The members of the Children's Rosary from Holy Family Entarara Catholic Church in Kenya wanted to share the special celebration they had last Wednesday. The children have been meeting as a Children's Rosary prayer group each week at 3PM local time on Sundays since June 5th 2016. The group has grown from 50 children to 250 children in the group. Once a year a priest visits their Church for Holy Mass. Their day for the visit was last Wednesday: the Feast of the Holy Innocents.
The children and their families came from long distances to attend. Br. Cleophus shares that all the children that are seen in the pictures are part of the Children's Rosary. The children had prepared songs that were sung for the event. One of the children can be seen above singing at the microphone. Another child shared a poem. There was Holy Mass and then Br. Cleophus and the children had something special planned.
They planted several trees, called Thika Palms. This was done in thanksgiving to the priest, children leaders and catechist. The trees he shares will provide needed shade around the Church. The climate in this area is very dry and can be intensely hot. The trees will be a wonderful addition around the Church.
Br. Cleophus has spoken of this Children's Rosary group and how wonderfully active they are. There is a feeling from the Pastor that oversees this Church that the community seems stronger and more vibrant since the children started meeting in prayer each week.
In a special way we thank the children for their prayers and also all those who help the children meet each week in their Children's Rosary prayer group. We also thank Br. Cleophus who travels great distances to visit these groups. He can be seen in the picture above helping to dig a hole for one of the new trees.
