Mass Offered Today for Members of the Children's Rosary

Children's Rosary of St. Michael the Archangel Parish in
Langatta Nairobi, Kenya. The children meet each Saturday in Kibera slum.
Today a Mass was offered by the Capuchin Friars for all the members of the Children's Rosary and all those who help the Children's Rosary.  We continue to have a Mass said for the this intention on the 25th of each month. The Eucharist is such a powerful gift from Our Lord that when I wanted to extend thanksgiving to you all I knew of no better way to express my gratitude.  May Our Lord's love be poured down on all of you through the powerful sacrifice of the Holy Mass.

Hear From the Children

Recently we received some feedback from the children who are members of the Children's Rosary in Pakistan.  These children meet daily as a Children's Rosary prayer group.  These children pray in the Church but also have felt called to go and pray with the poor and sick families each day.  The children share what this has meant to them.

Maryam!
I am youngest in my siblings, since I have joined Rosary Group my life is changed I get up early in the morning and start my day with prayer. My family wonders that how it has happened... I was a lazy girl and not good at prayers but now they see different good changes in me... Babu Chand invited me to join Rosary Group and gave me a Rosary to keep with me all the time... Now I feel that God wants something to be done by my hands... and I am trying to give my best for that,,,....

Yashwa!
When I take part in the prayer which is for a sick person,.... I feel that words are dropping spontaneously from my mouth. I am very happy to join Rosary Group and I daily wait for the time when we get together and recite Rosary....

Muskan!
Earlier I was finding it hard because I did not know the mysteries of Rosary but with the passage of time I learned them by heart and now I am happy and go for reciting Rosary door to door daily and attend the prayer for the sick people.....

It is beautiful to see how participating in this prayer group has helped these children so much and in different ways for the good.

The Children's Rosary is spreading in a grassroots way from region to region and country to country.  Please help us reach your parish.

Going Out To Pray With the Poor

The Children's Rosary groups continues to grow in Pakistan with a second Children's Rosary group in St. Joseph Church in Ashraf Town.  This group meets daily. The children of this group felt moved to not only meet and pray in the Church but also to go out and pray with the sick and also the poor families.  As they go out each day to pray with a different family they share the very little they have giving away the rosaries that have been shared with them.  The group leader has told us that these families are so grateful for the rosaries.  The children check in with the families they have prayed with and they find the families are continuing to say the Rosary daily.  The children are slowly transforming this town with their prayers and the joy and comfort they bring.
The picture above is of an older man whom the children prayed with one afternoon.  The children all gathered before him kneeling together to pray.
The Children's Rosary in Pakistan is a beautiful unfolding story.  Please see how it all began and continues to spread.

Children's Rosary to Air Today on EWTN Global Catholic Network

We are very excited that EWTN will be airing the Children's Rosary today (August 18th) at 4:30 PM ET in  the United States and Canada.  We are very grateful that EWTN has added the Children's Rosary to its monthly programming schedule.

Upcoming dates have been released through September:

August 18th Children's Rosary Sorrowful Mysteries at 4:30 PM ET
September 3rd Children's Rosary Luminous Mysteries at 4:30 PM ET
(We anticipate the Glorious Mysteries to be shown in October)

The Children's Rosary can be viewed LIVE streaming from anywhere in the world today at 4:30 PM ET LINK
Many have helped to make these videos a reality.  Children and members from around the world have prayed for the completion and release of these videos as they represent a window into a Children's Rosary prayer group.  Few adults can remember growing up as a child in a prayer group.  Yet children have a large capacity for prayer and have a need for their prayer life to be supported.  We hope that these new videos show the beauty and deep faith that exists in the hearts of children and the simplicity and love they bring to prayer.  We hope many hearts will be touched by the innocence of these little ones.

A special thank you to Jim Morlino of Navis Pictures for filming our Children's Rosary video series. We also thank Robert Fertitta for contributing many beautiful photographs of stained glass windows for the Sorrowful Video which will air today.

