A Mass Was Offered on October 1, 2024 for Seminarians

A Mass was offered on October 1, 2024, for all seminarians that they will grow in holiness and lead us all in love. Every month, we have a Mass offered for this intention. As our seminarians will be the future shepherds and our children will be their future flock, it seemed a beautiful way for the children to help with their prayers. Each month we try to feature a seminarian. This month we would like to feature four young men who are attending the Sacred Heart Minor Seminary Lacor in the Amuru District in Northern Uganda.

The young men are photographed above with Fr. Okot of St. Mary's Kitgum Mission Parish in the Gulu Archdiocese of Uganda.  This is a northern diocese near the border with South Sudan. Fr. Okot has asked these young men to help him begin Children's Rosary prayer groups throughout his parish. St. Mary's Kitgum Parish has not only the main Church but many outposts to help serve people who live at a distance.

We ask for prayers for these men and also that their efforts to begin Children's Rosary prayer groups will be fruitful. As we enter the month of the Rosary, it is beautiful to see the devotion of the Rosary being passed to the next generation of children and priests. We also celebrate the Feast of St. Thérèse de Lisieux who discerned her vocation early and was allowed to enter religious life at the age of 15.

Making a Consecration Journey to Jesus through Mary in the Spirit of St Thérèse

The Rodriguez family used the book Child Consecration: To Jesus through Mary—Following in the Spirit of St. Thérèse, the Little Flower to make their Consecration to Jesus through Mary. The book approaches Consecration using the "Little Way" of St. Thérèse, which includes a spirituality of simplicity, confidence and trust.

This journey can be made by adults and children!
