Gifts for Our Lady of the Rosary

Children's Rosary in Lagos, Nigeria

Tomorrow is the Memorial of Our Lady of the Rosary and we are blessed to have a new Children's Rosary group meeting at St. Anthony's Parish in Taylor Mill, Kentucky.  The group will begin by being Consecrated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary.  In this way the group is under the protection and guidance of Christ and His Mother.  We are very excited to be able to give Our Lady a new Children's Rosary group on a day honoring her title as Our Lady of the Rosary.  We also wanted to humbly offer her another gift.  A Mass has been offered for the Intentions of Our Lady of the Rosary.  In addition we have several other Children's Rosary groups meeting.

Please consider joining the children in prayer.  The children always pray for those unifying prayers with them.

St. Faustina Prayer For Us!

Peace Rose Planted for Our Lady
by members of the Children's Rosary
Today, October 5th,  the Church remembers St. Faustina.  Her Diary is a treasure.  Below are a few quotes to reflect on from the Diary:

“You should not worry too much about adversities. The world is not as powerful as it seems to be; its strength is strictly limited.. Know, my daughter, that if your soul is filled with the fire of My pure love, then all difficulties dissipate like fog before the sun's rays and dare not touch the soul. All adversaries are afraid to start a quarrel with such a soul, because they sense that it is stronger than the whole world...”

"Be grateful for the smallest of My graces, because your gratitude compels Me to grant you new graces."

Jesus said, "Yes, I will be with you always, if you always remain a little child and fear nothing. As I was your beginning here, so I will also be your end. Do not rely on creatures, even in the smallest things, because this displeases Me. I want to be alone in your soul. I will give light and strength to your soul, and you will learn from My representative that I am in you, and your uncertainty will vanish like mist before the rays of the sun."

"He who knows how to forgive prepares for himself many graces from God. As often as I look upon the Cross, so often will I forgive with all my heart."

"I desire that priests proclaim this great mercy of Mine towards souls of sinners. Let the sinner not be afraid to approach Me. The flames of mercy are burning Me - clamoring to be spent; I want to pour them out upon these souls"

[Once] when I saw how much my confessor [probably Father Sopocko] was to suffer because of this work which God was going to carry out through him, fear seized me for the moment, and I said to the Lord, "Jesus, this is Your affair, so why are You acting this way toward him? It seems to me that You are making difficulties for him while at the same time ordering him to act."Write that by day and by night My gaze is fixed upon him, and I permit these adversities in order to increase his merit. I do not reward for good results but for the patience and hardship undergone for My sake."

Have You Read the Promises of the Rosary to Your Children?

This past Wednesday was the Feast of St. Therese.  With a large picture of the Little Flower set up in our living room the children and I prayed a Rosary before bed.  Our middle son Konstantin had found a little prayer book given to us at one time and was looking through it.  When we finished the Rosary he walked over to me on his kneels as we had just finished praying.  He asked if I could read something to them.  It was the promises of the Rosary.  I was familiar with these promises and my first inclination was to say no, we can read them another night as it was late.  But then I waited and thought better of it and agreed to read them.  Both Konstantin and his sister remained kneeling and looking down at the ground as the promises were read.  With each one that was spoken there was love bellowing up in ones heart.  A freshness to the promises as if they were new to me as well.  There was a feeling of validation as if all heaven was nodding that indeed such graces have been granted by the Father to those who pray the Rosary.  As the last promise was read nothing was said.  We all were soaking in the grandeur of what was promised to us.  The next night again I found Konstantin reading the page of promises himself and then again today.  We all seemed to be thinking about the list and also that which was not said but rather felt in our hearts.  The promises have an Imprimatur associated with them and I will include them here.  Although I had not thought to read them to the children it was they that showed me that sometimes it is worth appreciating all that has been purchased for us.

