It is a tender thing to see our children praying and spending time with their heavenly mother in prayer. During each Children's Rosary the children are invited to place a rose at the foot of Our Lady at the end of each decade. Indeed such a gift is a small way for our children to come before their mother and show her how much they love her. On this beautiful Memorial of the Most Holy Name of Mary we are so blessed to have several Children's Rosary groups meeting today.
The picture above was taken when members of the Children's Rosary traveled by bus approximately 8 hours to hold a Children's Rosary at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Washington DC. The Children's Rosary was held Sept 21st 2013 during the International Eucharistic Prayer Vigil. This annual vigil and week of prayer and fasting occurs each September. This year the week of prayer begins September 20th. This annual event began over 20 years ago through the help of Pope John Paul II. He has granted an Apostolic blessing to all who participate. It is our hope to join this effort with prayer and fasting for 1 week beginning September 20th.

The Children's Rosary® is a prayer group movement that was begun out of love for Our Lady and Her Son. Jesus tells us "Truly, I say to you unless you turn and become like children you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven" (Matthew 18:3). The Children's Rosary is an effort to begin in parishes rosary prayer groups composed of children and led by children. Through prayer of the Rosary Our Lady will guide our young people while at the same time sanctify families and Parishes.
