Patiently Waiting Campaign 2018

This Advent Place a Patiently Waiting Sign
 in Your Window
Join the Children's Rosary by putting a sign in your window as a beautiful reminder of where our hearts can be found as we prepare ourselves for the coming of Christ. On Christmas replace the sign with one that reads: Christ is Born.

Fourth Anniversary of the Patiently Waiting Campaign

If you have a Children's Rosary in your school we invite you to have the children make signs in class and have them bring them home to put in their windows. The picture above was sent to us from a school in New Jersey last year.

We have included a flyer for this year. Consider posting this at your parish or school. The flyer can be saved to your computer by right clicking on the image below and clicking save. This can then be printed. Alternatively, if you would like us to email you the pdf please write to blythe@childrensrosary.org

Send us a Picture
We invite people to send us a picture of their Patiently Waiting sign in their window. Please include in the email where you live. We hope to feature some of these on our website. Pictures can be sent to: blythe.kaufman@gmail.com

Invitation to Everyone
We should note that the Patiently Waiting Campaign is an invitation to adults and children. One does not have to be involved with the Children's Rosary to participate.

The story behind the Patiently Waiting Campaign:
A number of years ago, I was walking past a home and in the window a sign read: Patiently Waiting.  It caught my attention.  Each time I walked past it each day I looked at it and was grateful for it. To see the sign made me happy inside. I wondered who put such a sign in their window.  Later I would find out it was a wonderfully holy priest.  After his passing, many shared how special this little sign was to them. It was so simple but it sent a ripple out into the community, a joyful one that is still moving in my heart years later even after the soul who placed it in his window has passed on.  This made me wonder, what if each of us put a sign in our windows?  What would be the effect...these speckles of love sprinkled all over the world. It was from this thought that the Patiently Waiting Campaign was born.

Immaculate Conception Novena November 29, 2018-December 7, 2018

In anticipation of the Feast of the Immaculate Conception (December 8th) consider saying this Novena from November 29th through December 7th.The following is the same prayer being said during the Novena at the National Shrine of The Divine Mercy.
Immaculate Conception Novena

Father, You prepared the Virgin Mary to be the worthy Mother of Your Son. You let her share beforehand in the salvation Christ would bring by His death, and kept her sinless from the first moment of her conception.

Help us by her prayers to live in Your presence without sin. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.
Amen.

(NCCB, Sacramentary, December 8: Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, (p. 752-753).

In a special way we would like invite those joining us to pray for peace. In addition to the prayer listed above, we invite you to also say the Consecration prayers daily to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary listed on our favorite prayers page HERE

Thank you for joining us in this Novena. We will be praying for all those who are joining us before a first class relic of Bl. Stanislaus Papczynski, founder of the Marians of the Immaculate Conception. Bl Stanislaus frequently spoke and gave homilies about Mary's Immaculate Conception. We will be asking for his intercession through the course of this Novena.

Thank you and may God Bless you. Amen

Church Teaching on the Immaculate Conception:

“Through the centuries the Church has become ever more aware that Mary, 'full of grace' through God, was redeemed from the moment of her conception. That is what the dogma of the Immaculate Conception confesses, as Pope Pius IX proclaimed in 1854:

The most Blessed Virgin Mary was, from the first moment of her conception, by a singular grace and privilege of almighty God and by virtue of the merits of Jesus Christ, Savior of the human race, preserved immune from all stain of original sin”. (Catechism of the Catholic Faith, 491).

33 Day Consecration to Jesus Through Mary (November 29th 2018-January 1st 2019)

The Children's Rosary humbly invites you to participate in a 33 Day Total Consecration to Jesus through Mary.  Our Children’s Rosary groups are Consecrated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary at their first meeting. Once a year we invite members to do a personal Consecration. For those of you unfamiliar with Consecration to Jesus through Mary it has been blessed and supported by Cardinal Justin Rigali, Bishops and Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI. St. John Paul II urged Catholics to make this Act of Entrustment, which involves ten minutes of private prayer daily, for 33 days, in your home.  Many may be familiar with Totus Tuus which was John Paul’s papal motto. It is a Latin phrase meaning "totally yours" and expressed his personal Consecration to Jesus through Mary.

The 33 Day Consecration prayers traditionally precede a Marian Feast and the Feast that we will be saying our Consecration on is January 1st - the Feast of Mary Mother of God.  Therefore we will begin our prayers on November 29th

The traditional Consecration prescribed by St. Louis de Montfort can be used free online:  St. Louis de Montfort Consecration

For those who have made their Consecration already it is a wonderful practice to renew your Consecration each year.

God Bless you all.