The 15 Promises Of Mary to Christians Who Recite the Rosary:
(Given to St. Dominic and Blessed Alain)
Imprimatur: Patrick J Hayes D. D Archbishop of New York
  1. Whoever shall faithfully serve Me by the recitation of the Rosary, shall receive signal graces.
  2. I promise My special protection and the greatest graces to all who shall recite the Rosary.
  3. The Rosary shall be a powerful armor against hell, it will destroy vice, decrease sin, and defeat heresies.
  4. It will cause virtue and good works to flourish; it will obtain for souls the abundant mercy of God; it will withdraw the hearts of men from the love of the world and its vanities, and will lift them to the desire of eternal things. Oh, that souls would sanctify themselves by this means.
  5. The soul which recommends itself to Me by the recitation of the Rosary, shall not perish.
  6. Whoever shall recite the Rosary devoutly, applying himself to the consideration of its sacred mysteries, shall never be conquered by misfortune. God will not chastise him in His justice, he shall not perish by an unprovided death; if he be just he shall remain in the grace of God, and become worthy of eternal life.
  7. Whoever shall have a true devotion for the Rosary shall not die without the Sacraments of the Church.
  8. Those who are faithful in reciting the Rosary shall have during their life and at their death the light of God and the plenitude of His graces; at the moment of death they shall participate in the merits of the saints in paradise.
  9. I shall deliver from purgatory, those who have been devoted to the Rosary.
  10. The faithful children of the Rosary shall merit a high degree of glory in Heaven.
  11. You shall obtain all you ask of Me by the recitation of the Rosary.
  12. All those who propagate the holy Rosary shall be aided by Me in their necessities.
  13. I have obtained from My Divine Son, that all the advocates of the Rosary shall have for intercessors, the entire celestial court during their life and at the hour of death.
  14. All who recite the Rosary are My sons, and brothers of My only son Jesus Christ.
  15. Devotion to My Rosary is a great sign of predestination.

Mass Offered for Renewal of Family Prayer Today

A Mass was offered today for renewal of family prayer.  Monthly the Children's Rosary requests a Mass for this intention on the first Saturday of the Month.  We are very grateful that a member of the Children's Rosary has sponsored this monthly Mass through the Capuchin Missions until June of 2015.  Renewal of family prayer is one of the two special prayer intentions of the Children's Rosary.  The second is praying that our seminarians grow in holiness and lead us all in love.

The month of October is often considered the month of the Rosary in the Catholic Church. We are excited that this year we have more new Children's Rosary groups meeting for the first time this month.   It is exciting to see the list of groups grow as these represent so many prayers of our little ones.  We thank all of you who help to organize these groups and help this movement spread to all corners of the world.   Please know that all the children are praying for members of the Children's Rosary and all who help the Children's Rosary in any way.  We hope this blanket of prayers continues to overlap and bring Peace to our World and within all families.

First Class Relic of St. Therese

On this beautiful Feast of St. Therese we were fortunate to have a first class relic of St. Therese visit our home.  We opened our doors tonight to visitors who wanted to pray before the relic.  In a special way we prayed for all the members of the Children's Rosary and all who help the Children's Rosary in any way.  Intentions submitted to the Children's Rosary were placed before the relic.

Thank you all so much for your continued help and may Our Lord pour down abundant blessings upon you and your family.

A Child's Favorite St. Therese Quotes

Today is the Beautiful Feast of St. Therese of the Child Jesus.  Recently my 14 year old daughter began reading St. Therese's Autobiography: Secret of a Soul.  She began writing down some quotes that she very much enjoyed from the book. They are included below.

"As all heaven entered my soul when I received Jesus, my mother came to me as well."

Therese recalled how her sister Marie would speak of suffering.  Therese recalled how her sister was sure "God would always carry me like a little child."

"Our Lord knew that I was far to weak to face temptation"

"Suffering began to attract me; I found charms in it which captivated me without yet fully understanding it"

"Only the first day of communion in eternity will never end."

"I knew that to become a Saint, one had to suffer much, always aim at perfection and forget oneself."
