was said of this Saint that he always seemed to have but one thing to do, the duty of the present moment. Yet St. John Vianney was able to continually lift his heart to Our Lord even while fulfilling his duties.  He had a way of weaving prayer throughout his day.

"Prayer is a fragrant dew. The more we pray, the more we love to pray." -St. John Vainney
