Papal Mass in Dublin

Yesterday we attended the Papal Mass in Dublin. There was one experience during the Mass that I wanted to humbly share with you. It was during communion.

As communion time approached a line of priests began to come from the altar. They passed by us two by two. They each held a ciborium with the Blessed Sacrament. My heart ached to see such a sight. It was an experience of seeing the Good Shepherd - Our Lord feeding His Sheep. Those in attendance were more then 300,000 all waiting to receive Our Lord. My son took a picture of the screen which showed the sea of people and one thin line of priests going out. As we could see the line of priests on the screen we also could see more priests continuing to pass us from the altar. It was an incredible sight to behold. Please know that you were with us. In a special way I prayed for you during the Mass. I prayed for all the members of the Children's Rosary and all who help the Children's Rosary.

An Evening with the Pope in Dublin

Last night we were able to attend the Festival of Families in Dublin. Pope Francis attended. The evening was held in Croke Park stadium. We arrived at the stadium at 3:15. The Pope arrived after 6PM. He entered in his Pope vehicle and made several circles through the crowds.
We were high in the stands and had a fantastic view.

Before the Pope arrived there was a procession of people with flags from different countries throughout the world.

The first performance was a tremendous RiverDance. Children made a circle around the crowds and as the song concluded they stood and began to dance together with those on the stage. It was fantastic!
We made some lovely friends in the stands as we waited several hours for the evening to begin. Several Franciscan friars were there and Capuchin friars. We are leaving in just minutes to go to the Papal Mass. We will keep you all in prayer.

Days of Blessings at the WMOF

One of my children took these pictures from the balcony at the World Meeting of Families in Dublin. Our Children's Rosary booth is behind the orange arrow that at a distance looks like a cross. One can see from the pictures there were many many pilgrims walking through.

They recorded so far 37,000 pilgrims have gone through over the 3 days. The booths opened at 8AM and closed at 8PM. We met so many wonderful families and priests over the days.

Many Children's Rosary books were given away. Many shared their hope to begin Children's Rosary groups in their parishes and schools. Pray with us that these seeds take root. Asher helped me at the booth all three days answering questions especially to the pilgrims who spoke only Spanish. The picture above was a family living in England who are originally from Uganda. They will be traveling back to Uganda on September 6th 2018. We gave them Children's Rosary books and Rosaries to help them initiate a Children's Rosary in their village in Uganda.

We were able to visit with our good friend Mons. Fuentes the Bishop of Minas, Uruguay. He has been helping to promote the Children's Rosary in his home Diocese and has a Children's Rosary at the Cathedral Parish in Minas. We are most grateful for his help and prayers.
Tomorrow Pope Francis will arrive in Ireland. We welcome him.

Two Days...Two Rainbows during the WMOF Masses

We would like to share with you that during Mass at the World Meeting of Families today a beautiful double rainbow came across Dublin. My husband traveling in Dublin was able to capture it when one part of the double rainbow was visible. Yesterday likewise during the outdoor Mass there was a double rainbow. My husband was able to photograph the rainbow after one part of the double rainbow had faded. The rainbow from yesterday is shown above and the rainbow today is below.

WMOF Dublin

Dear Friends,
Today was the first day of the World Meeting of Families (WMOF). The booths opened at 8AM at the exhibit hall and did not close until 8AM. We met many wonderful pilgrims throughout the day. We have been able to begin our day attending Mass at 7:30AM at the Poor Clare's Chapel. Earlier this week we were able to meet Sr. Brigid one of the nuns at the Monastery. She gave us permission to put our our Children's Rosary bookmarks at the chapel. As they have Adoration during the day there are many coming in and out. We have attached a picture of the monastery. It is very beautiful.

Keeping you all in prayer.
More to come this week....

Your Friend in Christ,
Blythe

With perfect timing that only God could arrange, the barrel with 5,292 rosaries, 1,000 Children's Rosary books, and two statues of Our Lady was picked up by Fr. Richard on the Feast of the Assumption. Before leaving, Fr. Richard blessed the barrel and its contents. The destination of the barrel is Uganda.

Jesus Placed Children in the Center of His Ministry

Today at Mass the Gospel of Matthew was read: "Amen, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will not enter the Kingdom of heaven. Whoever becomes humble like this child is the greatest in the Kingdom of heaven. And whoever receives one child such as this in my name receives me".(Matthew 18:3-5)

Our Pastor began his homily today reflecting on this Scripture. He stating that, "Jesus placed children in the center of His Ministry". Children indeed were important to Jesus and he made a point of calling them to Himself.

