Patiently Waiting Campaign 2016

We would like to humbly invite you to join the Children's Rosary by putting a sign in your window as a beautiful reminder of where our hearts can be found as we prepare ourselves for the coming of Christ. After you put a sign in your window take a picture of it and post it on social media or your Facebook page.  Challenge a friend to do the same. Email us a picture of the sign in your window and we will feature them.

Several years ago, I was walking past a home and such a sign was in the window. It caught my attention.  Each time I walked past it each day, I looked at it and was grateful for it. To see the sign made me happy inside. I wondered who put such a sign in their window.  Later I would find out it was a wonderfully holy priest.  After his passing many shared how special this little sign was to them. It was so simple and gentle, but it sent a ripple out into the community, a joyful one that is still moving in my heart years later even after the soul who placed it in his window has passed on.  What if each of us put a sign in our windows?  Speckles of love sprinkled all over the world. Wouldn't it be wonderful to find out?

Today in the first reading at Mass it begins,
"Be patient, brothers and sisters, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient with it until it receives the early rains.  You too must be patient. Make your hearts firm, because the coming of the Lord is at hand. (James 5:7-8).

This is the third year members of the Children's Rosary have placed signs in our windows. We hope many will join us this year and make it a yearly tradition.  On Christmas day the signs come down and are replaced with ones that say: Christ is Born.  We have had people ask us what we are waiting for in the past. What a wonderful question to be asked? It may seem so obvious to us but to many they simply do not know what Christmas is about anymore...especially children. How sad if they never hear why we have Christmas and only think it is about Santa Claus.

We are including a sign that one of the members of the Children's Rosary put up last year. It is patiently waiting sign written in German. The sign hung in a window in Belgium.
We also had our Children's Rosary group in Quito, Ecuador send us a picture of them holding a sign saying, Esperando Pacientemente (patiently waiting) in Spanish.  Indeed it is beautiful to see the effort spreading to different corners of the world and in different languages.
