The Children's Rosary® is a prayer group movement that was begun out of love for Our Lady and Her Son. Jesus tells us "Truly, I say to you unless you turn and become like children you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven" (Matthew 18:3). The Children's Rosary is an effort to begin in parishes rosary prayer groups composed of children and led by children. Through prayer of the Rosary Our Lady will guide our young people while at the same time sanctify families and Parishes.

Children's Rosary to be Featured on EWTN Radio Tonight
Today at 8 PM PST and 5 PM Eastern Asher Kaufman (age 12) will be talking in Spanish about the Children's Rosary on the radio program "Young Soul Alma Joven". This is a Spanish program which airs on EWTN Radio (Radio Católica Mundial). The link to listen live is HERE.
Today is the Feast of St. Catherine of Siena
Today we honor St. Catherine of Siena, Doctor of the Church and mystic. She is quoted as saying "Be who God meant you to be and you will set the world on fire". Indeed she encourages us on the path to holiness. St. John Paul II made her one of Europe's patron saints. Many might not be aware but the Children's Rosary Joyful Mysteries CD has an original song written about St. Catherine of Siena sung by members of the Children's Rosary.
The Joyful Mysteries CD can be ordered HERE. One can also download the song HERE.

Divine Mercy Sunday 2019
Dear Friends,
Today we had a special Divine Mercy Event at St. Thomas the Apostle Parish in West Hartford, Connecticut USA. This is the parish where the Children's Rosary first began. The organizers of the Divine Mercy Event invited the Children's Rosary to lead the Rosary.
One of the intentions that was mentioned aloud before beginning the Rosary was for all the members of the Children's Rosary. A first class relic of St. Faustina was present for the Event. While touching the relic in a special way I prayed for the members of the Children's Rosary. Please know you were remembered today in prayer. One of the very special blessings of the day was the grace of having the children lead the prayers in front of the Blessed Sacrament.
For those of you who may not be aware we have a beautiful Chaplet of Divine Mercy recorded by members of the Children's Rosary. It is moving. Click HERE to listen and pray along with it.
Thank you all and may you have a blessed Divine Mercy Sunday.

A Puddle
Occasionally on this blog I have shared a bit about the journey of an illness that pulled me from an active career as an Endodontist and bit by bit simplified my life. At the time it did not feel like my life was becoming simpler. Rather it felt like a terrible road that was leading away from my ability to live life. Through a genetic condition that was diagnosed during the pregnancy with our son, I was warned that my body might deteriorate. Indeed this is what happened. Not only would I lose the ability to do many of the things I wanted to do to care for myself such as even tying my shoes for myself. I could not even open a refrigerator to get something to eat. This was due to instability of the joints in my hands and other parts of my body. This instability caused injury and even joint dislocation. There were periods of time when I was in excruciating pain. It was through this process that Our Lord was breaking down deeply rooted ideas that I could do things on my own and did not need to rely on God.
After reaching the worst of my physical decline, often I would think of myself as a puddle. I was brought low, so low in fact that nothing solid remained just a puddle of my former self. I thought of this puddle as the lowest point. One could get no lower at least in the way I thought of myself.
Our Lord did not leave me alone...in fact I am certain I was never alone at any point in that spiraling decline. But once I hit rock bottom and I turned everything over to God hope flooded in. I would never get back my ability to do many things such as practice dentistry, drive or even open a refrigerator, yet the future seemed bright. In some ways my body began to stabilize and I again could walk more then across a room and even could walk to Mass each day. Yet as I would speak of those darkest moments I would often relate the feeling of being a puddle. The image of myself never seemed to leave me. The sadness was gone. It was rather just a way to describe a feeling I had.
Today when after Mass I found myself needing to lay down I was reminded of the puddle. As I thought of the puddle Our Lord showed me the beauty of even a simple dirty puddle. The water that fell was clean but the world had in many ways sullied it. Yet even in this rather pitiful state when the sun peeked out from behind a cloud this dirty little puddle could reflect that which is above. It surely had no beauty of its own. Of itself the puddle is to be avoided by most people of good sense as one wants to keep your shoes clean and dry. Yet God can use even this little puddle for His Glory. The puddle could do what many of the things in the yard could not do. It could reflect the beauty of the sky in such a way.
I have always felt that Our Lord kept my limitations always present to keep me always aware at how dependent I am on Him. He had taught me in a very hard lesson, hard because of my stubbornness. He had taught me the beauty of the response of Peter to Our Lord's question: "You do not want to go away also, do you?" and Peter answered, "Lord, to whom shall we go?"(John 6:68) I had through many tries attempted many other paths. I found none satisfying save one that Our Lord was leading me on. So today in my bed I called to my daughter to go out and take some pictures of puddles. As a good daughter she indulged me. What she brought back was just what I suspected in my heart. There were small puddles that shown beautifully the sky with all its splendor. As I mentioned before, most people try to avoid puddles. This is of course save for the little child who loves nothing more then jumping in puddles. What can be more fun? Maybe this is why Our Lord has put me among so many children through the Children's Rosary. It is there that His little puddle can serve Him best.

Mass Offered on April 25th 2019 for Members of the Children's Rosary
A Mass was offered today for all the members of the Children's Rosary and all who help the Children's Rosary. We continue to have a Mass said for the this intention on the 25th of each month. The Eucharist is such a powerful gift from Our Lord that when I wanted to extend thanksgiving to all of you I knew of no better way to express my gratitude. May Our Lord's love be poured down on all of you through the powerful sacrifice of the Holy Mass.
The photo above is from the Children's Rosary at Seven Sorrows of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish in Middletown, Pennsylvania USA. This picture was taken during their April 7th meeting. We thank the children for their prayers. One can imagine it brings Our Lady and her Son great joy to look down and see such a sight.

