Happy Eleventh Anniversary of the Children's Rosary

Today we met for the Children's Rosary in the very chapel where our first meeting was held 11 years ago today. It was a small group of us, but we felt great blessings. Peyton, age five, has grown up over the past three years coming to the Children's Rosary. She has a great love of Our Blessed Mother and the Rosary. She led several decades today and also at the end of the Rosary was so excited to lead our theme song, "Rosary Children".

This year we have been able to arrange 5 Masses each day of the 18 day Anniversary Novena of Masses. Yesterday concluded our 9 days of Masses for the Fulfillment of Our Lady's Plans for the Children's Rosary. Today began the daily Masses in Thanksgiving. In total we will have at least 90 Masses celebrated over the 18 days.

Thank you to all who participate in the Children's Rosary or help in any way.

Children's Rosary Turns Ten!

The Children's Rosary turned ten on April 10th 2021. At the home parish of the Children's Rosary, St. Thomas the Apostle, we had our monthly Children's Rosary on Sunday.

We celebrated the Anniversary first by making special cupcakes decorated each with the number ten. These were given in little containers to the children and adults who attended the Children's Rosary.
We had a lovely Rosary led by the children. Children in turns helped to lead the prayers and they also helped in placing roses at the foot of Our Lady. Sean attended the Rosary. Many may remember Sean. He was in our theme song video. Kostin was leading him out of the Church as he is blind. It was very touching to see Kostin now significantly taller still helping Sean by taking a rose from him to place at Our Lady's feet at the end of the second decade.

Asher who was only 4 years old when the Children's Rosary began, had prepared something special for the day. He had learned to play our theme song "Rosary Children" on the guitar. Being rather self conscious as most 14 year olds are at that age, he waited to play the song for Our Lady after almost everyone had left the Church. It was a private gift from a child to his Heavenly Mother.
Our Anniversary novena of Masses continue. For nine days leading up to the anniversary Masses were said for the fulfillment of Our Lady's plans for the Children's Rosary. Thirty Masses were said in total for that intention. Starting on April 10th daily Masses were celebrated in thanksgiving. These will continue until April 18th. We anticipate 36 Masses to be celebrated in total in thanksgiving.

We thank God for the many blessings He has bestowed on the Children's Rosary. We also thank all of you who have helped in so many ways over these last ten years. May God bless you all.

Celebrating the Feast of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary 2018

Today is a beautiful Feast, one that is very special to the Children's Rosary. We wish to celebrate and share pictures of the children. We often share pictures of boxes of Rosaries being sent out. Prayers are said and we pray that these efforts are fruitful. Today we share pictures of the result of these boxes. We see the reaction of children receiving a rosary of their own.

Many have prayed, sacrificed and fasted. We thank you. I hope you take joy in seeing the children. The picture above is of one of our new Children's Rosary groups. It is at St. Benedict Parish llungu which is in Southern Tanzania. We had sent a large box of 500 rosaries and Children's Rosary materials including Children's Rosary books this past summer.
Br. Peter a seminarian from the Mbeya Diocese, carried these materials to the parish which is located approximately 43 miles east of Mbeye. The region is rural and most of the economic activities are centered around potato farming. The weather is not very hot in this mountainous area which is why potatoes grow well.

This new group has been meeting weekly on Sundays after the 8:30 AM Mass. Now during the month of October they are meeting on both Tuesday and Fridays at 4PM local time. Some of the children attending are from the Safwa Tribe.
We also want to share pictures from one of our Children's Rosary groups celebrating their one year Anniversary today. This is our Children's Rosary in Malay Aklan, Philippines. The children had written out the words to our theme song "Rosary Children" and posted them on the wall for the children to learn and then sing.
They held a celebration today of their Anniversary, October 7th, with prayers and food.

We thank the Children's Rosary in Malay and all the groups that continue faithfully in their meetings. This is a great gift to give to Our Lady both the new groups and the groups that continue faithfully. We imagine Our Lady smiling to see the children with Rosary in hand praying.

May God bless you all on this Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary!