Yesterday the Children's Rosary received a package with 19 handmade rosaries. A note was included it read:

Hi my name is Henry and I am eight years old.  I made these rosaries to share with other people. Thank you for sharing these rosaries with other children. God Bless you.
Henry

Seeing this note I was reminded of what our Pastor said this morning. It must give Our Lord great joy to see children praying and also to see children helping other children come to prayer.

We would like to thank Henry for his service to Our Lord and witness of faith.

Happy Feast of St. Maximilian Kolbe!

New Children's Rosary at St. Benedict Parish in Tanzania

Yesterday a new Children's Rosary held their first meeting at St. Benedict Parish Ilungu in southern Tanzania. This parish is located in the Diocese of Mbeya. The children who are part of this new Children's Rosary group are part of the Safwa Tribe in rural Tanzania. The economic activities of this area are primarily potato farming.

In June we had sent Br. Peter 500 Rosaries and 10 Children's Rosary books to help begin a Children's Rosary. We are excited to see that a new group has begun. The children will meet each Sunday.

We welcome the children of St. Benedict Parish to the Children's Rosary.

The Children's Rosary is Going to the WMOF in Dublin

We are excited to share that the Children's Rosary will have a booth at the World Meeting of Families in Dublin, Ireland. Since our last visit to the World Meeting of Families in Philadelphia in 2015 we have been looking forward to the WMOF in Dublin. We met many wonderful people in Philadelphia and many beautiful fruits came through the meeting with new groups beginning in Nigeria, Ecuador, Zimbabwe, Uruguay and in Alaska, USA.

We have been preparing for the big trip to Ireland. This preparation has included many prayers which have been said. We also were able to send three boxes of Children's Rosary books to Dublin. These materials we will be giving away. Each Children's Rosary book is a seed for a new group. Thus we hope to give away many seeds at the Meeting. Please spread the word that we will be there and tell your friends or priests from your area to come and visit us. We have little planned for our trip and we simply pray that Our Lady will arrange everything. For those attending, the Children's Rosary booth will be in the first exhibit hall - booth number 137. Please come and visit us.

Please pray for our trip and that all Our Lady and Our Lord wish to be accomplished will be realized. We will be praying for all of you. We will carry all the members of the Children's Rosary in our heart during the visit.

Please stay close to the blog in the next two weeks as we hope to chronicle the visit.

We leave for Ireland on August 15th: the Feast of the Assumption.
Thank you all and God Bless you. Amen.

We Now Know How Many Rosaries Fit in the Barrel.....

"Whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully"  (2 Cor 9:6). This was from the first reading at Mass today.

Returning home a note was waiting. The email shared good news. Fr. Jude to whom we were planning on sending the barrel had written. Fr. Jude currently oversees a number of Children's Rosary groups both in his parish and at St. Denis School in Uganda.

"Greetings from the children. The work is going on well. I have many
children now. Am now in charge of Schools in the whole Parish. We have
about eighteen schools with more than 5000 children!"

I marveled to see the timing. It seemed Our Lord had arranged everything. Fr. Jude would have all the supplies he needed to continue to spread the Children's Rosary in Uganda.

We were able to also include 2 statues of Our Lady of Fatima in the package. One of which would help a Children's Rosary group in a different region on Uganda.

All three of my children spent a good portion of the day helping to count and arrange all the rosaries for the barrel. A close count was done of each rosary placed in the barrel. All the rosaries shown in the photo above were put in the barrel and yet there was still more room. We continued to fill the barrel until it reached the top. In addition to rosaries 1,000 Children's Rosary books were included.

The grand total of rosaries......

5,292

Most of the rosaries included were handmade. All the rosaries in the barrel were donated to the Children's Rosary. Many hands contributed to making these rosaries. We are grateful for the help of so many. We were also able to include 25 brown scapulars.
We tried to chronicle the filling of the barrel. First the books went in.

Then the statues.

Lastly we placed all the rosaries. We were surprised how many fit into the barrel.

We kept adding them and yet there was more room. More and more went in until it was full to the brim. We were so happy to see it filled. Fr. Richard from our parish in Connecticut will be picking up the barrel on Wednesday the Feast of the Assumption. Our Lady gave us a great gift in having the opportunity to send this barrel. We are thankful that the barrel will begin the journey on Our Lady's Feast. The barrel will not be loaded on a ship until late August. Once on the ship it will have a 3 month journey to ultimately reach Uganda. Please pray for the safe delivery of this container. It is a treasure to be sure.

