New Children's Rosary at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish

Wonderful news!  A new Children's Rosary will be forming at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish in Shrub Oak, New York USA. Their first meeting will be Saturday October 4th. With all the intense prayers and fasting this week such news yesterday was a splendid gift.  There is a feeling that with each prayer that goes up Our Lady beautifully presents it to her Son.   Likewise such prayers enable more of her plans to unfold bringing more children to prayer and through this more grace.  So often we see an unwinding of that which is good.  To see a cycle running in the other direction brings a welling up of hope.

While so many are increasing prayers and fasting this week we might also experience an increase in temptation to give up.  A feeling we are doing too much.  Yet St. Padre Pio spoke so beautifully about such testing.

"Don't let temptations frighten you, they are the trials of those souls who God wants to put to the test when he sees them strong enough to sustain the battle, weaving with their own hands the crown of Glory" -St. Padre Pio

Indeed such feeling are part of our journey of faith.  As St. Padre Pio tells us we should not be frightened.  I am reminded of the beautiful Psalm of the Good Shepherd,
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me (Psalm 23:4).

We may feel disappointed how we handle the test but it gives Our Lord such glory to trust in Him and His Mercy and not look away.  We may stumble and this is to be expected.  But together let us not give up.  Our Lady is doing so much.  Let us keep humbly placing more in her hands to present to her Son.

Thank you all so much.

"Oh, how precious time is!"

Today the Church honors St. Padre Pio.  It is also the first day of Autumn and the nights have turned cold here in Connecticut USA.  The last of our grapes are coming in from our garden and the flowers are starting to wane.  The first bright colors of fall are seen in the big maple trees and the children are saying goodbye to summer for another year. Indeed time is truly speeding along.  My husband and I were marvelling at this very fact the other day.  Indeed many had told us this many time but we now see for ourselves our children are growing up so fast.  The more I appreciate the passing of time the more urgency there is to find that extra little gift to send up to heaven.

The Children's Rosary is now in the middle of our week of prayer and fasting.  It is our prayer and hope that during these last remaining 5 days many more people will join along with us. To read more about our week of prayer and fasting click HERE.

St. Padre Pio said it well:

"Oh, how precious time is!  Blessed are those who know how to make good use of it.  Oh, if only all could understand how precious time is, undoubtedly everyone would do his best to spend it in a praiseworthy manner!"

A Sacrifice of Living Love

Dear Friends,

Our prayer and fasting week has begun and there was a little excerpt from the Diary of St. Faustina that accompanied an email from the Marians yesterday.  It seemed to fit so beautifully with our fasting efforts I wanted to share it with you.

"My daughter, I want to instruct you on how you are to rescue souls through sacrifice and prayer. You will save more souls through prayer and suffering than will a missionary through his teachings and sermons alone. I want to see you as a sacrifice of living love, which only then carries weight before Me "(Diary, 1767).

The Lord has such a way of timing things that appear in our lives so as to help nudge us along our path.  This little piece of the diary so beautifully reassures us we are on the right track. No prayer or sacrifice will be overlooked.  All has merit and yields fruit.

Please if you were not able to begin with us this yesterday it is never to late to join with even the smallest sacrifice.  While some are able to fast on unlimited bread and water others may not be able to and this is okay.  There are no absolute rules only an invitation to bring all you can give with love to Our Lord.
The prayers are surely needed.  Today an email arrived from a mother in response to the invitation to begin this week of prayer and fasting "I am so much relying on your prayers during this time of darkness".  Indeed so many are in need of these prayers.  We have many individuals trying to begin Children's Rosary  groups and such prayers would surely help them.  There are efforts to begin groups in Queensland Australia, Union Kentucky, Trumbull Connecticut, North Adams Massachusetts, Oneonta New York, Wildwood Pennsylvania to name a few.  New groups have recently met this month in Meru Kenya, Edmeston New York, Sharon Massachusetts and Bridgeport Connecticut (with the Missionaries of Charity). We have even more scheduled to meet in the coming months in such places as Negaunee Michigan and Kennett Square Pennsylvania.

For those who might think it is too late to join us for the week of prayer and fasting, the Gospel today (Matthew 20:1-16) was a wonderful reminder of how beautiful and fruitful it is for many to join in along the way.  For those who were called even at 5PM to work in the vineyard for only 1 hour of labor, were paid the same as those that began early in the morning.  We were also reminded today in the first reading(Isaiah 55:8) our ways are not God's ways, so please do not hesitate to join us with this prayer and fasting effort.