The Children's Rosary Turns Two in Vietnam

June 24th 2018 was the two year anniversary of the first meeting of the Children's Rosary in Vietnam. There has been a beautiful unfolding of new groups in the country over the past two years. Leading the spread of the new groups has been a group of dynamic and very prayerful young people including Tran who helped to begin the first group at the age of 16.  On June 28th 2018 a special Mass in honor of the Children's Rosary was celebrated by Father Dominic Khang at St. Martin's Sanctuary. Individuals who have helped the Children's Rosary in Vietnam were there. One person even flew in for the Mass. In a special way during the Mass, they remembered Sister Dang who ran a Children's Rosary at Bui Chu orphanage prior to her passing. The children continue to meet at Bui Chu orphanage.

In honor of the anniversary a rosary made out of small cakes. This can be seen on a table in the two pictures above.  We thank all those in Vietnam who have helped with the Children's Rosary.
May God bless you all.

Mass held in the Philippines to Celebrate the 7 Year Anniversary of the Children's Rosary

The Children's Rosary from San Isidro Parish Cathedral held a special Anniversary Mass on April 10th. We received this note from the group leader on April 11th:
We celebrated Children's Rosary Founding Anniversary yesterday. We offered a Mass presided by Fr. Juverson Mabasa at Sto. Niño Chapel, Barangay 9, Malaybalay City. Here are the pictures:

The group leader shared that she was able to make arroz caldo for a snack after the Mass for the children. More more I am seeing through the years and the reports of different groups, that having little snacks of food when possible for the children after meetings or on special celebrations is a welcome addition.

We are so grateful for the special effort the children and adults made to remember the beginning of the Children's Rosary. In keeping with the example of Our Lady who always points to her Son, it is beautiful to see the children remembering the day by attending a Mass. The Mass was held on the exact Anniversary date of Tuesday April 10th.

We also received word that there are efforts to begin an additional Children's Rosary group in Malaybalay. Please keep these efforts and the group leader who has had poor health, requiring hospitalization, in your prayers. Thank you.

Anniversary Surprise!

We received these pictures from Pakistan last night on the eve of the 7th Anniversary of the Children's Rosary. The children worked very hard first tracing an outline of the Rosary with chalk and then placing by hand each candle.

Slowly the candles were lit and the full Rosary became illuminated. Breathtaking!

We have spoken many times of how the children's prayers are like twinkling lights illuminating the darkness...how these lights might be seen from heaven.

We thank the children for this beautiful gift on the Anniversary of the Children's Rosary. Their little hearts who have embraced prayer and are directed to heaven are an inspiration to all of us.

Children's Rosary 7 Year Anniversary Celebration

Today we celebrated the Children's Rosary Anniversary. The Children's Rosary has been meeting monthly uninterrupted for 7 years at St. Thomas the Apostle Parish in West Hartford, Connecticut USA. This is the home of the Children's Rosary. From the beginning, we have met on the second Sunday of the month. This year the second Sunday of the month fell on Divine Mercy celebration.

In keeping with our tradition the children met at 9:45 AM in our lower chapel. This week we had a wonderful surprise. The missionary image of Our Lady of Guadalupe was in the region and we were asked if we would like to have Our Lady at the Children's Rosary. We were thrilled to accept such a beautiful offer.

This morning we had many children attend who have been involved with the Children's Rosary from the early years.

One women in attendance shared that she felt her heart fill with love as she entered the chapel for the Children's Rosary. We felt great joy today. We carried all the members of the Children's Rosary with us in prayer. We also prayed for all of those unifying in prayer with us. We began the meeting with a Re-Consecration of the Children's Rosary to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary. We continue to put this individual group as well as the Children's Rosary prayer group movement as a whole under the protection and guidance of Christ and His Mother.

A handmade card was also made for Our Lady which we placed before the children praying. Within the card listed the Masses we have requested both for the fulfillment of Our Lady's plans for the Children's Rosary and also the Masses in thanksgiving.

