Meet the New Children's Rosary from St. Dominic College Elementary Department

This week we received a lovely email from Rev. Ronaldo Manabat, the Rector of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Batanes, Philippines. He had a lovely picture to share from one of the new Children's Rosary groups.

He wrote, "This is the Children’s Rosary at St. Dominic College Elementary Department. The first meeting was March 14, 2022 and they are meeting every Monday morning after their flag ceremony. The flag ceremony is at 7:30am and the meeting is at 8:00am. They are using the Cathedral Church for the meeting as the school is just near the Cathedral."

We warmly welcome this new Children's Rosary group! We thank Rev. Ronaldo Manabat who has helped in establishing twenty-five Children's Rosary groups.

Mass Offered for Members of the Children's Rosary on January 25, 2022

A Mass was offered on January 25th for all the members of the Children's Rosary and all who help the Children's Rosary.  We continue to have a Mass celebrated for this intention on the 25th of the month. The Eucharist is such a powerful gift from Our Lord that when we wanted to extend thanksgiving to all of you we knew of no better way to express our gratitude.  May Our Lord's love be poured down on all of you through the powerful sacrifice of the Holy Mass.

The picture above is the Children's Rosary at San Vicente Ferrer Chapel, Kilapagan, Canayan, Malaybalay City Bukidnon. This new group began on December 12, 2021. We wish to welcome this new Children's Rosary group!

Eight New Children's Rosary Groups Begin in the Prelature of Batanes, Philippines

We are excited to welcome 8 new Children's Rosary groups from the Philippines! Fr. Ronaldo Manabat, Pastor and Rector of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception of the Prelature of Batanes, has begun eight new Children's Rosary groups.

He explained that the island where the Cathedral is located is a remote island.

The Cathedral Parish has 7 communities (villages)  under its jurisdiction. The children gather once a week in the Chapel of their village for the Children's Rosary. Once a month the children from all the villages come together at the Cathedral to hold a Children's Rosary together. Fr. Manabat sent these pictures from a recent meeting when all 8 Children's Rosary groups were praying together. It is wonderful to also see Fr. Manabat, as Shepherd to the Cathedral, kneeling in prayer with the children.

We warmly welcome the children from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception to the Children's Rosary.

Patiently Waiting in the Philippines 2018

We continue to share pictures from different parts of the world of different people joining the Children's Rosary "Patiently Waiting" Campaign. This is a gentle way to show those around us where are hearts can be found as we prepare for the coming of Christ. Soon these Patiently Waiting signs will come down and they will be replaced by ones that read: Christ is Born.

Celebrating the Feast of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary 2018

Today is a beautiful Feast, one that is very special to the Children's Rosary. We wish to celebrate and share pictures of the children. We often share pictures of boxes of Rosaries being sent out. Prayers are said and we pray that these efforts are fruitful. Today we share pictures of the result of these boxes. We see the reaction of children receiving a rosary of their own.

Many have prayed, sacrificed and fasted. We thank you. I hope you take joy in seeing the children. The picture above is of one of our new Children's Rosary groups. It is at St. Benedict Parish llungu which is in Southern Tanzania. We had sent a large box of 500 rosaries and Children's Rosary materials including Children's Rosary books this past summer.
Br. Peter a seminarian from the Mbeya Diocese, carried these materials to the parish which is located approximately 43 miles east of Mbeye. The region is rural and most of the economic activities are centered around potato farming. The weather is not very hot in this mountainous area which is why potatoes grow well.

This new group has been meeting weekly on Sundays after the 8:30 AM Mass. Now during the month of October they are meeting on both Tuesday and Fridays at 4PM local time. Some of the children attending are from the Safwa Tribe.
We also want to share pictures from one of our Children's Rosary groups celebrating their one year Anniversary today. This is our Children's Rosary in Malay Aklan, Philippines. The children had written out the words to our theme song "Rosary Children" and posted them on the wall for the children to learn and then sing.
They held a celebration today of their Anniversary, October 7th, with prayers and food.

