Second Children's Rosary Group Forms in Pakistan

Yesterday we shared how the Children's Rosary group at St. Joseph Church in Butanpura Pakistan received a surprise from Our Lady. This group meets both in the morning and evening each day.  The group leader shared that they were making plans to start a second Children's Rosary group.

These plans came to fruition last Sunday when a new Children's Rosary group was Consecrated in another Church also named after St. Joseph. This new group is in the town of Ashrif in Gujranwala, Pakistan. The response from the families of this Church was beautiful.  In the beginning of the ceremony the children welcomed the Priest in the Church with petals.

The Church was full of families bringing their children for the first meeting of the Children's Rosary.  Before the blessing of the Rosary group the Priest celebrated Holy Mass with the children and their families. The Pastor Consecrated the new Children's Rosary group to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Each child received a blessed Rosary.  Approximately 56 children attended the first meeting on July 12th.

This new group has chosen to meet daily.  This past week we have received some extremely touching reports from this new group which I hope to share with you in the coming days.

Our Blessed Mother Surprises the Children

Our Lady before her journey
Beginning in June the Children's Rosary from St. Joseph Church in Butanpura, Pakistan began meeting twice a day: morning and evening.   As the children were off from school for summer holiday until the end of August they decided to begin and end their day in prayer together.  The group leader shared that day by day more children were coming and they were in need of additional rosaries.

Our Lady going to the post office
The following day, in thinking about these beautiful children praying so hard each morning and evening, a little thought came.  What if we sent a statue of Our Lady to the children.  Looking back at all the pictures they had sent there were no pictures with our Our Blessed Mother.  Sharing this with my children they too became excited for we had a statue of Our Blessed Mother that had been donated and was waiting to find a home.  As the children packed the box there was cushioning needed and beautiful handmade rosaries that had been made with love gently fit around Our Lady.  In total 160 Rosaries filled the box, sparkling with colors all around Our Lady.  Our Blessed Mother was carried to the post office via red wagon by the children.  Off she went to meet unsuspecting children on the other side of the world.  Her trip as we would find out was a speedy one and a little over a week later she found her home.  A Church named after St. Joseph would be her destination.

The group receiving the package last Friday immediately took the box to the Church and knelt and prayed for all those who had helped in sharing it (I include all of you who are part of the Children's Rosary as your prayers sustain and keep this operation moving and are the spiritual hands making this possible).

Then the box was opened.  There was surprise and joy from the group to see Our Blessed Mother had come to them.  All this time she was with the children in spirit but now they could look and see their Heavenly Mother.    The words from the group leader,  "We are very grateful to you for kindness and trust." He went on to write that they are now making a plan to begin a second Children's Rosary group!!!

The story continues and I hope to share with you over the next few days all that is happening there.  It is inspiring to see with this intensity of prayer what beautiful fruits are coming.

Tears of Joy

Yesterday I received a call from Sr. MaryAnn Perpetua.  She was calling full of excitement to share more details about her trip to Nigeria.  Her voice is like a warm hug embracing you from the first moments you hear her voice.  This was my first time speaking to her since she had returned from Nigeria.  Sr. MaryAnn is currently studying in Missouri USA and had reached out to the Children's Rosary the day of the Children's Rosary EWTN airing in May hoping to bring information about the Children's Rosary to the Eastern part of Nigeria where she grew up.  The children and I had sent her a box of Children's Rosary books and Rosaries.  Another kind women who had reached out to help the Children's Rosary sent Sr. MaryAnn 250 more Rosaries.  These two packages added to the materials she had already collected reached more than 750 Rosaries in Sr. MaryAnn's suitcase!  A blessed suitcase indeed.  Sr. MaryAnn had sent along pictures from Nigeria of 500 children gathering for their first meeting but to hear Sr. MaryAnn's story of how all this came to pass was so beautiful.  May I humbly share it here.

The children crowned Our Blessed Mother
decorating her with ornate gowns and headdress
Sr. MaryAnn returned to her home parish in Ogbodu-Aba village in the Nsukka Diocese of Nigeria.  The Church is named after St. Anthony of Padua. She told her Pastor about the Children's Rosary prayer group movement and her hope to begin a group in their parish.  Her Pastor embraced the idea.  Word quickly spread to the more remote outposts that a Children's Rosary was forming.  Each child would receive a Rosary.  Excitement grew and families and children began the journey to attend the meeting.  Many children that would normally be working in the fields made the trip to come to the Church.