At the conclusion of the prayers the children sang our theme song "Rosary Children". One of the individuals who brought the Missionary Image of Our Lady of Guadalupe had brought a first class relic of St. Therese the Little Flower to the meeting. This was another sweet surprise for the children. We also have a first class relic of St. Faustina that is kept in the Chapel. Both relics were made available for veneration at the end of the Rosary (veneration of the relics shown below).

Following the Children's Rosary, there was Mass and then a special Bruch to celebrate the anniversary. During the brunch, there was an opportunity to learn how to make a Rosary. We are grateful for all those whole helped today. Some brought food and some helped in teaching others how to make Rosaries.
Everyone had their fill and yet there was more left over. The extra was packed up and brought to Immaculate Conception Shelter where more people could enjoy the abundance. God is good all the time.

One of the little things we did to make the day special was to have a Cupcake Rosary. The children had helped to make the cupcakes. Asher decided with each cupcake he frosted he would say a Hail Mary for Our Lady's Intentions.

He was very particular that the prayers be started only once he began frosting the cupcake. Alina and I followed his lead and accompanied his prayers. Each cupcake had a Hail Mary said. Each time he picked up a new cupcake we also chose a different saint and asked that saint to pray for us. This took the project of frosting the cupcakes and infused it with prayer. Excitement grew as we waited to see who each person would choose to ask for their prayers. There was only one saint mentioned per cupcake. We took turns so there was some patience needed as one would think of a perfect saint to mention but we had to wait our turn to say the saint. The saints have become friends and so it comes to mind often to ask for their help. Our Lady in her school of the Rosary has opened the children's hearts to the saints and learning about them and asking for their help. Today as people took their cupcakes we shared how each cupcake represented prayers that had been said. This made it extra special. To the little children that came to take the cupcakes we also asked them if they would say a Hail Mary for Our Lady before they ate the cupcake. Some stopped in the line of food and said the prayer even before finding a seat. Indeed prayers were woven throughout the day. But this was not burdensome. There was a joy mingled with everything.

One last thing to share. In anticipation of the anniversary we painted a platter with the Children's Rosary logo. This was hand painted and then fired in a kiln. It was a gift to Our Lady.

We thank all those who help with the Children's Rosary in so many different ways. The Children's Rosary represents a tapestry of people and children from around the world. When we give anything to Our Lady it comes from all of us.

On this Feast of Divine Mercy may God shower graces and blessings on all the members of the Children's Rosary and your dear families.

God Bless You!

A Gift from Vietnam

The Children's Rosary in Vietnam celebrated their 1 year Anniversary on June 24th 2017! They wanted to share the cake they made and a special gift with you.
They have arranged to have three Masses celebrated for members of the Children's Rosary in the coming days in Vietnam.
A Mass will be celebrated by Fr. Khoa, ICM at Minh Giao Parish (pictured below) on June 27th and 28th at 17:15 local time in Vietnam.
A Mass will be celebrated by Fr. Tuan at Da Lat Chapel at 9:30 AM local time in Vietnam.
Two members of the Children's Rosary, Tran and Joseph, are visiting these Parishes this week some 6 hours from their home in a mountainous region of Vietnam. They have been so kind to offer these Masses and they also wanted to share that they will be praying the Rosary at 19PM local time at Minh Giao Parish daily from June 27-30. Consider unifying prayers with them.  Please also pray for them during this visit.

Anniversary Mass for the Children's Rosary in Malaybalay City, Philippines

Today we received these beautiful pictures from the Mass offered on the Anniversary of the founding of the Children's Rosary (April 10th). The Mass was celebrated by Fr. Bonifacio Cabaya at San Ignacio de Loyola sub parish at Kalasungay, Malaybalay City Philippines.

Forty children who are part of the Children's Rosary in Malaybalay City were able to attend.
The Mass was offered for the Fulfillment of Our Lady's Plans for the Children's Rosary.

The children were very much a part of the Mass. Two of the younger children carried candles while several other children followed bringing up gifts for the offertory.

The children all gathered together following the Mass for a celebratory lunch!