We thank the Children's Rosary in Malay and all the groups that continue faithfully in their meetings. This is a great gift to give to Our Lady both the new groups and the groups that continue faithfully. We imagine Our Lady smiling to see the children with Rosary in hand praying.

May God bless you all on this Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary!

Mass held in the Philippines to Celebrate the 7 Year Anniversary of the Children's Rosary

The Children's Rosary from San Isidro Parish Cathedral held a special Anniversary Mass on April 10th. We received this note from the group leader on April 11th:
We celebrated Children's Rosary Founding Anniversary yesterday. We offered a Mass presided by Fr. Juverson Mabasa at Sto. Niño Chapel, Barangay 9, Malaybalay City. Here are the pictures:

The group leader shared that she was able to make arroz caldo for a snack after the Mass for the children. More more I am seeing through the years and the reports of different groups, that having little snacks of food when possible for the children after meetings or on special celebrations is a welcome addition.

We are so grateful for the special effort the children and adults made to remember the beginning of the Children's Rosary. In keeping with the example of Our Lady who always points to her Son, it is beautiful to see the children remembering the day by attending a Mass. The Mass was held on the exact Anniversary date of Tuesday April 10th.

We also received word that there are efforts to begin an additional Children's Rosary group in Malaybalay. Please keep these efforts and the group leader who has had poor health, requiring hospitalization, in your prayers. Thank you.

Little Acts of Kindness: Feeding those Suffering from Storm Devastation in the Philippines

Recently the Philippines suffered significant devastation due to a powerful storm before Christmas.
Flooding and destruction of homes took place. Members of the Children's Rosary in Aklan, Philippines went into areas hard hit and brought food.

It is beautiful to see children helping children. We thank the children who are part of the Children's Rosary at St. Joseph the Worker Parish for their witness of faith and charity in the days leading up to Christmas.

New Children's Rosary Meets on October 7th in Malay, Aklan Philippines

We are very excited to share a picture from the first meeting of the Children's Rosary at St. Joseph the Worker Parish in Malay, Aklan Philippines. In the spring a 14 year old boy contacted us with hopes of starting a Children's Rosary. We will call him Courageous. He asked for our help in sending materials to begin a group.  A package was sent. On October 7th the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary his hopes were realized. A new group began at his parish. He relates that the children met at 6AM local time. The priest Consecrated the new Children's Rosary to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary. The children then led the Rosary. Five children were chosen to lead each mystery. After the Children's Rosary they had Mass. Courageous shared, "everyone present are feel that the Lord touch their hearts".

As we shared in an earlier posting Courageous hopes to spread the Children's Rosary to parishes throughout his city.  To this end he has asked for many materials including 10,000 Rosaries and many Children's Rosary books. We wish to thank those that have already offered their help. Our Children's Rosary group in Malaybalay, Phlippines had a banner made for the new group which can be seen in the photo above.  A member of the Children's Rosary in Arkansas USA provided a donation that helped us send a second larger box with more materials and rosaries. The Children's Rosary in Imus, Philippines recently sent another box of Rosaries and materials.  We also sent a box with over 300 Children's Rosary books from the USA.  And the Children's Rosary in Naples, Florida USA is making Rosaries for the group. They report 60 have been made but they hope to send 400!!

So we embrace this new group with love and thank all the children for their prayers and gifts of flowers to Our Lady on the Feast of the Holy Rosary.

If you would like to help in reaching the goal of sending 10,000 Rosaries and many prayer books please contact us. Donations can also be made on our website to help cover shipping costs. Thank you!!

Children Reaching Out to Other Children

As tomorrow is July 13th it seemed timely to share these pictures from our Children's Rosary group at Malaybalay Parish Cathedral in the Philippines.  The pictures were taken on May 13 2017.

The groups leader shares:
"The children brought the Fatima icon to the Monobo tribe children evacuees and taught them how to pray the Rosary". Several other organizations contributed food to feed some 300 children and their parents.