We plan to release a Children's Rosary DVD by October 1st which will contain all four mysteries shown on EWTN plus an additional bonus instructional video of how to begin a Children's Rosary prayer group and how to organize your first meeting with answers to frequently asked questions. Please continue to keep the completion of the DVD in your prayers.

If you are from another country other than the United States and Canada and would like to have the Children's Rosary air in your country please reach out to EWTN and request it.  They are very responsive to viewer requests.  We also encourage those who enjoy the Children's Rosary to let EWTN know of your feelings.  This is new programming for them and they value the feedback.

Celebrating the Solemnity of the Assumption of Mary

Yesterday we had many Children's Rosary groups meeting around the world.  This was such a beautiful gift to Our Blessed Mother on a day honoring her Assumption into Heaven.  Our Children's Rosary in Tacloban City, Philippines sent a picture from their meeting.  This group is composed of children that survived the super typhoon Yolanda that hit their region of the Philippines in November of 2013.  Many of the children lost family members and also their homes.  They have known great suffering but they also have a great faith and love of Our Blessed Mother and her Son.  The children all came together for their fourth meeting of the Children's Rosary since beginning on May 16th 2015.

Many Children's Rosary groups will be meeting this week and we humbly invite you to join them in prayer.  The children always pray for those unifying prayers with them.

"It is Not the Will of Your Heavenly Father that One of These Little Ones Be Lost"

This was part of the Gospel reading Tuesday at Mass.  The full Gospel is so beautiful but this little part seemed to grab hold of my heart.

This is such a special gift Our Lord gives us.  He gives us the opportunity to all make it to heaven.  Unlike many things in this world there is no competition, no quota of losers.  Such a mentality is something I came to know during my four years of training in dental school. Unlike many dental schools the one I attended was pass/ fail.  There was a hope that we all could pass.  This created a very unique atmosphere of team work.  We all pooled our knowledge, helping to share notes or approaches to learn the material.  We all wanted each other to make it through.  Although the four years were indeed rigorous we rarely felt alone going through it.

Our Lord shows us that getting to heaven is attainable for everyone.  He doesn't desire that anyone be lost.  He gives us each other for support.  He teaches us the power and strength of praying together, a Gospel we also heard this week at Mass.

Indeed our journey here on earth is difficult but as Our Lord said, "it is not the will of your Heavenly Father that one of the these little ones be lost"( Mt 18:14).  Yes we can all make it!! There is no quota of souls that must fail. Recently at Mass I heard a priest say, We don't make it to heaven or hell alone we always take someone else with us.  Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could make it to heaven and bringing with us a great many souls.
Yes, in many ways it is my hope that the Children's Rosary will be a place where children can come together to pray and be that support for each other.  It is my hope that together we may end our journey in the embrace of Our Lord and find our dear ones there with us.

Having been in a prayer group as an adult, I have experienced those dark times of suffering and struggle when you feel the weight of the cross on your shoulders and the voices of those praying around you are the most comforting sounds you could hear.  When you feel your own strength too weak to say the prayers aloud so you rely on your friends in the group to carry you.

There were times of uncertainty and illness when a person in the group would say they were praying for me and that brought such comfort, hope and overwhelming gratitude.  It is at such a time that knowing another person is praying for you creates a spring of hope in ones soul. One is humbled to know that others are taking their time to pray in a special way for you alone.  Yes this is what a prayer group can do for a soul suffering.  We know each of us will be given a cross and to have others there to support us in this journey is a safety net.  Our children today need a safety net like never before.  They need to know that someone is praying for them and in turn they can offer prayers to another person when they see someone suffering.  A prayer group creates such an atmosphere of support.

Our children need that same support.  Our Lord wants not one of these little ones to be lost.

What Will Be My Reward?