Spiritually Inspired Christmas Gifts: Day 1

REMEMBERING THE HOLY SOULS
Today we would like to begin 9 days of ways to give this Christmas.  Our focus will be on Christ.
As we are still in the month honoring the Holy Souls this seemed an appropriate way to begin. The Catechism of the Catholic Church encourages the faithful to help the souls that have gone before us. "The Church in its pilgrim members, from the very earliest days of the Christian religion, has honored with great respect the memory of the dead; and 'because it is a holy and a wholesome thought to pray for the dead that they may be loosed from their sins' she offers her suffrages for them. Our prayer for them is capable not only of helping them, but also of making their intercession for us effective". (CCC958) One of the most efficacious ways to help the Holy Souls is through having Masses celebrated for them.

Did you know that since October 7, 2017 the Children's Rosary has tried to have 2 Masses offered daily for the Holy Souls in Purgatory? With the exception of several small gaps, we have been successfully able to continue this effort through November of this year. We wish to continue but there is an ongoing cost to requesting Masses. Please consider making a donation to help us continue having Masses said for the Holy Souls in Purgatory.
Donations can be made online HERE or checks can be made out to Children's Rosary and sent to:

Children's Rosary
PO Box 271743
West Hartford CT 06127 USA

The Holy Souls are grateful for any help we can render them. They in turn remember us in prayer. As these souls enter Heaven they will be our advocates before Our Lord. A Christmas gift to help the Holy Souls brings them joy but also joy to Our Lord as these souls are beloved by God and kindness shown to them is meritorious.
Thank you for your generosity kindness!

Mass Offered on November 25th 2018 for Members of the Children's Rosary

Happy Feast of Christ the King!

A Mass was offered today for all the members of the Children's Rosary and all who help the Children's Rosary.  We continue to have a Mass said for the this intention on the 25th of each month. The Eucharist is such a powerful gift from Our Lord that when I wanted to extend thanksgiving to all of you I knew of no better way to express my gratitude.  May Our Lord's love be poured down on all of you through the powerful sacrifice of the Holy Mass.

The picture above was taken during a visit, of several members of the Children's Rosary, to the Major Relic Pilgrimage of the Incorrupt Heart of the Cure of Ars. While the children were kneeling, we prayed together for all the members of the Children's Rosary and all who help the Children's Rosary. We also asked for the intercession of St. Jean Vianney in protecting the purity of the children who are part of the Children's Rosary. It is our hope that these Masses and prayers will continue to help us all on the road to sanctity. St Jean Vianney is a witness of holiness. The icon that is depicted above the relic of St. Jean Vianney is particularly beautiful especially in person. In a very tender way he holds the Crucifix. For Christ the King is not in some lofty place, He is a Crucified Lord. He embodies humility something St. Jean Marie Baptiste Vianney understood and witnessed so beautifully.

* A special thank you to Ann Ziluck who took the pictures shown above and sent them to us.

Our Sunday Visitor Features Children's Rosary

This week Our Sunday Visitor (OSV) published an article featuring the Children's Rosary. We wanted to humbly share the link to the electronic version HERE.

Haven't Found a Christmas Card this Year? We Have a Perfect One for You

Please consider this year sending out our new Children's Rosary Christmas card. This was painted by Abigail, a 10 year old member of the Children's Rosary. Great love was put into this card. The color is exquisite and there is a tenderness in the faces of the angels as they pay homage to the Baby Jesus. The message inside reads:

May Jesus be born in your heart this Christmas
and may He grant you joy and peace.

The back of the card has an invitation to join the children in prayer and includes our website. It is a beautiful way to gently yet powerfully evangelize. With so many children praying in Children's Rosary prayer groups, these simple cards are a way for the children to reach souls. Their prayers are powerful. We also invite you to say a prayer for the person who will receive the card as you address it. Let us touch souls and help to draw them to prayer this Christmas. Thank you all and may God bless you.

* Note that there is a watermark on the image above that says Children's Rosary. This is not present on the cards.

Our Lady Needs Open Doors

Recently, I was speaking with a Children’s Rosary group leader. She was sharing how she recently has felt inspired to gift a rosary to people she meets.  She carries a rosary ready to give away so if she meets someone and there is an opportunity to offer a rosary she is ready. She also gives them something explaining how to pray the Rosary. She explained that Our Lady needs open doors and when you give someone a rosary you open the door for Our Lady.

In a similar spirit, over the summer we started putting Children’s Rosary books on a table by the Chapel. We had received permission to do this. We were surprised to see how fast they would go. We do not know who took them but we trust Our Lord and Our Lady can use these open doors.

We would like to humbly invite individuals to consider purchasing a 10 pack of our Children’s Rosary books and putting some out in your Adoration Chapel or carrying one with you. Watch for an opportunity to give it to someone. You will be surprised how fast opportunities present themselves.

Another opportunity to reach loved ones is through your Christmas card. When you send your cards make sure to say a prayer for the person or family who will receive your card. Consider buying a box of Children’s Rosary Christmas cards. They have a very sweet painting of the Baby Jesus on the cover. On the back is an invitation to join the children in prayer with our Children’s Rosary website.

These little efforts open doors for Our Lady and Our Lord. Consider some of these ideas as little spiritual gifts this Advent.

