Children's Rosary at the All Ireland Rosary Rally

An estimated 10,500 people of all ages travelled from all corners of Ireland to attend the annual All Ireland Rosary Rally in Knock International Eucharistic and Marian Shrine in Ireland on Saturday, 1st June 2024. What was particularly remarkable was the number of families and young people who attended. It was very encouraging to see children there from various schools who have Children’s Rosary groups. Several children from the Children’s Rosary led the Rosary on the day.

They were a powerful and beautiful witness to the love that children have for the Rosary. Many people expressed their joy in seeing the children, and commented on how much ‘hope’ it gives them for the future of our Catholic faith. The Children’s Rosary team hosted a Rosary and Scapular making workshop and distributed over 1,500 flyers on the day. Several new Children’s Rosary groups are now forming in schools and parishes since the All-Ireland Rosary Rally this year. During the day, over 200 adults and children took part in Ireland’s first ever Living Rosary, where people both young and old, wearing white and different colour-shirts formed a gigantic Rosary. Dana finished proceedings by singing the hymn which she wrote Our Lady of Knock.

Reflections from the All Ireland Rosary Rally 2023

We are happy to share some pictures from the All Ireland Rosary Rally held at Knock Shrine on June 3, 2023. Members of the Children's Rosary led the Rosary. The last decade was prayed in Irish. In the photo above members of the Children's Rosary and group leaders from various Children's Rosary groups across the country can be seen. Archbishop Eamon Martin also joined the children for the picture and Bishop Doeme of Nigeria, who was the Keynote speaker, can also be seen in the center of the picture.

To view a recording of the children leading the Rosary please see the LINK. The children begin praying at approximately 25:15 minutes into the recording.

A photo of Bishop Doeme at the event is present above. We are in communication with Bishop Doeme about the introduction of the Children's Rosary within his Diocese of Maiduguri, Nigeria.

A special thank you to Catherine McGowan and all the Children's Rosary volunteers who helped to organize the involvement of the Children's Rosary during the event. A special thank you to Fr. Marius O'Reilly for kindly including the Children's Rosary in the events of the day.
