Feast of St. Pius V: April 30

St. Pope Pius V was Pope from January 7, 1566 to May 1, 1572. He joined the Dominicans at the age of fourteen years. Saint Pius V was known for his tremendous devotion to and promotion of the Rosary. In 1571, he urged the creation of the Holy League. This was founded on the feast of Saint Dominic.

Pope Pius V was canonized May 22 1712 by Pope Clement XI. We seek the intercession of St. Pope Pius V for the Children's Rosary, asking him to help the Children's Rosary reach more children and to increase our devotion to Our Lady. It seems fitting, since St. Pope Pius V had such a devotion to Our Blessed Mother, that his feast would usher in the month of May which is dedicated to Our Lady.
