First Children's Rosary in the Syro Malabar Church

We are excited to share that we have a new Children's Rosary group in the Syro Malabar Church.  The Syro Malabar Church is the second largest Church among the Eastern Catholic Churches.

The first meeting of the Children's Rosary was held on January 31st 2016 in the St. Thomas Syro Malabar Mission of Hartford, Connecticut USA.  This community holds their Masses and now Children's Rosary prayer group meetings, at St. Helena Church in West Hartford, CT.  Fifty children attended this first meeting.  They all knelt before the altar and took turns in pairs leading the decades.  Children also took turns placing roses before the foot of Our Blessed Mother at the end of each decade.  Approximately 100 adults also prayed along from the pews.  It was a beautifully reverent and moving Rosary.  We also had a few children present from another Children's Rosary group in a neighboring Parish.  They very much enjoyed praying and meeting the children that are part of this new group.

Fr. Joseph Pullikattil, Pastor of the St. Thomas Syro Malabar Mission, shared a bit about his parishioners.  He shared that they have a deep love of the Rosary and many families pray the Rosary each night.  He himself shared that as a child living in India he used to pray the Rosary each night with his family at 7:30 PM.  Fr. Joseph Pullikattil has welcomed the Children's Rosary to his parish and began the first meeting by Consecrating the new Children's Rosary group to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary.  In this way, the group is under the protection and guidance of Christ and His Mother.  This new group will hold their second meeting this Sunday, February 14th at 4:00 PM EST.  All are invited to join us either in person or unifying with the children in prayer.
