"Is Someone in Your Home Expecting a Child?"

We have had our Patiently Waiting sign up during Advent. When my mother was visiting us, a neighbor walking by asked, "is someone in your home expecting a child?"

This sign has created a curiosity as to what our family was waiting for these past 40 days. With the beginning of Christmas on December 25, we will be taking our sign down and replacing it with a sign that reads "Christ is Born". Indeed our family has been expecting a child but maybe not the child others were anticipating. Yet Christmas is about the Christ Child and these are our little efforts to bring Him back to the center of Christmas.
