May Crowning at Our Lady of Lourdes Shrine in Ireland

 Members of the Children's Rosary from St. Patrick's Parish in Castledawson, Ireland met on May 22 for a May Crowning and Children's Rosary at Our Lady of Lourdes Shrine in Ireland. The children processed to the grotto and led the Rosary. They crowned Our Lady and also placed roses and flowers at the foot of her statue at the end of each decade. 

The Children's Rosary group leader explained that on the way to the Shrine it was pouring rain and there was concern for the weather. Even as preparations began it was raining heavily but the sky beautifully cleared just in time for the procession, crowning and Children's Rosary. 

It is inspiring to see the mentorship that happens between the children. In the above picture a six year old boy, shown with the multicolor shirt, was being helped by one of the other members of the Children's Rosary. 

Children's Rosary Informational Meeting for Ireland May 24, 2022

Children United in Prayer May 2022

The Children's Rosary at Sacred Heart School in Boone, Iowa USA and the Children's Rosary at the Cathedral of Shendam, Nigeria have again united in prayer. They recently met May 3rd and will be meeting again today. They sent us some pictures from their May 3rd  united Children's Rosary.

The pictures above are of the children united in prayer from Boone, Iowa. The pictures below are from the Cathedral in Shendam, Nigeria. 

We thank all those who helped in organizing this Children's Rosary which has united children from two different continents. 

May 2022 Crowning of Mary

Many Children's Rosary group have been holding May Crownings of Mary. Here are a few pictures of the one we held at the Children's Rosary at St. Thomas the Apostle Parish in West Harford, Connecticut, USA on May 8th 2022. 

The children processed to the front of the Church singing, "Hail Holy Queen." We played the song from the Glorious Mysteries Children's Rosary CD to help support their soft voices. One of the youngest children attending was the one to place the crown of fresh roses on Mary's head. The children took turns placing tulips at the feet of Our Lady at the end of each decade. We had a new member who was just 2 years old who made her way to Our Lady's Statue to place a flower.

We caught several moments when Peyton and Ingrid were seen stroking Our Lady tenderly during the prayers. Both are just five years old and looked at Our Lady with love and wonder (see image below). 

Over 50,000 Rosaries Leave for Uganda!

 

Dear Friends,

On April 23, 2022 6 barrels were sent to Uganda. The total number of rosaries included in the 6 barrels came to 51,621 rosaries. Almost all of these rosaries were handmade. In total 300 Children's Rosary books were sent along with 150 Child Consecration books. We are grateful to those who support our mission through financial donations and the hundreds who make handmade rosaries and send them to us from the US and Canada. We try to send only handmade rosaries as we know these are a double gift of both a rosary and a tremendous amount of love. 

We are still in need for several more sponsors to cover all the shipping costs associated with the barrels. With prices rising, each barrel now costs approximately 500 dollars to send.

May 2022 Children's Rosary Newsletter

 

Please enjoy our most recent Newsletter. 

We pair this newsletter with some recent pictures of Lilies of Valley blooming in our yard. Their tiny flowers smell heavenly but these bloom for such a short time...usually just a week. We have been trying to enjoy their fragrance as it comes just one time per year. Seeing the passage of the flowers does give one pause to appreciate how fast time is going by especially when we see our young ones growing up. Let us make good use of our time. 

Feast of St. Isidore the Farmer 2022

 

The Feast of St. Isidore the Farmer marks the progression of spring, and, as it happens, is the point in the growing season when gardeners can begin to plant their tender vegetables in Connecticut, USA. We do not anticipate another frost, although such cold snaps cannot be ruled out completely. We continue to chronical our gardening experiences through Our Lady's Victory Garden website and You Tube Channel. As J.R.R. Tolkien said very well, "All my own perception of beauty both in majesty and simplicity is founded upon Our Lady." In the same spirit we dedicated this Victory Garden to Our Lady where we do enjoy the beauty of God's creation and embrace a simplicity of life that Our Lady modeled.   This gardening journey on our 1/4 acre is our way of life and we want to humbly share it with others. Prayer has brought us to seek simplicity of life. Simplicity of life is not unattainably difficult; indeed, we have found a form of it just steps outside our back door in the garden. We have felt great graces flowing and great joy during these days as all of nature bursts forth with color and heavenly smells. One experiences great joy when a dinner is brought to the table with food that has come from the garden.

One of our latest treasures has been the preparation of dandelions from our yard. These have contributed to at least three healthy meals. Most see these greens with the yellow flowers as a nuisance in their yards, but they can be prepared very easily and are delicious. We provide the recipe on our site, www.ourladysvictorygarden.com.

Five Years Ago Today on May 1st 2017

On May 1st 2017 the Feast of St. Joseph the Worker and the first day of Our Lady's month of May, the Children's Rosary received a gift. EWTN featured the Children's Rosary on two shows. Nuestra Fe en Vivo aired a program on the Children's Rosary in Spanish. Host Pepe Alonso interviewed, Asher Kaufman age 10, a member of the Children's Rosary. If you have not had a chance to see this interview it is very special. The link is HERE.

At Home with Jim and Joy also featured a program that highlighted the Children's Rosary.