We hope that many will want to play a role in sending this package. The cost of 1,000 Children's Rosary books, statues and the shipping is significant. We are in need of donations to help cover the expenses. Donations can be made electronically HERE or mailed directly to Children's Rosary.

How Many Rosaries Do you Think will Fit in this Barrel?

The Children's Rosary received a gift. A Ugandan priest from our parish is helping us to send a large container to Uganda. While the Children's Rosary will cover the cost of the shipping the wonderful priest from our parish is helping to arrange transportation of the container to the point of departure from Connecticut. Given a disability that prevents me from driving, arranging such a thing without his help would not be possible.

We are so excited to fill this barrel. It feels like Christmas time. We will be donating Children's Rosary books and lots and lots of Rosaries for the children in Uganda. There are many new groups forming in Uganda and the groups that are already meeting continue to grow. This barrel which we hope to fill to the brim, will help to put a Rosary in the hands of many children and also provide Children's Rosary books which are the seeds for new groups. Packing of the barrel will happen this week and we hope to share more pictures of the process.  We hope to answer the question of how many Rosaries will fit in this barrel.  Any guesses?

A Week of Blessings at the CMN Trade Show in Lancaster

The CMN trade show came to a close on Friday. This wrapped up a week visit to Lancaster Pennsylvania. The picture above was taken at our Children's Rosary booth. We are extremely grateful to the Gasse family for helping us with the Children's Rosary at the trade show. The children beautifully led a Children's Rosary on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at the Trade Show. The Gasse children left on Friday to return to Connecticut where they led their monthly Children's Rosary at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception today in Waterbury, Connecticut.

This week was full of blessings and surprises. One of the most wonderful surprises was meeting the Children's Rosary group leader of San Juan Bautista Parish in Lancaster. This meeting was providential as we were praying in Adoration at this Church on Friday when the group leader entered. Seeing our shirts she came up to us and we had the most glorious meeting. We had not realized that a Children's Rosary group existed at this parish when we first came to Lancaster. Although the group was registered I had not made the connection while we were there. Yet, Our Lord makes up for our failings and even though I did not remember God supplied. The opportunity to meet this group leader was not lost. God saw to this. We were overjoyed to meet and Asher was able to speak to her in Spanish which was also a blessing.

We are most grateful for all the prayers this week for the trip. You all were in our prayers as well.

Some may notice the addition of Children's Rosary T-Shirts in these pictures. We are so excited to have new official Children's Rosary shirts! In the coming weeks, we will be releasing information on how to order shirts. This week we wore the Children's Rosary shirts each day of the conference. There is something very special about wearing an image of Our Lady. We not only wore the shirts at the trade show but also walking all around town. The reaction to the shirts was always positive. We found many people smiling when they saw us. Indeed, it was a blessed week with many little seeds of the Children's Rosary given away. We do not know what these will yield but we pray and trust in God.

We thank God for the many graces and blessings that came this week.

We also wish you all a most blessed Feast of St. Jean Marie Vianney.

Feast of Our Lady of the Angels

Happy Feast of Our Lady of the Angels.

Today a Mass was celebrated for the sanctification of those who are "core lights" on our Children's Rosary website www.childrensrosary.org.

Core lights are people who have committed to "Join in Prayer" for 30 minutes a day and add their gold twinkling light to our View from Heaven map.

To all our "Core Lights," thank you for being a light in the darkness and through your prayers encouraging others to join in prayer. May God Bless You.

If anyone is interested in learning more about becoming a "Core Light" please contact Blythe at blythe@childrensrosary.org

The picture above was taken today at the Catholic Marketing Network Conference. As members of the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal were helping at the Conference, they had set up a little chapel in honor of the third Church Saint Francis restored. The Church was named after Our Lady of the Angels. We were able to go inside the chapel they constructed in honor of the Church in Italy. Br. Simon was able to pray with us inside the chapel. In a special way he prayed for the Children's Rosary Apostolate with us.

Children's Rosary at the CMN Trade Show in Lancaster

These are pictures from yesterdays Children's Rosary held at the Catholic Marketing Network Trade Show. The Children led the Rosary at 7AM before Mass.

The traveling Missionary Image of Our Lady of Guadalupe was present on the altar and the children were able to place roses at her feet at the end of each decade. Following Mass there was a Eucharistic procession to a chapel set up for Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.

Today the children will again hold a Children's Rosary at 5PM. There will be a Mass after the Rosary.

Thank you for your prayers and we continue to keep you in our prayers.

We wish you a Happy Feast of St. Peter Julian Eymard!