Thank you all!

Praying for Peace in Our Hearts, Our Families, and Our World

Photo taken at a Children's Rosary with the Missionaries of Charity
Once I heard a priest say during a homily that if one person in your family loses their peace then the peace of the family is shaken.  Indeed it would seem that from so many directions our inner peace and that of our families is under attack.  Let us not speak at all of the turmoil all around us in our world.  Yet Our Mother comes to us with hands outstretched to help us.  She is calling us to prayer and in particular the Rosary.  Recently our own Children's Rosary group was gathered.  We had only two of my children and one beautiful family originally from France.  The little girl Charlotte who had just turned 5 knelt down with the other children to begin the Children's Rosary.  With only 4 children we asked Charlotte's mother if she was able to lead too.  Her mom nodded that indeed she could.  First Charlotte's ten year old brother led. A boy who only 1 year earlier was so shy about getting up now seemed at home with his rosaries and assuming role as leader.

As Paul led us in the Rosary I looked at little Charlotte with a little white coat and patent leather white shoes a bit scratched which suggested that although she was very shy she was no stranger to some wonderful outdoor play.  As little Charlotte knelt all the way up with her head bowed and fingers carefully counting the beads I noticed something.  Her little leg began to shake a bit yet she did not kneel down.  She was doing all she could to kneel up.  What a beautiful little heart to give so much to her Heavenly Mother and her beloved Son.  Such little prayers from such a little soul but undoubtedly an immense affect on the flow of grace to her own family, the Children's Rosary and the world.  For we do not want to hold onto any of these graces rather we would like to be like a sieve, that as graces flow down, they spill out to all around us.  Such prayers can help to bring Peace.  For Our Lady of Fatima told the children, pray the Rosary to bring Peace.  Oh how dearly we need peace today.

Another touching story I heard yesterday from another Children's Rosary group leader.  She was at her Children's Rosary with her grandson this past weekend.  He is just 4 years old.  Yet he asked his grandmother if he could be one of the leaders this month.  After the Children's Rosary they stayed to pray before the Blessed Sacrament *.  It was then that she heard a noise from her grandson and thought he had sneezed so she blessed him.  He then said Grammy I didn't sneeze I was blowing kisses to Jesus.

What must our loving Lord think when a little one just four has come before Him in the Blessed Sacrament prayed the Rosary with his Heavenly Mother and now with a full heart of love blows Him kisses.  Oh it is very good for all of us to be sure.  So much love and mercy must be released from such a pure act of love.

*This group has chosen to hold their Children's Rosary in front of the Blessed Sacrament.

Over the next few days we have many Children's Rosary groups meeting.  Please consider joining the children in prayer.  The children always pray for those unifying prayers with them.

Hear What Individuals are Saying about the Children's Rosary CDs

The following is feedback we have been receiving about the new Children's Rosary CDs which we recently released.  While we have always been hesitant to write self-promoting things there is a feeling we should also not hide the true gift Our Lady gave us.  In a way anything good that is said is not a reflection on those involved with making the CD, as such a CD could not have been made by the inexperienced crowd that indeed was part of it. What we can assure you is that a tremendous number of prayers went up that all would be as Our Lady envisioned and to say the final CDs are perfect is to say indeed the children's prayers were answered. The CDs are a gift we pray that many will enjoy and share with those dear to them.

"Listening to the Rosary CDs blessed me in many ways and fortified me spiritually.  Can there be a more encouraging and beautiful sound than children in prayer."

"The Children's Rosary with its tender beautiful prayers really has fostered a love of the Rosary in my young children."
Sandy Gasse
Children's Rosary Group Leader

When Sandy's daughter, Marianne age 5, was asked what she thought of the Children's Rosary CDs which she has been praying along with at home and in the car she shared:
"It is God that we are talking to and the prayers go right up to Him"

"It was Angelic.  When the members of my Children's Rosary group heard the voices of the children singing, it was music to our souls.  We loved it!
Vicky Bunty
Children's Rosary Group Leader

"The Cds are precious. I am sharing this information with others. Every family in America should have these".
Mary Lou Coons
Children's Rosary Group Leader

"My kids have been listening to the CDs as they fall asleep at night."
Sara Davis

My 16 year old son has struggled for years saying the Rosary due to Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD).  He now is able to pray the Rosary daily using the Children's Rosary CDs.
