New Children's Rosary in Trowbridge, England

A new Children's Rosary has formed at St. John the Baptist Church in Trowbridge, England. Their first meeting was March 6, 2022. At the first meeting there were 8 families (17 children) and 13 adults.

The pictures included in this post were all sent this week from the Children's Rosary group leader. All the children especially the little ones very much enjoyed placing the fresh flowers at the foot of Our Lady. In the photo above, one of the older children accompanies a littler one in placing a flower before a statue of Our Lady.

The group leader had a creative idea of how to use the Children's Rosary logo on stickers. She added a cute note on each homemade treat that was sent home with a child at the end of the meeting.

She also used the stickers on candles to make them special for her Children's Rosary.

After each Children's Rosary group leader registers a group and is approved, they then have access to our Children's Rosary logo. The logo is currently available in English, Spanish and French. This logo can be added to stickers as is shown below.

We welcome the children and families from Trowbridge, England to the Children's Rosary!

Special Mother's Day Children's Rosary In Ireland

Last Sunday was Mother's Day in the UK and Ireland. The Children's Rosary at the Oasis of Peace Centre in Collon, Ireland planned a very special day.

The following note was sent along with the pictures:

With great joy I attach photos of our Children's Rosary from Oasis of Peace Mellifont yesterday Mothers day 27th March, we were blessed with the sunshiney weather and it was such a beautiful afternoon - we invited the children to pray in front of the Blessed Sacrament for Eucharistic Adoration and then we had a candlelight procession to Our Lady's grotto outside beside the Stations of the Cross and the children prayed the Glorious Mysteries presenting a rose for each decade.
We had about 60 children and parents - Our Lady was smiling down so lovingly on them all what a wonderful day.

Launch of Our Lady's Victory Garden

We were excited to launch the website “Our Lady’s Victory Garden” on March 25, 2022. Spring has just begun and we hope to encourage many families and individuals to put in a Victory Garden this year. It has always been a blessing to have a kitchen garden but given the world events it is even more important to take the dive into gardening. We will be taking you along with us as we garden all four seasons. We have traditionally used almost no pesticides and very little fertilizers relying on old techniques that involve improving soil quality with organic matter from your yard and kitchen.  This is particularly important as the large farmers are struggling to find accessible and affordable fertilizers this year. Those on tiny pieces of land can use alternative methods to improve the soil.

We plan our garden using companion planting principals to help improve the health of the plants and limit disease and harmful insects. Certain plants have a beneficial and even protective effect on other plants. We share our exact garden plan with you so you can join us on this journey. We are providing videos to accompany our posts. Thus far we have released videos on planning your gardengrowing mushrooms and winter gardening in a greenhouse. In the coming week we hope to release several more including at least one video on starting your own vegetables and annuals from seed.

Our videos are not like the quick how to videos you might find on the internet which explain how to grow one type of plant. Instead we walk you through our day to day experiences for all four seasons in growing our food. Many of you may have experienced through prayer that God calls us to greater simplicity of life. Helping to bring food to your table embraces this way of life.

Please consider sharing our website and videos with friends. It will be very important this year in particular that we all contribute to producing even a small amount of food. As many of you know I have a significant genetic joint disability. You will see that we have adapted our growing to bring our gardening to waist level. Those with bad backs may also like this idea or anyone who prefers to stand as opposed to kneel while they garden. Our Lady's Victory Garden is on our small quarter acre property in an urban/suburban area. We try to squeeze as many food producing plants, bushes and trees into an area as we can. Thus many may see that even though you may have tiny yards or even just a patio area there is potential to grow food for you and your family.

Thank you all and I look forward to you joining us in the garden.
Your Friend in Christ,
Blythe

Pope's Consecration of Russia and Ukraine March 25, 2022

Unite in prayer today with the Holy Father as he Consecrates Russia and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.  The Pope will pray the Act of Consecration today at 6:30 pm local time in Rome which will be 1:30 pm Eastern and 10:30 am Pacific time. Bishops around the world will also be holding local events. Here in the Archdiocese of Hartford, Archbishop Blair will be celebrating 12:10 pm Mass in St. Joseph Cathedral with Consecration to follow.

This is the text of the prayer Pope Francis will use:

O Mary, Mother of God and our Mother, in this time of trial we turn to you. As our Mother, you love us and know us: no concern of our hearts is hidden from you. Mother of mercy, how often we have experienced your watchful care and your peaceful presence! You never cease to guide us to Jesus, the Prince of Peace.

Yet we have strayed from that path of peace. We have forgotten the lesson learned from the tragedies of the last century, the sacrifice of the millions who fell in two world wars. We have disregarded the commitments we made as a community of nations. We have betrayed peoples’ dreams of peace and the hopes of the young. We grew sick with greed, we thought only of our own nations and their interests, we grew indifferent and caught up in our selfish needs and concerns. We chose to ignore God, to be satisfied with our illusions, to grow arrogant and aggressive, to suppress innocent lives and to stockpile weapons. We stopped being our neighbour’s keepers and stewards of our common home. We have ravaged the garden of the earth with war and by our sins we have broken the heart of our heavenly Father, who desires us to be brothers and sisters. We grew indifferent to everyone and everything except ourselves. Now with shame we cry out: Forgive us, Lord!

Anniversary Novena of Masses begins on April 1, 2022

The 11th anniversary of the first meeting of the Children's Rosary is on April 10, 2022. We have made it an annual tradition to offer a novena of Masses for the 9 days prior to the anniversary for the fulfillment of Our Lady's plans for the Children's Rosary. This will be followed by 9 days of Masses in thanksgiving starting on April 10. Given that Good Friday and Holy Saturday fall within the 9 days of thanksgiving we will extend our novena of Masses to conclude on April 20. The support for this effort has always been strong and for the past several years we were able to have three Masses offered on each of the 18 days. Please consider making a donation to help with our arrangement of Masses to be celebrated. We also welcome individuals arranging Masses to be said at their local Church.

A Children's Rosary Group Gets Creative

We wanted to share a trifold exhibit that a Children's Rosary group made at Holy Spirit Church in McAllen, Texas, USA. This will be display on March 26 and 27, 2022 at the entrance of the Church. They have featured pictures from their Children's Rosary meetings as well as the 33 day Consecration journey they made using the book Child Consecration: To Jesus through Mary—Following in the Spirit of St. Thérèse, the Little Flower.

The next Children's Rosary at Holy Spirit Church will be held at 4:30 pm local time on March 26, 2022.

We like to share how different Children's Rosary groups are trying to evangelize and involve more people from their parish as this can serve as an example for other groups.

More information about the Child Consecration book can be found at www.childconsecration.com

New Children's Rosary to Meet in Hamburg, Germany on March 19, 2022

We are excited to share some exciting news. A second Children's Rosary group is forming in the city of Hamburg. We received this correspondence from the new group: "We will be doing the first Children's Rosary in the Chapel of the Spanish Mission on March 19th at 11am. We are a group of Catholic mothers from Latin America married to Germans." She went on to explain that "Later we want to pray the Children's Rosary in other German-speaking parishes and spread devotion and love to our Heavenly Mother. Thank you for creating the website in German. It will serve as a tool when we start praying the Rosary in German." The above flyer was made by the new group which they sent to us.

Recently we completed a Children's Rosary website in German consider visiting the new site: kinderrosenkranz.com

Interestingly, we had a new Children's Rosary group register from Mexico this past week and they have also chosen March 19th as their first meeting date.

We warmly welcome these new Children's Rosary groups to our tapestry of prayer.