After the feeding had taken place the Children's Rosary group leader shared, "the Manobo children put Mama Mary on the sidewalk, lighted candles and pray the Rosary. The Rosary prayer was led by the 3 Manobo older children"

It is special to see the children from the Children's Rosary at the Malaybalay Parish Cathedral reaching out to the Manobo children. Recently Pope Francis in a document entitled the Missionary Pastoral Care with Children invites children to have an active role in evangelization. He writes, "This missionary service is carried out through the protagonist role of the children themselves. Jesus himself is the one who has given them a very important mission in the Church and the World."

Please keep these children in your prayers.  They hope to be able to form a Children's Rosary at San Fernando Parish as soon as peace is attained in their area and they are able to return home.

The Children Honor Our Lord's Passion

The Children's Rosary at the House for Street Children of Imus in the Philippines shared these pictures from the Lenten Season. Nanette explained that the children during the meeting first prayed the Rosary and then made the Way of the Cross. The picture above is of the children genuflecting at the 14th Station of the Cross.  It is beautiful to see how the children have spent time with Our Lord contemplating his Passion. We thank all those from Imus who helped organize such a beautiful time of prayer for the children.

Anniversary Mass for the Children's Rosary in Malaybalay City, Philippines

Today we received these beautiful pictures from the Mass offered on the Anniversary of the founding of the Children's Rosary (April 10th). The Mass was celebrated by Fr. Bonifacio Cabaya at San Ignacio de Loyola sub parish at Kalasungay, Malaybalay City Philippines.

Forty children who are part of the Children's Rosary in Malaybalay City were able to attend.
The Mass was offered for the Fulfillment of Our Lady's Plans for the Children's Rosary.

The children were very much a part of the Mass. Two of the younger children carried candles while several other children followed bringing up gifts for the offertory.

The children all gathered together following the Mass for a celebratory lunch!

Today is the last day that we have Masses offered for the Fulfillment of Our Lady's plans for the Children's Rosary. In total we had 41 Masses offered for this intention in honor of the Anniversary of the beginning of the Children's Rosary on April 10th.  On Easter Sunday we will begin a nine day novena of Masses in Thanksgiving.

First Children's Rosary in the Philippines!

Today May 16th at 3PM local time in the Philippines the first official Children's Rosary group was held.  This new group met at Our Lady of Fatima Parish, Fatima Village Tacloban City, Philippines.  The new group began by being Consecrated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary.  In this way the group is under the protection and guidance of Christ and His Mother.
Members of the Children's Rosary placing flowers
at the foot of a statue of Our Blessed Mother
Sixty-five children were present for the first meeting.  The children knelt for the Rosary taking turns leading.  Several children were able to place flowers before Our Lady in between decades.  Indeed it was a beautiful moment.  It is particularly special that this new group formed in a parish named after Our Lady of Fatima as this week we celebrated the Feast of Our Lady of Fatima on May 13th.  Indeed this new group is a very special blessing.
A special thank you to a great many people who helped in the formation of this new group.  As this is our first Children's Rosary group in the Philippines it came through the work of many hands.  A special thank you to Charina Van who helped to bring these children together.  These children are all survivors of the horrible typhoon that killed a great many people in their community.  In addition Lolita and others locally in the Philippines are helping to arrange these regular meetings.
Thank you to Joan Alix and Ken Corcoran for sending materials for the children.  In a special way we thank Xenia Maye who traveled to the Philippines from the United States representing the Children's Rosary and bringing materials to communities throughout the Philippines and Asia.  Several weeks ago she was able to communicate with this local group and also arrange to have a friend, Gloria, visit them and share information and materials.  Indeed this new group is the fruits of great sacrifice and many prayers from all our members especially the children who meet in our groups throughout the world.  As more and more groups form we are all blanketed in more and more prayers.  As such prayers are multiplied one can imagine Our Blessed Mother humbly presenting them to her Son.  It is a wonderful thought to contemplate the joy in heaven from so many prayers of children.

One also becomes hopeful to see the future of Our Church: the children.  As they meet together in prayer with rosaries in hand, one sees them growing in faith and holiness under the watchful eye of their Blessed Mother.
