Prayers for the Children's Rosary from Siena, Italy

Recently I was made aware of a group of about 20 young people from Siena, Italy who belong to the parish of La Cappella di San Vigilio.  This group of young people had heard about the Children's Rosary from one of our members, Caitlin from WA USA.  They were excited about the Children's Rosary and wanted to start a group in their Church.  They meet weekly to pray the rosary and decided to begin by meeting once per month to pray for the Children's Rosary.  This group is composed primarily of young people in their twenties but they are praying that the Lord will help guide some children to their group to help lead them in prayer.  This is a wonderful blessing for all the members of the Children's Rosary to have such prayers said for all the members and the group as a whole.  May I humbly ask that we as members of the Children's Rosary pray that Our Lady and her Son will help grow this group by bringing some children to pray with them.

Memorial of the Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary

On this Grace filled day, consider giving your heart to Our Lady and pleading to God for peace through her Immaculate Heart!!

Our Lady of Fatima revealed to Bl. Jacinta before her death:
“Tell everybody that God gives graces through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Tell them to ask graces from her, and that the Heart of Jesus wishes to be venerated together with the Immaculate Heart of Mary.  Ask them to plead for peace from the Immaculate Heart of Mary, for the Lord has confided the peace of the world to her.”

Rosary
Today we have the wonderful blessing of having a new Children's Rosary meeting for the first time at Our Lady of Fatima Parish in Hartford, CT.  It would seem to be another example of Divine Providence that a new group would form in a Parish named after Our Lady of Fatima and choose this special day to consecrate their group to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Please consider joining the children in prayer at 4PM ET for the Rosary either at the Church or from your home.  The children always pray for all those unifying their prayers with them.  If you would like to also consecrate yourself to the Immaculate Heart of Mary and Sacred Heart of Jesus, prayers of consecration can be found here.

Masses
A Mass was also requested to be said yesterday and today for the intention: may the Children's Rosary be a reflection of Our Lady and her Son in this world.  An additional Mass was requested to be said today for the intentions of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

May the Immaculate Heart of Mary bless you all and protect you. Amen.

On World Day of Prayer for Priests Pope Francis Answers Questions about His Own Vocation

The Holy Father Pope Francis met with Italian and Albanian children and teenagers today.  The children and teachers were invited to ask the Holy Father questions.  One child asked why the Holy Father chose to be a Jesuit and whether it was difficult to leave his family and friends behind.

Pope Francis responded that he wanted to be a Jesuit because he wanted to be a missionary and was attracted by the religious orders missionary zeal and activity.
The Pope went on to say, “Listen, it’s always difficult. Always. For me it has been difficult, it is not easy. But there are also beautiful times. Jesus helps you and gives you joy. But there are difficult moments, where you feel alone you feel dry, without inner joy. There are bad moments, of inner darkness. They do exist, but it’s so beautiful to follow Jesus and His path. It’s a balance that allows you to go forward and that’s when the beautiful moments come."

On this Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, I invite all reading this to say a quiet prayer in their hearts for all our priests and seminarians that they may grow in holiness and sanctity protected always by the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Thank you all!

New Children's Rosary in Nairobi Kenya

FIRST INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN'S ROSARY

Almost every day this week during Mass the priest has repeated the phrase
"Oh God, whose providence never fails in its designs".  So often as things with the Children's Rosary unfold these words come to mind.  One such moment was when I was recently contacted by an individual from Kenya inquiring about a pdf file on how to pray the rosary.  In corresponding with her I became aware that by Divine Providence she had stumbled on the Children's Rosary website looking for materials to teach a group of about 25 children how to pray the rosary.  A short time before the Feast of the Holy Trinity I would find out her parish was also named after the Holy Trinity.

After a successful meeting to teach the children how to pray the rosary she was left feeling like she wanted to do more.  Her reading about the Children's Rosary seemed to be that direction for which she was searching.

The date of the first international meeting of the Children's Rosary is so beautifully scheduled on the Memorial of the Immaculate Heart of Mary: June 8th. As the Children's Rosary is consecrated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary it is a wonderful blessing to have our first international meeting held on a day honoring the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

We pray that with this blessing of our new Children's Rosary in Kenya this will begin the spread of the Children's Rosary to many countries beyond the borders of the United States.

Pope Francis to Lead a Worldwide Holy Hour on Corpus Christi

In a historic event, Pope Francis is inviting Catholics from around the world to join him for an hour of Eucharistic adoration this Sunday June 2nd at 11 AM ET.  On this day honoring the Most Precious Body and Blood of Jesus may all consider joining Our Holy Father in a beautiful unity of prayer and adoration.  Archbishop Rino Fisichella, president of the Pontifical Council for Promoting the New Evangelization explained that the theme of the event is "One Lord, One Faith"

The Holy Father has provided two intentions for the Holy Hour:
The first papal intention is: “For the Church spread throughout the world and united today in the adoration of the Most Holy Eucharist as a sign of unity. May the Lord make her ever more obedient to hearing his word in order to stand before the world ‘ever more beautiful, without stain or blemish, but holy and blameless.’ That through her faithful announcement, the Word that saves may still resonate as the bearer of mercy and may increase love to give full meaning to pain and suffering, giving back joy and serenity.”

Pope Francis’ second intention is: “For those around the world who still suffer slavery and who are victims of war, human trafficking, drug running and slave labor. For the children and women who are suffering from every type of violence. May their silent scream for help be heard by a vigilant Church, so that, gazing upon the crucified Christ, she may not forget the many brothers and sisters who are left at the mercy of violence. Also, for all those who find themselves in economically precarious situations, above all for the unemployed, the elderly, migrants, the homeless, prisoners and those who experience marginalization. That the Church’s prayer and its active nearness give them comfort and assistance in hope and strength and courage in defending human dignity.”

Thank you all and may a great many of us be able to join Our Dear Holy Father tomorrow. Amen.
