The Month of October is Dedicated to the Rosary

The Month of October is dedicated to the Rosary.  The practice of the rosary dates back to 1106 when Mary reportedly appeared to St. Dominic and gave him the rosary as a weapon against the heretics of the time.  Saints and Popes have extolled the devotion to the Holy Rosary.

"Give me an army saying the Rosary and I will conquer the world."
-Saint Pope Pius IX

"The Rosary is my favourite prayer. A marvellous prayer! Marvellous in its simplicity and in its depth. . .the simple prayer of the Rosary beats the rhythm of human life."
Pope John Paul II.

"Never will anyone who says his Rosary every day be led astray. This is a statement that I would gladly sign with my blood."
Saint Louis de Montfort

“Just as two friends, frequently in each other’s company, tend to develop similar habits, so too, by holding familiar converse with Jesus and the Blessed Virgin, by meditating on the mysteries of the Rosary and by living the same life in Holy Communion, we can become, to the extent of our lowliness, similar to them and can learn from these supreme models a life of humility, poverty, hiddenness, patience and perfection.”
-Blessed Bartolo Longo

“To recite the Rosary is nothing other than to contemplate with Mary the face of Christ.” Rosarium Virginius Mariae, Pope John Paul II Oct 16 2002
