Mass Offered Tomorrow for Seminarians

A Mass will be offered tomorrow for all seminarians that they will grow in holiness and lead us all in love.  This is something the Children's Rosary does on the first of each month. As our seminarians will be the future shepherds and our children are the future flock it seemed a beautiful way for the children to help.

The picture above is of Br. Cleophus a seminarian.  He has started over 12 Children's Rosary groups in Kenya.  Members of the Children's Rosary group from Holy Family Church in Entara are in the picture with Br. Cleophus.  They held their first Children's Rosary group on June 5th 2016.  This new group meets weekly each Sunday at 3PM.

New Children's Rosary Group at San Isidro Parish Cathedral, Malaybalay City

We were very excited to receive these pictures of the Children's Rosary at San Isidro Parish Cathedral in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon, Philippines.  This new Children's Rosary group held their first meeting on May 21st 2016.  Yesterday, on June 26th Bishop Jose Araneta Cabantan of the Diocese of Malaybalay, Consecrated this new Children's Rosary group to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary.  In this way the group is under the protection and guidance of Christ and His Mother.

The Children's Rosary group leader reports that the group has been growing steadily in number since its first meeting on May 21st.  The group meets weekly at the Cathedral each Sunday at 2PM local time.  This is the first Children's Rosary group to form in Bukidnon.

We thank Bishop Jose Araneta Cabantan for his blessing of this new Children's Rosary group and his kindness to the children.

14 New Children's Rosary Groups Form in Kenya!

We have received some wonderful news this week.  Br. Cleophus has shared that 14 new Children's Rosary groups have formed in the region of Rombo, Kenya.  This is a rural region near the border of Tanzania with many small outposts and communities.  The picture above was taken on June 12th 2016.  This is the new Children's Rosary group at St. Mathias Mulumba Maili Tatu.

Please continue to keep Br. Cleophus in your prayers as he has been recovering from an infection in his spinal cord.  Despite this serious illness he continues to try to be present with the children when they meet to pray.  The meeting on June 12th pictured above  he attended after being discharged the prior day from the hospital.

We hope in the coming weeks to continue to feature some of these new Children's Rosary groups that have formed in Kenya.

Mass Offered Tomorrow for all the Members of the Children's Rosary

A Mass will be offered tomorrow, through the Capuchin Missions, for all the members of the Children's Rosary and all who help the Children's Rosary.  We continue to have a Mass said for the this intention on the 25th of each month. The Eucharist is such a powerful gift from Our Lord that when I wanted to extend thanksgiving to all of you I knew of no better way to express my gratitude.  May Our Lord's love be poured down on all of you through the powerful sacrifice of the Holy Mass.

The children pictured above are members of our Children's Rosary from Musa Dughl, Pakistan.

On this beautiful Solemnity of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist we celebrate the gift of so many children joined together around the world through the Children's Rosary.  Their prayers are so precious and we thank each child who kneels with rosaries in hand to offer up their prayers to Heaven.

St. Jean Vianney's Thoughts on Public Prayer

Recently in reading the book the Curé d'Ars to the children, I came upon this beautiful little portion about the power of coming together in prayer which I wanted to share:
"He (St. Jean Vianney) preferred public prayer to private prayers. "Private Prayer," he used to say resembles straw scattered here and there over a field; if it is set on fire, the flame is not a powerful one; but if you gather those scattered straws into a bundle, the flame is bright, and rises in a lofty column towards the sky: such is public prayer."

Indeed we hope these Children's Rosary groups meeting around the world will be like bright lights going up to heaven.  The photo above was taken of eight Children's Rosary groups meeting together at St. Anthony Parish in Ogbodu Aba, Nigeria.  If you would like to consider starting a Children's Rosary group in your parish more information is provided HERE.

Reflections from the Global Rosary Relay for Priests 2016

We received this beautiful picture from our Children's Rosary group at St. Mary's Parish in Pontiac, Illinois USA.  This is the second year they have participated in the Global Rosary Relay for Priests. It was particularly special to see that their parish priest, Fr. Cesarek, joined the children in prayer.

The children joined others praying at over 100 shrines in 50 countries praying in succession for the sanctification of priests.

We also received a note from our Children's Rosary group at St. Mary's Church in Pine Bluff, Wisconsin. They too participated in the Global Rosary Relay for Priests for the second year in a row.  The group leader shared that they decided to hold their monthly Children's Rosary slightly later in the day on June 3rd, so they could unify their prayers with those at the Shrine of Our Lady of Einsiedeln in Switzerland. Our group leader, Kellie, thought this providential as St. Mary's Church in Pine Bluff, WI is very close to "America's Little Switzerland" (New Glarus, WI).  Swiss heritage is very strong in this region so all were excited to have the opportunity to unify prayers with those in Switzerland for the sanctification of our priests.

We hope these prayers of the children on the World Day of Prayer for Priests are a special way for these little ones to help their shepherds.

Mass Offered for Renewal of Family Prayer

A Mass was offered this past Saturday for Renewal of Family Prayer. We have a Mass said for this intention on the first Saturday of every month.  Pope John Paul II was fond of saying, "As the family goes, so goes the nation and so goes the whole world in which we live."

Join Us For the Global Rosary Relay for Priests!

The Children's Rosary has once again been invited to participate in the annual Global Rosary Relay for Priests which begins tomorrow.  This is something we are very excited about and hope many children will want to join in!  The Global Rosary Relay for priests will be held on June 3rd 2016 which is the World Day of Prayer for Priests and the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.  Beginning in Siberia every 15 or 30 minutes a Rosary is led at a different Shrine for the sanctification of priests.  Over 100 Shrines will be participating from over 50 countries.  Pope Francis has even conveyed an Apostolic Blessing to all who participate.  Click HERE to see the schedule of when shrines are meeting.

Members of the Children's Rosary are encouraged to unify prayers with a Shrine of their choosing and pray a Rosary for the sanctification of priests on June 3rd.  Children's Rosary groups already meeting on June 3rd may choose to unify as a group with a Shrine.  Groups  that would not normally meet on June 3rd, could arrange to hold an extra meeting on that day to help add to the prayer power of the day for priests.

Last year members of the Children's Rosary participated and some groups even sent in pictures from their meetings.  We are very grateful to Marion Mulhull, founder of Worldpriest, for inviting the members of the Children's Rosary to participate.
