Mass Offered for Seminarians on December 1, 2016

A Mass will be offered tomorrow for all seminarians that they will grow in holiness and lead us all in love.  Every month we have a Mass offered for this intention.  As our seminarians will be the future shepherds and our children are the future flock it seemed a beautiful way for the children to help.

In reading the life of St. Vianney to my children this year we came to the portion about his vocation.  He would confide his true motivation of this vocation to his mother.  "If I were a priest I should gain many souls to God."  St. Vianney, patron saint of priests, is a beautiful example of the fruits that can come through a holy vocation.

Join Us for a Consecration to Jesus Through Mary Beginning November 29th 2016

Photo taken at the Basilica of the National Shrine of
Immaculate Conception in Washington DC
We would like to invite the members of the Children's Rosary to participate in a Consecration to Jesus through Mary beginning November 29th and ending January 1st on the Feast of Mary Mother of God. Our Children’s Rosary groups are Consecrated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary at their first meeting but this would be a way to beautifully place our individual families under the protection of Our Blessed Mother who always leads us on the straightest path to her Son.  For those of you unfamiliar with Consecration to Jesus through Mary it has been blessed and supported by Cardinal Justin Rigali, Bishops and Pope Benedict XVI. Blessed John Paul II urged Catholics to make this Act of Entrustment, which involves ten minutes of private prayer daily, for 33 days, in your home.  Many may be familiar with Totus Tuus which was John Paul’s papal motto. It is a Latin phrase meaning "totally yours" and expressed his personal Consecration to Jesus through Mary.

We would like to again use the 33 days to Morning Glory written by Fr. Gaitley to guide our Consecration.    The book has daily reflections with a short prayer.  The first week contains reflections from writings of St. Louis de Montfort.  The second week has excerpts from St. Maximilian Kolbe; the third St. Teresa of Calcutta and the fourth St. John Paul II.  It spends more time in reflection and less on vocal prayers of litanies.  It was well received last year by many members of the Children's Rosary who joined together for the journey.  We even had wonderful reports of children who loved the readings each night, too. While I am recommending we use the 33 Days to Morning Glory, if you would prefer using a different format this would be fine.  I myself used the traditional St. Louis de Montfort Consecration prayers but also enjoy this contemplative approach.

The 33 Day Consecration prayers traditionally precede a Marian Feast and the Feast that we will be saying our Consecration on is January 1st - the Feast of Mary Mother of God.  Therefore we will begin our prayers on November 29th

Last year many members of the Children's Rosary participated in this 33 day Consecration.  It is always a wonderful practice to renew ones Consecration yearly.  So we again invite those of you who participated last year to join together again.

An organization called My Consecration is offering booklets at a discounted price but only ships in the US and Canada. The link to order the 33 Days to Morning Glory booklet click HERE.

For those unable to obtain the 33 Days to Morning Glory book there is an online version of the St. Louis de Monfort 33 Day Consecration which is a wonderful alternative.

Mass Offered on November 25th 2016 for Members of the Children's Rosary

A Mass was offered today, through the Capuchin Missions, for all the members of the Children's Rosary. We continue to have a Mass said for the this intention on the 25th of each month. The Eucharist is such a powerful gift from Our Lord that when I wanted to extend thanksgiving to all of you I knew of no better way to express my gratitude.  May Our Lord's love be poured down on all of you through the powerful sacrifice of the Holy Mass.

Celebrating Music and Dance on the Feast of St. Cecilia!

On this beautiful Feast of St. Cecilia, patron of musicians, may I share with you a celebration held this past Sunday with the Children's Rosary at Holy Family Entarara Catholic Church. The children gathered to celebrate the formation of the Children's Rosary at their Church. They have been meeting weekly since the early summer but this past Sunday was a special celebration of the launch of this new group. Br. Cleophus attended and prayed with the children. There was singing and dancing.

The children meet each Sunday. We humbly invite you to join the children in prayer. The children pray for all those unifying prayers with them. Visit our new Children's Rosary website www.childrensrosary.org  to see a schedule of meetings. When a group is meeting a blue light will blink on the View from Heaven map. If you choose to unify prayers with the children you can simply click the "Join in Prayer" button and you can become a gold light on the map. If you come to the site and the map is dark may we humbly invite you to begin praying with the desire to unify prayers with members of the Children's Rosary and click the "Join in Prayer" button. In this way you become a light in the night sky and the next person seeing your light may choose to unify prayers with you.

