As a little gift to all those making a Consecration to Jesus through Mary using our new book "Child Consecration: To Jesus through Mary—Following in the Spirit of St. Thérèse, the Little Flower" I prayed a Rosary for all of you today, in a special way entrusting you to Our Blessed Mother.

Thank you all for joining in this journey to Jesus through Mary. For those who are new to the book, more information can be found at https://childconsecration.com

Procession in Honor of Our Lady of Lourdes

The Children's Rosary (Rosaire des Enfants) at Sacred Heart Parish in Seychelles shared these beautiful pictures. Members of the Children's Rosary group participated in their Parish procession in honor of Our Lady of Lourdes on February 10th. The group leader explained that in Seychelles each parish is given a Feast. Their parish was blessed to receive two: the Feast of the Sacred Heart and the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes. For these Parish Feasts the Bishop usually presides at the Mass.
Bishop Denis Weihe and their Parish Priest Father Landry are shown in the photo above walking in the procession. Individuals from around the island came and participated in the procession. The members of the Children's Rosary can be seen holding baskets with rose petals which they showered over a statue of Our Lady during the procession. The children are wearing blue or white scarves that were made by the group leader.

The procession concluded with Benediction at the Parish Grotto where there is a statue of Our Lady of Lourdes.  We thank the Children's Rosary in Seychelles for sharing these pictures and the wonderful tradition on their Island which honors Our Lady of Lourdes. It is beautiful to see so many children participating.

160th Anniversary of the First Apparitions in Lourdes

February 11th 2018 marks the 160th anniversary of the first apparitions in Lourdes. We will be celebrating the Feast by holding our monthly Children's Rosary at St. Thomas the Apostle Parish in West Hartford, Connecticut at 9:45 AM ET. We will then travel to the Shrine of Divine Mercy for Adoration and Mass. There will be an Anointing of the Sick after Mass in honor of the Feast. The Mass will begin at 2PM. Please know I will be praying for all the members of the Children's Rosary during the visit to the Shrine.  Many groups have shared that they are holding special meetings tomorrow to honor the Feast.

February 11th is also the anniversary of the release of our Children's Rosary theme song: Rosary Children. You will notice a different date of release on the video. The reason is that a small typo was present on the original music video for our Spanish Website. Although we currently share this link the original date of release for our song was February 11th 2015.

I hope you enjoy the picture above. This was a surprise gift from one of my son's this evening. He drew it tonight in honor of the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes.

Flowers for Our Lady of Lourdes

Today the children held a Children's Rosary at St. Peter Claver Church.  We brought yellow roses to place before Our Lady at the end of each decade.  One of the children took this picture of the flowers we brought to give Our Lady at the end of the Rosary. These roses like our prayers we give with love to our Heavenly Mother. It brings us joy to imagine her gaze falling upon us as we pray a prayer she herself gave us: the Holy Rosary.  Many Children's Rosary groups met today across the globe.  Over 13 Children's Rosary groups were scheduled to meet on the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes.
Two of those meetings have yet to occur.  You still have time to join the children in prayer. A schedule of the meetings in your local time zone can be found at  www.childrensrosary.org
You can click the join in prayer button and see your gold light added to the light of the children meeting in prayer on our View from Heaven map.

Today also has some additional significance for the Children's Rosary.  It is the two year anniversary since we released our theme song video "Rosary Children".  We thought you might like to see a video we received of a new Children's Rosary group singing the theme song in the Philippines. See the video HERE.

A Lesson From Our Lady of Lourdes

"You have made a mistake," she smiled, "that Rosary is not yours."

One hundred and fifty three years ago to the day St. Bernadette knelt in front of Our Blessed Mother in Lourdes, France.  She prayed the Rosary as Our Lady watched.  However, unlike the visits from Our Lady during prior days Our Blessed Mother noticed something was different and said "You have made a mistake," she smiled, "that Rosary is not yours."  The rosary belonged to a friend of Bernadettes named Pauline Sans.  These were strong words that Our Lady used with Bernadette.  In reflecting on them a feeling comes.  It is Love from Our Mother showing us how dear our rosary’s should be to us.  Over time our own personal rosaries take on a personal expression of love for Our Lady.  Because they have been blessed and have accompanied us on our daily journey here on earth they are a constant reminder of our devotion to Our Mother and her Son and also her love for us.
I am reminded of a day several years ago when I asked one of the women whom I pray a rosary with after daily Mass to bring my rosaries with her to an ordination to be blessed by a bishop.  She agreed and after praying the Rosary I gave her my wooden rosary beads I purchased at age 13.  It was a Friday morning.  Over the weekend I used another pair of rosaries but thought often about my wooden pair.  On the Monday morning I was entering church I saw this friend of mine.  I asked her how the ordination had been and she politely answered well.  Moments later as I was walking down the hallway to the chapel I heard her scream.  She was praising the Lord.  Hurrying back to her I asked what had happened.  Apparently, she had lost my rosary beads and had prayed with another friend all weekend that she would find them.  Her friend prayed with her and tried to reassure her that they would be found.  Upon entering the church she saw my rosaries hanging over a banaster in an area rarely used to display lost items.  When I heard of her suffering over the weekend as a result of the loss of the rosaries and the amazing discovery of them that morning I was overwhelmed at what a gift from God these rosaries were.  It was as if Our Lady had placed them safely in my hand.  From that moment on I began to feel about my rosaries as someone does about such things as a wedding ring.  If a fire were to start in ones home and you could take only one thing what would it be.  The answer for me would be my rosary beads.
Dear Mary thank you as a mother for showing us how special our rosary beads are for us.  Please pray that we may always keep them close to our hearts. Amen

St. Bernadette
