Thank You

Today there is great joy.  Many have reached out with interest in beginning Children's Rosary groups.  Thank you.  You have not made a mistake.  Indeed it is a beautiful thing to help bring children together in prayer of the Rosary.  A prayer which is so dear to Our Lord and His Mother.

In speaking with individuals who have called and reached out there is a desire to help but also a uncertainty if children will come.  Often I share the story of a group leader from Ohio USA.  She began her Children's Rosary group close to 2 years ago in their Adoration Chapel.  Often another adult women would come and occasionally one child.  She was disappointed more children did not come.  A month later she wrote and there was a beautiful peace in her writing.  No more children had come but she shared that she was feeling drawn to not only saying one Rosary before the Blessed Sacrament she was saying three.  She felt that as long as she was physically able to be there herself she would continue to invite children and pray.

Indeed when we celebrate all we have to give there is a joy that comes.  Many will experience a time when attendance is low or a month when no children may come.  We should not become frightened and think this is a failure instead look at it as an opportunity to thirst for souls as Our Lord did and pray ourselves.

In thinking about what we have and not what we don't have there is also a peace.  One women recently wrote from a small town in a rural area in the United States.  At first she seemed a bit sad as there were only 5 children in her parish that attended Mass regularly.  She mentioned that one of the children was her grandchild and the other children were also part of her family.  I asked if they would consider coming together as a Children's Rosary and she said, yes.  I mentioned that a group of 5 children praying regularly as a Children's Rosary is a powerhouse of prayer.  As we spoke she seemed to get more excited and said she liked imagining these children as a powerhouse of prayer.  Yes when we celebrate what Our Lord is giving us and keep persisting many graces and blessings will follow.  We should never stop reaching out and inviting children. Our Lord in so many ways in the Gospels shows us that numbers do not matter.  In the story of the Lost Coin (Luke 15: 8-10) or the Lost Sheep (Luke 15:1-7) we see that even one soul is so precious to Our Lord.

Over the next week many Children's Rosary prayer groups will meet.  I encourage you to join the children in prayer.  The children always pray for those unifying prayers with them.  It is special for the children to know that there are others unifying prayers with them from around the world.  More and more we begin to feel connected to those in distant places knowing that we are linked in love and prayer.
