On May 16, 2025, eight shipping barrels filled to the brim with handmade rosaries left for a long journey to Kampala, Uganda. These will help new and existing Children's Rosary groups. The rosaries were made with love by hand. Some 265 rosary making groups send rosaries to us to help the Children's Rosary.
We in turn respond to requests around the world from individuals and even dioceses wanting to launch Children's Rosary groups. In addition to rosaries, 400 Children's Rosary books were sent, 80 Child Consecration books, 1600 miraculous medals, 200 Children's Rosary balloons, 160 color Children's Rosary informational booklets, and 40 A Soul Prepared through Suffering books.
Over the past six months, we have been asking for sponsors for these barrels. Each barrel was labeled with the name or names of individuals who had been the financial wings of each barrel. Some barrels were sponsored by one individual; others had multiple sponsors. One barrel was sent by a wife in memory of her deceased husband. In every way these barrels represent the love of many. We are grateful to Mary Ann Swain, Director of Parish and School outreach for the Children's Rosary, who personally packed each barrel.
The work we do is never complete. With the eight shipping barrels safely deployed, we are now working to fill a shipping barrel for Tanzania and Kenya. This will in part help the Children's Rosary at St. John Vianney orphanage in Rombo, Tanzania. We are still in need of a sponsor or sponsors for this barrel. The total cost is $1,000.
