Over 1,200 Children Attend Children's Rosary Event

On September 16, 2023, over 1,200 children who are part of the Children's Rosary gathered at Mulajje Parish in Luweero Diocese for the launching of the Children's Rosary in the main Parish and all twenty-one sub parishes. This was a gathering of children and two Children's Rosary group leaders from each sub parish. A Mass was celebrated by Fr. Joseph Mukasa Balikuddembe shown below.

Also in attendance was Fr. Gerald Wamala of Mulajje Parish shown below.

A video of the special day can be viewed HERE or in the embedded video above. At time mark 41:10, Fr. Joseph Mukasa Balikuddembe and the children can be heard singing the theme song for the Children's Rosary which is called Rosary Children.

The children were able to make personal Consecrations to Jesus through Mary during the special day. Children came forward in groups and knelt before the altar and said their Consecration prayers and said their names aloud. There were six groups of children. The children lit candles to represent their Consecration. The children were prayed for by the priests.

A special thank you to Dr. Rev. Gerald Wamala, the animators (group leaders), catechists, parents, teachers, and the other priests of the parish for their support of the Children's Rosary. A special thank you to Br. Henry Bukenya and Madame Betty Nakayenga for their coordination of these efforts along with so many volunteers, including the Chairperson and the religious of the parish. Thank you to Br. Peter as well. Cooking progressed through the night preceding the event and was well received by the children and those in attendance. A thank you to Fr. Joseph Mukasa Balikuddembe for celebrating the Mass and leading the children in song, including the theme song for the Children's Rosary. Thank you to Fr. Tadeo Ssemanda who initially helped to introduce the Children's Rosary in the parish over 4 years ago. The Children's Rosary now is very strong in the parish and includes every sub parish!

A thank you to all the parents who granted permission for the children to attend the event and for their children to make their own personal Consecration.

Thank you to those who helped with transportation at the event. There were at least three buses that helped to bring group leaders and children from the rural sub parishes to the main parish for the day's events.
Br. Amans helped with music at the event along with the Children's Rosary group choir of St. Peter's Bamunanika featured below. A special thank you to them as well.

The day was full of joy and blessings and we thank all who helped it come to fruition.
