A new Children's Rosary will meet this evening after the 6PM daily Mass at St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross Church in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. We are very excited to have our first Children's Rosary in Indiana and our first group in a Church named after St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross.
St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross
Pope John Paul II beautified Sr. Teresa on May 1st 1987 and canonized her on October 11th 1998. St. Teresa was born of Jewish parents and later converted to Catholicism becoming a Discalced Carmelite Nun. St. Teresa was inspired by the autobiography of St. Teresa of Avila and later became recognized for her own writings. She fled Germany during WWII to Holland where she was later arrested and sent to Auschwitz. She died in a gas chamber on August 9th 1942.
Quotes from St. Theresa Benedicta of the Cross
"The more lofty the degree of loving union to which God destines the soul, so much more profound and persistent must be its purification".
"One cannot desire freedom from the cross when one is especially chosen for the cross"
"God Himself teaches us to go forward with our hand in His by means of the Churches liturgy"
The Children's Rosary® is a prayer group movement that was begun out of love for Our Lady and Her Son. Jesus tells us "Truly, I say to you unless you turn and become like children you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven" (Matthew 18:3). The Children's Rosary is an effort to begin in parishes rosary prayer groups composed of children and led by children. Through prayer of the Rosary Our Lady will guide our young people while at the same time sanctify families and Parishes.