THIS IS THE LINK TO OUR CHILDREN’S ROSARY COLLECTION.

Our Children’s Rosary cards and books can be ordered there. THANK YOU ALL AND MAY GOD BLESS YOU.

Incorrupt Heart of St. Jean Vianney

Today we were able to venerate the incorrupt heart of the Cure of Ars. This was part of a Major Relic pilgrimage sponsored by the Knights of Columbus. A small group of members of the Children's Rosary were able to visit New Haven, Connecticut. This is approximately 1 hour from our home.

Our little trip began with Mass at St. Mary's Church in New Haven. There we were also able to pray at the tomb of Ven Fr. McGivney, the founder of the Knights of Columbus. I prayed for all the members of the Children's Rosary at the tomb of Ven. Fr McGivney.

We then visited the Knights of Columbus Museum. Upon entering, we immediately went to see the relic of St. Jean Vianney. There was a large crowd when we arrived. We prayed there and then visited the Christmas in Poland Exhibit also at the Museum.

When the crowds had left, we returned to pray before the relic. Our small group was composed of two families with three children total. We prayed together in a special way before the relic for all the members of the Children's Rosary and all who help the Children's Rosary. We also asked for the intercession of St. Jean Vianney to protect the purity of the children who are part of the Children's Rosary. St. Vianney was a champion of protecting purity and we implored his help in this regard. We took you all with us today. You were in our prayers.

It was a special blessing to be able to visit this Major relic tour. It was the kindness of another Children's Rosary group leader who offered to drive which allowed us the grace to attend. A special thank you to her. With my own joint disability, traveling even locally is often a challenge as I do not drive. Yet, God is so good that He sends the kindest of people to help us.

The heart relic of St. Jean Vianney will visit cathedrals, churches, chapels and seminaries, from November 2018 to early June 2019.
God bless you all.

Materials leave for Emmaus Catholic Mission Today!

Today a package was sent out to Emmaus Catholic Mission in Hola, Kenya. We received word from Fr. Nasamaka that he hopes to initiate a Children's Rosary there during the first weekend in Advent. He hopes to begin groups at St. Joseph Primary School and the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish in Emmaus. As Christmas approaches, it is exciting to imagine bringing these new Children's Rosary groups to the Baby Jesus.

We have a list of individuals in various parts of the world who want to begin groups but need materials. If you would like to sponsor a package many children would be very grateful.

Donations can be made electronically HERE.
Checks can also be made out to Children's Rosary and sent to:
Children's Rosary

Thank you for your generosity and kindness.

First Snowfall This Year

This evening around 5 PM the snow began to fall. It has intensified and now all the roads have a layer of snow covering them. It is always particularly exciting to see the first snow each season.

My kids took some pictures of our street and also looking up towards the sky. There is something majestic about a new layer of fresh snow covering everything. Some of the children who are part of the Children's Rosary never get to experience snow since they live in warm climates such as regions of Africa. We love to share these pictures as it is a witness of the beauty of God's creation and may bring smiles to some little ones' faces.

Before the snow began, we were able to send out several boxes. One of the boxes went to Uruguay where there is interest in spreading the Children's Rosary in the city of Montevideo. Please keep these efforts in your prayers as many are trying to initiate groups in their parishes and schools.

EWTN Radio Conference 2018

Last week we attended the EWTN Radio Conference in Birmingham, Alabama. We had a Children's Rosary Booth at the Conference. Our purpose for attending was to make available free to radio stations programming the Children's Rosary has produced.

It is our hope that through the soft, sweet, innocent voices of children that many hearts may be touched all for the glory of God.

If you have a local Catholic Radio station consider reaching out to them. Invite them to air our Children's Rosary.
We have various free programming available to stations:
*Children's Rosary (Joyful, Sorrowful, Luminous and Glorious Mysteries)
* Four different Litanies
*Short and Long Chaplet of Divine Mercy recorded by members of the Children's Rosary.
* Our most recent addition that we released at the radio conference is our new Spanish Children's Rosary.

It gives us great joy to make these recordings available to stations. Each airing provides an avenue for the children to evangelize.  Through each child that is part of the Children's Rosary they add their prayers to this movement. The prayers of so many children call down grace that brings a multitude of fruits in many hearts even the ones that are the most hardened.

If you would like more information about airing the Children's Rosary on a radio station please contact Blythe at blythe@childrensrosary.org
The Children's Rosary can be heard each day on EWTN Radio Classics streaming HERE at 4:30 PM ET.

God bless you all.

Visit to the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament in Alabama USA

This week we were in Alabama and visited the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament on Wednesday. We were able to meet with the cloistered sisters. The picture above is of Asher and Mother Dolores. We invited the sisters to add their light to our View from Heaven map and unify in prayers with the children.

Please know that I prayed for all the members of the Children's Rosary and all who help the Children's Rosary during Mass and also at the tomb of Mother Angelica the foundress of EWTN.