Today is the last day that we have Masses offered for the Fulfillment of Our Lady's plans for the Children's Rosary. In total we had 41 Masses offered for this intention in honor of the Anniversary of the beginning of the Children's Rosary on April 10th.  On Easter Sunday we will begin a nine day novena of Masses in Thanksgiving.

A Gift of Infinite Value

Today was the 6 year anniversary of the first meeting of the Children's  Rosary.  It has become a yearly tradition to give Our Lady a special gift on the anniversary.  The gift the children humbly share is a 9 day novena of Masses leading up to the anniversary.  Last year we were able to have two Masses offered daily on the 9 days preceding the anniversary.  This year we were able to offer three Masses daily for the nine days.  All were offered for the fulfillment of Our Lady's plans for the Children's Rosary.  There were many people who contributed to help in providing donations for the Masses.  Fr. Jude Ssali who is the Pastor of Our Lady of Fatima Parish in Uganda wrote that he would offer one Mass on each of the 9 days himself. Fr. Jude Ssali is pictured above with the Children's Rosary group in his parish.

Today 6 Masses were said for the fulfillment of Our Ladies plans for the Children's Rosary. (A Mass for each year!) One of the Masses was offered at San Ignacio de Loyola sub parish in Kalasungay, Malaybalay City Philippines by the Children's Rosary groups there. Given the outpouring of love that we received for the anniversary we were able to also request 4 Masses on April 11th and 4 Masses on April 12th also for the fulfillment of Our Lady's plans for the Children's Rosary. This brings the grand total of Masses said in petition to 41. We will follow this up with a novena of Masses in Thanksgiving beginning on Easter Sunday. There is still time to contribute to this effort.  It would give us great joy to offer more Masses in Thanksgiving then we offered in petition.  How happy would Our Heavenly Mother be to see that her children did not forget to thank their Father in Heaven.  Indeed each mother always asks her children...did you say thank you?  We wish to bow our heads and extend our hands with an armful of Masses.

A very special thank you to all who have helped with this gift of Masses which has infinite value and all who are part of the tapestry of prayer that comprises the Children's Rosary.

The Children's Rosary Turns Five

Tomorrow is the fifth anniversary of the Children's Rosary.  Yesterday during Mass, the Gospel of the Feeding of the Five Thousand was read.  The priest took the opportunity to focus on the role of the little boy in his homily who gave his five barely loaves and two fish.  A simple calculation of the numbers would have concluded that such a gift would not meet the vast need that lay before them.  Even Andrew says, "There is a boy here who has five barley loaves and two fish; but what good are these for so many?"(John 6:9) Yet Our Lord used the selfless gift of this child and through it fed all present with yet more bread and fish left over.  Twelve baskets full we are told in Scripture (John 6:13). As the priest yesterday spoke of the boy my mind went to the Children's Rosary.

In simplicity, a small group of children came together five years ago.  They gave their little prayers to God.  The rest was His grace and Divine Providence and a great many other people both little and old saying "Yes" as well. In anticipation of the anniversary of the Children's Rosary we have been offering up two Masses a day for 9 days for the fulfillment of Our Lady's Plans for the Children's Rosary.  Today is the last of these Masses.  Tomorrow Masses will begin for 9 days in thanksgiving.  This year we had more people asking to sponsor thanksgiving Masses in particular then in previous years.  Thinking back to the first year we had these novenas of Masses most people asked to sponsor days of petition.  This year was an interesting change.  There were those who gave and did not specify dates, people drawn to a date for a specific reason and the rest wishing to sponsor Masses of thanksgiving.  This was a beautiful thing to see.  So many hearts wanting only to thank God, a disposition which surely brings a smile to Our Lord's face.

May I humbly thank all of you for your "Yes"!  All the many who have helped and participated in the Children's Rosary.  Each of our little gifts or talents is small but Our Lord uses these opportunities in his hands to do so much.  With so many now connected together, a great many of these being children, we look forward with hope in our hearts.

We are blessed to have many Children's Rosary groups meeting over the next few days.  Please consider joining the children in prayer.  The children always pray for those unifying prayers with them.
