A Gift to Our Holy Father Who is in Need of our Support

Please consider adding your name to our letter and gift to be sent to Our Holy Father this Friday

VATICAN CITY (AP) Pope Benedict is said to be "saddened" by the discovery that one of his closest aides, Paolo Gabriele, 46, his valet or butler (photo, Gabriele, the butler, helping the Pope to adjust his red cape), has betrayed his trust, copying and disseminating secret Vatican documents from the Pope's own apartments.

The words from the gospel today echo in light of the hurtful things being said about our Holy Father in the press, and "they will mock him, and spit upon him, and scourge him" (Mark 10:34).  Last week in the gospel, Jesus in prayer says to His Father "the world has hated them because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world".(John 17:14)

As the Vicar of Christ on this Earth Our Holy Father is rejected as Jesus was 2,000 years ago.  We however have a chance as Simon the Cyrenian did to put our shoulder under the cross and lift some of the weight. We can wash his beaten face as our Lady did for her Son.  How can we do this.  We can join together in an effort that I pray will spread like a wildfire across the globe.  Attached is a letter to The Holy Father.  It was a letter written before we knew of the hurt shown to Our Holy Father. It shares with him the efforts of the children's rosary and the prayers that are being said for him.  It also shares in a personal way that we love and support him.  We will be sending this letter Friday June 1st.  I pray that Our Blessed Mother will assist us on her Feast of the Visitation and bring this letter into a great many homes. As we have been praying to be the extended hands of Mary and Jesus this is a moment when we are called to action.  If you would like your name added to this letter comment on this posting or email us at blythe.kaufman@gmail.com  Please include your name, city and country.  If you are including any children's names please include their ages (if you don't want to use last names of children that is fine).  Please share this with as many people as you can.  Anyone can be a member of the children's rosary one only has to tell the Lord in your heart of your desire to join our group. The letter will be sent to our Archbishop who we pray will send this personally to Our Holy Father.  Our Archbishop is aware of the work of the children's rosary and has always been supportive. Please pray that the letter will speedily reach His Holiness.

Thank you all.

God Bless!!

Dear Holy Father,
May I thank God continuously for the gift of having this letter reach your hands and may I in the same breath thank Him if he deems it His Will that it not.  The children’s rosary would like to humbly give you a present.  It is a handmade bookmark made by and 11 year old girl in our group.  It is one of many bookmarks and children’s Bibles given out on Divine Mercy Sunday 2012 when the children were celebrating the 1 year anniversary of our group.  We are dedicating the upcoming year to renewal of family prayer.  To this end we are giving out read aloud children’s Bibles to families and bookmarks to single individuals or those living a consecrated life.  It is our prayer that they will begin family prayer in their homes and begin to read scripture daily.  An inspiration came that these families would need help and guidance as they set out to begin family prayer and reading of scripture.  Just as Jesus sent out the disciples two by two we decided to ask Saints to help these families.  An individual novena was said for each Bible and bookmark for the intention below.
MAY THE CHILDREN’S ROSARY, THEIR FAMILIES, THOSE ASSOCIATED WITH THE CHILDREN’S ROSARY INCLUDING OUR PRIESTS, OUR BISHOP AND OUR HOLY FATHER THE POPE BE THE EXTENDED HANDS OF OUR BLESSED MOTHER AND HER SON.  MAY WE GATHER A GREAT MANY SOULS ESPECIALLY YOUNG PEOPLE FOR THE LORD.  MAY WE EXPERIENCE RENEWAL OF FAMILY PRAYER AND SPREAD IT ACROSS THE GLOBE. IN A SPECIAL WAY WE ASK EACH SAINT TO CHOOSE AN INDIVIDUAL, FAMILY OR A PRIEST, ASSOCIATED WITH OUR CHILDREN’S ROSARY GROUP TO LEAD IN THEIR SPIRITUAL JOURNEY. DEAR SAINT PRAY FOR OUR EXTENDED GROUP THAT WE MAY EMBODY THE VIRTUES YOU EXEMPLIFIED HERE ON EARTH. AMEN
We have asked that the each Saint choose a family, individual or priest to lead in their spiritual journey and a novena to the Holy Spirit was said to inspire the pairing.  The very first bookmark to be chosen on Divine Mercy Sunday was for you.  The Saint that chose to lead you in your spiritual journey was St. Charles Lwanga the martyr from Uganda who is also one of the patron Saints of young people.  The bookmark was chosen at random so not to influence the work of the Holy Spirit.   I happened to recognize the Saint and recalled that one of the little boys in our group who is 8 was the person who said the novena to St. Charles Lwanga.  The little boy, who said the prayers for you also has made it known of his desire to become a priest.  May God’s Will be done in all things as He sees fit. As you can see from the intention which is prayed with each novena that with each novena and rosary, we are praying in a special way for you.  To date we have approximately 255 novenas completed or in progress and daily rosaries are also said for that intention.
The children’s rosary group began in a chapel at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in West Hartford CT USA.  However,  we are now attracting members from the region who come to our monthly rosary.  We recently also started a website www.childrensrosary.blogspot.com which has been viewed by over 4,000 people from 76 countries.  To be a member of the children’s rosary one only has to tell the Lord in their heart of their desire to join our group and then all the novenas and rosaries said daily include them.  We hope in your heart you will join our children’s rosary.  At our monthly rosary the children take turns leading the decades and always conclude with prayers for you Our Holy Father.  So far the children have given out over 160 Bibles and plan to give out many more Bibles and continue our novenas so as to spread renewal of family prayer across the globe.  Fr. Jacob the pastor of Holy Trinity Church in Hartford, an inner city Parish, asked the children’s rosary for Bibles for the families of his parish.  Thirty-five were given to him each with a Saint written inside the cover.  Thirty-five Bibles were given  to a priest in Boston doing hospice counseling.   Over thirty Bibles were given to our second grade class at St. Thomas Apostle School and 25 will be given to the fifth grade class graduating.  Each person who receives a Bible is asked to say the novena to a new saint for another family.  In this way many more families can continue receiving Bibles with prayers said for them. We have begun having weekly Masses said for renewal of family prayer as we know that we will need much help in this endeavor. This is truly only the beginning of our work and we ask only that the Lord will use us to further His plans in this world.  We know that our Church is a living Church and families are the lungs of the Church. If they are strong then our Church will be strong.  We pray that the Lord will use us to be His extended hands and those of His mother so that we may reach out to one family at a time and extend renewal of family prayer across the globe.
Thank you Holy Father for your precious time in reading this letter.  Know that the children and families of the children’s rosary love you, support you, and pray for you daily.  May the Blessed Mother cover you with her mantle of peace and may Jesus protect you and keep you close to His Sacred Heart.
Your dear friends in Christ,
The Children’s Rosary