Recently one of our Children's Rosary groups shared that a little girl attending the Children's Rosary for the first time asked, "What will be my reward for saying the Rosary?"  Another little girl, age 7, also attending the Children's Rosary turned to her and said, "you get Jesus!"

We have many Children's Rosary groups meeting over the next week.  Please consider joining them.  The children always pray for those unifying prayers with them.

Little Hands Rescue Jesus and Mary

Over the past week we have been sharing some of our experiences at this years Catholic Marketing Network Conference.  The final day we had a surprise discovery just as the conference was wrapping up.

The kids were beginning to gather our materials at the Children's Rosary booth.  Looking over to one of the other booths I noticed a large statue of Our Lady of Guadalupe laying under a table.  I went over to have a closer look.  Our Lady was broken and pieces lay scattered around.  There was no way to stand her upright.  I quickly asked if she was intended for the trash and if so could we take her.  The man running that booth was not there but the man running the booth adjacent to that one was there.  Both vendors had traveled from Mexico to bring religious materials.  The owner of this statue of Our Lady of Guadalupe had a sad story. Over 75% of the statues that he had shipped from his store in Mexico had been smashed in transit.  There was a suspicion that the customs officials may have thought there were drugs inside.

The children and I were so sad to hear this.  Our hearts went out to the man running the booth.   When he returned he was more than happy to give the children all the remaining broken statues.  He was very kind to the children and even gave them a special Rosary with Our Lady of Guadalupe and an unbroken Crucifix.  We were overwhelmed by his kindness and humbly shared with him some of Spanish Children's Rosary materials.  He graciously accepted them and told us he would share them in his home country of Mexico.

The children excitedly set to work.  Some of the pieces of the broken statues had been discarded and were missing but the children gathered everything they could find.  It was beautiful to see the care they took with Our Lady.  There were several other precious treasurers.  We also found the head of the Child Jesus.  His body was missing. My son Kostin immediately picked up the Child Jesus and announced that he would take care of him.  He said he would wrap him up with a blanket so no one would know he was broken.  Asher also was helping to gather two baby Jesus statues that were missing fingers and two broken angels.

Repair of Our Lady
The little hands of the children quickly had gathered everything together and now it was time to pack it carefully up to make the trip home.  Our Lady of Guadalupe was so magnificent even despite the damage.  The kids were so excited to bring the angels, Jesus and Mary home and fix them up.

Upon arriving home, Kostin immediately took the Child Jesus' head up to his room and returned with Him all wrapped up.  He was clutching him to his chest and holding him tight to his heart.  He was so protective of the child.  It was true no one could tell the child Jesus was missing his body.  The hands of a child had wrapped him up safe and with love.  There was no body to repair but there was a feeling Our Lord was comforted.

The next project was the home repair of Mary, the two Baby Jesus statues and the Angels.  Everything was set out and the process of piecing all the fragments together began. Slowly Our Lady began to come together piece by piece.  Her base was re-attached and she was once again able to stand.  One piece however was never found.

Yet her beauty is so great that no one seemed to notice the missing piece beneath her feet.  The little baby Jesus statues were repaired with the two fingers extended as a sign of peace restored.
It is hard to imagine Our Lady with her uncertain future broken under a table
had the children not come to her rescue
The two angels both got their wings again.  One angel had such extensive damage he cannot kneel but his wings are in place.  The second angel was completely restored. There was so much joy in the hearts of the children.  They loved helping Mary, Jesus and the Angels.  They put the pieces back together and those that couldn't be put back were lovingly held and cared for.  In so many ways I could see how the children in their innocence and love are able to comfort Our Blessed Mother and Jesus.  Even the angels must take delight in the care of the children.  Our world in some ways is very harsh with drugs and violence leaving many broken.  And yet little ones have a way of bringing back joy and peace.  They have a healing way about them.  Maybe it is their simplicity and hope. Indeed it would seem the little hands of children will play an important role in mending that which is broken.
The Angel got his wings