Important Announcement!

Dear Friends,
As the Year of Mercy is ending there is exiting news to share. Through God's infinite Mercy He has seen to give us the grace to complete our new Children's Rosary Website (www.childrensrosary.org) which will supplement our current Children's Rosary blog. This site represents the fruits of the prayers of a great many members of the Children's Rosary which include children in groups around the world. There has been sacrifice, fasting and love of Our Lord that kept the project moving forward. But only through the grace of God could it be completed. The site brings to life A View from Heaven
View from Heaven is the world as it might be seen from heaven with the prayers from the Children’s Rosary groups visible as blue twinkling lights and those joining them in prayer gold lights.
As the children come to Our Lord with an open heart and with their innocence one can imagine their prayers rise with a very pure light: one that travels a great distance to find the heart of their Heavenly Father.  What joy must be found in heaven to see such children praying the Holy Rosary, a prayer so dear to Our Blessed Mother and her Son.  As we know from Scripture, “where two or three are gathered in My Name there am I in their midst” (Matthew 18:20). Through these little prayer groups, indeed Our Lord is called down to be with us and hence the light shines all the more brilliantly…illuminating the darkness.
To see such lights growing in number around our tired world, a beautiful hope wells.  As more groups form, the lights coalesce forming a stronger, brighter light.
The children are praying that more groups will form so they can keep adding to the lights on the map.  The children when praying in their prayer groups show as a blue flashing light on the map, yet the children recognize that each person seeing this has the ability to fill the sky with more and more light.  The children are praying that you will join them in prayer.  By unifying prayers and clicking the JOIN IN PRAYER button on our website each person can add their gold light to the map.  Each Children’s Rosary prayer group is asked to pray for those unifying prayers with them. In this way, by joining prayers with the children, they are praying for you!
If one comes to the map and finds it dark, one has the ability to begin praying and hit the "Join in Prayer" button and see how their light begins to illuminate the dark world. Through your little light another soul may come and seeing the lone light may feel moved to join you in prayer. In this way you too can be a hand reaching out to others inviting them to pray.

May I humbly share the origins of A View from Heaven? This was something that lived in my heart for many years. The children tried to make a cloth version which was only a glimpse of what exists now.  Many road blocks and obstacles came in trying to realize this image. Yet nothing would deter us. We had a childlike confidence that God would provide everything that was needed...and so He did. He provided everything. It took time... yes it took years, but today on the Feast of Christ the King we can present it to the world. We take none of the credit for ourselves as God did everything. Any missteps, yes, these were ours alone. We do not know if it will be used by just a few or more. This is also known to God alone. But for our part we simply share it with all of you as well as any soul who feels moved to unify prayers with members of the Children's Rosary.

As we are just releasing this new site we are inviting groups to register and enter their meetings times. Over the coming weeks we pray that a View from Heaven becomes alive with lights of group meetings and those unifying prayers with the children.  A schedule is also present next to the map listing when upcoming meetings will be held. Please visit the site often and unify prayers with groups and other members of the Children's Rosary praying.

Registered Groups

For those who would like to see all registered Children's Rosary groups on our map please click on the red dot in the legend under the map on our website and the view of registered groups will display. We have just received the first pictures from our new Children's Rosary group at St. Denis Church in Uganda! They held their first meeting on November 7, 2016. This group has chosen to hold their meetings daily at 6PM local time (10 AM ET).

The school where this new Children's Rosary group has formed is named after one of the Martyrs from Uganda. St. Denis Ssebuggwawo Wasswa was born in 1870 and at the young age of 16 was martyred for his faith.

The faith and devotion to Our Lord is very strong in Uganda. We thank God and Our Blessed Mother for connecting us with the wonderful people and children of Uganda. We welcome you to the Children's Rosary!

Praying for those Suffering from Flooding in Vietnam

This week we received pictures from a meeting of the Children's Rosary members in Bien Hoa City, Vietnam. They held a special Children's Rosary to pray for the victims of flash floods in central Vietnam.  The children gathered together in prayer. A first class relic of St. Bernadette was present for the meeting.

Tran, one of our group leaders from Vietnam shared, "floods have washed away a lot of homes and missing a lot of adults and children."

He asked for our prayers. May I humbly ask you to say a Hail Mary now for those suffering this devastation. Thank you very much.
