Thank You All

Today several packages were sent out overseas.  One package with a destination of Timor Leste where a new Children's Rosary group is forming at St. Joseph parish.  We already have one established Children's Rosary group in Timor Leste at the Parish of Our Lady of Fatima.

Another package was sent to Kenya to help another one of our groups.  As my daughter was just sending off the Rosaries we found two more packages waiting for us.  We waited to open several that had come in until our youngest child had woken up from his nap.  All three children took such enjoyment carefully opening the packages.  One package contained Rosaries from a Confirmation class in Bronx, New York.  All the Rosaries were handmade by the children as part of a Rosary Makers group.  This was the second package the children had sent us.

Another box contained 100 Rosaries from a mom in West Virginia..all were handmade.  The final box was sent from a women in Illinois with 50 beautiful handmade rosaries that looked like jewels.  So much beautiful work put in to making all these Rosaries.  These are not the only Rosaries we have received, just  a few days ago another package arrived with several Rosaries that were very old and beautifully made.  The beads were worn very smooth which was a wonderful thing to see.  One could imagine the many times the beads passed through the hands of someone very special over the years.

We thank you all for continuing to support the Children's Rosary in so many different ways.  Your prayers in particular are so important.  Please know that you are all being prayed for by the children.  We also have a Mass said on the 25th of every month for all the members of the Children's Rosary and all who help the Children's Rosary in anyway.

If you would like to donate Rosaries please send them to:
PO Box 271743
West Hartford CT 06127-1743
(Financial donations are also welcome)

If you are a new or established Children's Rosary group and financially it is difficult to obtain Rosaries for your group please let us know and we can help.

Thank you all and God Bless!

St Francis Xavier Cabrini

"We must pray without tiring, for salvation of mankind does not depend on material success nor on sciences that cloud the intellect. Neither does it depend on arms and human industries, but on Jesus alone". St. Francis Xavier Cabrini

St. Cabrini was the 13th child in her family.  She was originally from Italy but later moved to the United States.  She is the foundress of the order: Missionaries of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. She established many schools, orphanages and hospitals.  She worked particularly with the Italian immigrants to the United States.  She was fond of saying, "We will have eternity to rest. Do what you can with an upright heart, and the Lord will do the rest."

On this beautiful day in which we honor St. Cabrini, November 13th, may we turn our hearts to prayer.
Please consider joining our Children's Rosary which will meet this evening at St. Paul Church in Fenton, Missouri at 7PM Central Time.  The children always pray for those who unify prayers with them.

Words From the Children Wednesday

Recently we introduced a new weekly highlight on the Children's Rosary Blog: Words from the Children Wednesdays. As the Children's Rosary is a prayer movement composed of children and led by children we would like to begin highlighting some of the beautiful feedback we have been getting from the children from our different Children's Rosary groups.

This week I received this picture from one of our Children's Rosary group leaders from Syracuse, New York. It is such a special note written by Lauren age 7.  How beautiful that a priest's trip to Fatima would result in him sharing a rosary with a grandmother and the rosary finding its way to little hands who now use the Rosary in prayer.  Our Lady has been calling our children to prayer and to see the children responding so beautifully to this call brings a welling of hope to the soul.

I encourage children to continue to send us their drawings or notes.  Hearing from our children is so inspiring.

Thank you so much!

Important Posting!

INVITATION TO ST LOUIS DE MONTFORT CONSECRATION
TO JESUS THROUGH MARY

Dear Friends,

May we the Children's Rosary humbly invite you to participate in a 33 Day Total Consecration to Jesus through Mary.  Our Children’s Rosary groups are Consecrated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary at their first meeting but this would be a way to beautifully place our individual families under the protection of Our Blessed Mother who always leads us on the straightest path to her son.

For those of you unfamiliar with Consecration to Jesus through Mary it has been blessed and supported by Cardinal Justin Rigali, Bishops and Pope Benedict XVI. Blessed John Paul II urged Catholics to make this Act of Entrustment, which involves ten minutes of private prayer daily, for 33 days, in your home.  Many may be familiar with Totus Tuus which was John Paul’s papal motto. It is a Latin phrase meaning "totally yours" and expressed his personal Consecration to Jesus through Mary.
We would like to use the 33 days to Morning Glory written by Fr. Gaitley to guide our Consecration.    The book has daily reflections with a short prayer.  The first week contains reflections from writings of St. Louis de Montfort.  The second week has excerpts from St. Maximilian Kolbe; the third Bl. Mother Teresa and the fourth Bl. John Paul II.  It spends more time in reflection and less on vocal prayers of litanies.  From all that I have seen it has been well received by many folks and is especially appropriate for children which seemed perfectly suited for our needs.  While I am recommending we use the 33 Days to Morning Glory, if you would prefer using a different format this would be fine.  I myself used the traditional St. Louis de Montfort Consecration prayers but look forward to this more contemplative approach.

The 33 Day Consecration prayers traditionally precede a Marian Feast and the Feast that we will be saying our Consecration on is January 1st - the Feast of Mary Mother of God.  Therefore we will begin our prayers on November 29thThis date is relatively close so this requires immediate action to participate.

Outline of the Plan:
Number 1: request a Consecration book 33 Days to Morning Glory by Fr. Gaitley
(books are available free through the website myconsecration.org) IMPORTANT: As we do not have much time until the start date of the 33 days of prayer beginning Nov 29th, the individual in charge of the site Ray Moody has offered to personally handle book requests from members of the Children’s Rosary and those wanting to join us in the Consecration. Please email him directly at proliferay@gmail.com Please include your mailing address in your note and how many books you need.  Up to 10 books are free with free shipping.  PLEASE PUT CHILDREN’S ROSARY IN THE SUBJECT HEADING OF YOUR EMAIL TO HIM.  If you would like to make a free-will donation this could be made out to Children of the Father Foundation and mailed to Ray Mooney at 29-34 155th Street, Flushing, NY 11354.

Number 2: Once receiving the book have a general read through the introduction.

Number 3: On Nov 29th begin the first day of prayers and reflections which takes about 10 minutes. Each day is clearly marked in the book.

Number 4: January 1st: Consecration Prayers.

Any questions about the Consecration please contact me. If you have already made a Total Consecration preceding another Marian Feast you could still participate in this Consecration.  Please let me know if you are planning to join in (my email address is blythe.kaufman@gmail.com) Thank you so much!

Please feel free to share this amongst your friends as we would like to have a large unified body making the Consecration.

For those of you outside of the US or Canada who are interested in participating please contact me directly at blythe.kaufman@gmail.com.

Thank you all!

Nine Children's Rosary Groups to Meet over the Next Two Days

First Meeting of the Children's Rosary at St. Mary's Church in Corvallis, Oregon USA
Please consider joining the children in prayer this weekend.  We have many groups meeting so consider joining them in the Church if you live locally or join them from your home.  The children always pray for those unifying prayers with them.

As one begins to contemplate the overlaying of all these prayers of our children one begins to have a renewed hope and joy.  So many prayers like bouquets of flowers rising to the Throne of God.  If we as adults, unify our prayers to those of the children, then our prayers are ushered up by these innocent ones.  A beautiful thought to contemplate.