May 30th arrived and it was a spectacular sight to behold....more children than Sr. MaryAnn had ever seen in the Church were there. The Church was brimming over. The children had come in their best clothes.  They were grouped by the region they had come from...eight regions total.  As the first meeting was in May Sr. MaryAnn thought it would be wonderful if they held a May Crowing before their Children's Rosary. The children from each region had a turn of crowning Our Lady with the special materials they had brought.  The children in anticipation had been gathering materials during the prior week. One group decorated Our Lady with a theme of Divine Mercy, another group decorated her with their local vibrant clothes, another group in a more tranditional attire.  Sr. MaryAnn took a picture of each group's crowning as each group had to remove their decorations for the next group of children to tenderly crown their Heavenly Mother.  Sr. MaryAnn with a heart so full of love told the children she hoped to make a calendar of their different crownings and bring it back to them next year.  A project she is praying very hard to make a reality.  After the crownings, the Pastor blessed the new Children's Rosary group.  He also celebrated Mass in Honor of Our Blessed Mother and for all the members of the Children's Rosary.  Not only did the Pastor Consecrate the group to Jesus through Mary he also Consecrated his parish to the Immaculate Heart of Mary that day.

The Children held their first Children's Rosary meeting praying the Rosary together.  To celebrate the day Sr. MaryAnn had invited some local musicians that sing praise and worship music in the missions. The children danced and sang.  One women had made a cake in honor of Our Blessed Mother.  Sr. MaryAnn could not contain her joy.  She said seeing the children brought her to tears.  The care and love they brought touched her deeply.

At the end of the blessed day the children and families would be returning to their homes, some in distant outposts.  Sr. MaryAnn met with the Pastor and identified eight regions or zones.  Smaller Children's Rosary groups were created for each zone with a unique group leader.  On holidays and special Feasts the 8 groups would travel to meet as one very large group but weekly they would each meet as a smaller Children's Rosary prayer group.

There is very little to say to such a story other than thank you Lord.  Thank you for such beauty and tears of joys.

St. Franics de Sales Church

More blessings today we had the first meeting of the Children's Rosary at St. Francis de Sales Parish in Purcellville, Virginia USA.  This new group leader received a Children's Rosary CD for her daughter's birthday and after listening to it felt called to begin a Children's Rosary in her parish.  We are very excited about this new group as each new group that forms is a special gift from Our Lord and His Mother.  In turn we entrust these groups to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary so in this way each is under the protection of Christ and His Mother.

Over the next week we have many Children's Rosary groups meeting.  We invite you to join the children in prayer.  The children always pray for those unifying prayers with them.

A River of Hope

Mount Hope River
Every Day on Eternal Life Radio in Massachusetts USA the Children's Rosary can be heard beginning at 5PM ET. Each day the voices of little children fill the airwaves with prayers to Our Lord.  The children who are praying are all members of the Children's Rosary.  Several years ago we felt inspired to record the Children's Rosary both for new groups to hear how a group is run and also to allow the children's voices to reach a great many people.  For some who might hear their innocent voices on the radio the Rosary may be new to them. Yet children have a way of finding their way into your heart.  Just as the river named "Mount Hope River" winds its way through my mother's farm so too the children's voices have a way of bringing prayer to a great many people.  A river has a way of finding the nooks and tiny spaces which allow it to continue to move forward.  So too the children's prayers seem to find a way of carrying hope to ones heart.

For those of you who have not heard the Children's Rosary I invite you to tune in.  Some have described praying with the children as fortifying them especially when one feels tired and worn out.  The fact that the airing time is at 5PM is also particularly special as many are on their way home from a long day at work and such prayers can help to restore peace to ones heart and allow us to enter our homes with a tenderness that is difficult to bring if you have just sat through any length of traffic.

We are especially grateful to Eternal Life Radio for working tirelessly for over a year to bring the Children's Rosary to so many each day at 5PM.  You will also hear the Children's Rosary theme song: Rosary Children broadcast as well.

First Children's Rosary at St. John The Evangelist Church in Uncasville, CT

We recently received these beautiful pictures from the first meeting of the Children's Rosary at St. John the Evangelist Church in Uncasville, Connecticut USA.
Their first meeting was held on Sunday June 7th 2015. The Church is part of a collaborative with three other Churches collectively called the Divine Mercy Community.  The new group was Consecrated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary at their first meeting.  In this way the group is under the protection and guidance of Christ and His Mother.
The children took turns going to the podium to lead the decades. The Children's Rosary is a prayer group movement for children composed of children and led by children.  One sees that the children help to run each part of the meeting.
The group so beautifully decorated around our Blessed Mother with flowers.  The children also took turns placing a rose before Our Lady at the end of each decade. The children very much enjoy placing flowers before Our Blessed Mother as it is a physical way they can show Our Lord and His Mother how much they love them.

The group leader shared with us that the children were able to sing our theme song Rosary Children at the end of the meeting. We are very grateful to all those that helped to start this new group and all the prayers of members of the Children's Rosary around the world that help this prayer group movement keep spreading.

The next meeting of the Children's Rosary at St. John the Evangelist Church in Uncasville CT is scheduled for 10:15 AM on July 19th.
