On our second day in Africa we were able to meet with Cardinal Njue of the Archdiocese of Nairobi to discuss the Children's Rosary. Despite the fact that offices were closed that day, he made a special trip to the Basilica of the Holy Family to meet with us. We are so grateful to him for his hospitality. He also introduced us to Fr. Moses Kago and Sr. Rose Mwangi. We presented him with a Children's Rosary banner for the Archdiocese of Nairobi. At the conclusion of our meeting he gave us a blessing for which we are most thankful. This was a wonderful beginning to our visit to Kenya.
The Children's Rosary® is a prayer group movement that was begun out of love for Our Lady and Her Son. Jesus tells us "Truly, I say to you unless you turn and become like children you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven" (Matthew 18:3). The Children's Rosary is an effort to begin in parishes rosary prayer groups composed of children and led by children. Through prayer of the Rosary Our Lady will guide our young people while at the same time sanctify families and Parishes.