8th Anniversary of the Children's Rosary
Last Sunday we celebrated the 8th Anniversary of the Children's Rosary. The Children's Rosary has been meeting monthly for the past 8 years at St. Thomas the Apostle Parish in West Hartford, Connecticut USA. A single meeting has not been missed over the 8 years. Sometimes our numbers were very small but still we met. We have seen that numbers do not matter. As Mother Theresa was fond of saying, "God has not called me to be successful, He called me to be faithful". From this little group, many other groups have followed the simple model of the Children's Rosary and formed in parishes, schools and orphanages across the globe. We were joined last Sunday by Fr. Richard Okiria our Parochial Vicar at St. Thomas. He led Grace for our breakfast. Fr. Richard is originally from Uganda. He along with our Pastor, Fr. Moran, have been wonderfully supportive of the Children's Rosary.
At our Anniversary celebration last Sunday, we had a little potluck breakfast. The kids made a rosary out of donuts and donut holes. After the breakfast, we went to the Chapel where the children led the Rosary. We prayed in a special way for all the members of the Children's Rosary.
We are happy to report that 54 Masses were offered as part of our Children's Rosary Anniversary Novena of Masses. Twenty-seven Masses were offered for the fulfillment of Our Lady's plans for the Children's Rosary. Twenty-seven Masses were offered in Thanksgiving. The last of these were offered on Holy Thursday. We thank all those who helped in providing donations for the Masses that were celebrated.

Join Us in Praying the Divine Mercy Novena Beginning April 19th 2019
Dear Friends,
Good Friday is the day that Jesus asked Saint Faustina that a 9 day novena to the Divine Mercy be initiated. He gave her a different group of souls to pray for each day. Along with those intentions the Chaplet of Divine Mercy is said as well. The novena leads up to Divine Mercy Sunday instituted by Pope John Paul II. Attached is a link to the Divine Mercy Novena and how to pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy.
May the Children’s Rosary humbly ask that you include our intention with the intentions you are praying this Divine Mercy Novena. Please remember that to become a member of the Children’s Rosary you only have to tell Our Lord in your heart of your desire to join us and then you will be included in all of these novenas and rosaries said daily. We thank you!
Intention:
MAY THE CHILDREN’S ROSARY, THEIR FAMILIES, THOSE ASSOCIATED WITH THE CHILDREN’S ROSARY INCLUDING OUR PRIESTS, OUR BISHOP AND OUR HOLY FATHER THE POPE BE THE EXTENDED HANDS OF OUR BLESSED MOTHER AND HER SON. MAY WE GATHER A GREAT MANY SOULS ESPECIALLY YOUNG PEOPLE FOR THE LORD. MAY WE EXPERIENCE RENEWAL OF FAMILY PRAYER AND SPREAD IT ACROSS THE GLOBE. MAY A GREAT MANY PEOPLE BE BROUGHT TO THE CHILDREN'S ROSARY THAT WE MAY BLANKET THE EARTH WITH PEOPLE WANTING TO BE THE EXTENDED HANDS OF MARY AND JESUS. AMEN
We are excited to share that we have a recording of the children leading the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. We invite you to pray with them as you say your novena.

Palm Sunday in Uganda 2019
One of the things I love about the Children's Rosary is seeing glimpses into the traditions and cultures of the different places where Children's Rosary groups exist. Each group is beautiful and adds to the tapestry of prayer that extends across the globe.
I particularly like this picture of the tiny child who has stepped out in front of the clergy leading the procession. She appears to be going the wrong way but the priest or deacon dressed in white seems to be looking down with delight to see this little one coming to meet them.
Palm Sunday in Pakistan 2019
Today we received lots of pictures from our Children's Rosary groups in Pakistan.
Six Children's Rosary groups participated in Palm Sunday processions. We wanted to share some of the pictures they sent.
Some of the children carried plates with rose petals which they threw as they walked through the streets.
Some of the kids helped in making signs showing the Cross, the Eucharist and the words Palm Sunday.

Days of Thanksgiving
Yesterday was the 8th Anniversary of the Children's Rosary. In anticipation of the anniversary a nine day novena of Masses was completed leading up to the Anniversary. Beginning on April 1st 2019, and for 9 days three Masses a day were said for the fulfillment of Our Lady's plans for the Children's Rosary. On April 10th, our anniversary, a novena of Masses was begun in thanksgiving. These will conclude on Holy Thursday. Each day 3 Masses are being said in Thanksgiving.
These days of thanksgiving are some of my most favorite. Things become very simple. There is also a trust that comes. We trust God has heard our prayers for the fulfillment of Our Lady's plans for the Children's Rosary. Now our role is to thank Him through prayer. We walk forward not knowing what lies ahead. We are seeing that often some of God's greatest gifts are trials that strengthen our faith. Through these trials we learn even greater trust in Him and grow in childlike simplicity....knowing God is in control of all the parts. We see more clearly that Our Lady's plans may draw us to work that may be interior and less exterior. While I had thought that our 8th anniversary might be highlighted by an announcement of a project we had hoped would be completed, I saw that instead Our Lord last night was drawing our family into a deeper level of prayer and understanding of God's love for us. Maybe others of you who are part of the Children's Rosary are feeling drawn to a deeper level of prayer and also a greater awareness of God's sacrifices for us through Jesus' Passion.
I thank those who so kindly made donations to help us with this Novena of Masses. In total 54 Masses will be said. May God bless you.
