On the Feast of the Archangels, September 29th 2013 an interview aired on EWTN about the Children's Rosary. The late Fr. Andre Apostoli was the host. In a special way we thank the intercession of the Archangels on their Feast. We also thank God the Father and praise Him as many many people quickly responded to the airing of the show. It seemed with the airing that seeds were flung far and wide. Some took root right away and others seemed to grow years later. Fruit has come through the airing and on a subsequent occasion when it was aired again. Watch the interview that originally aired on September 29th 2013.
The Children's Rosary® is a prayer group movement that was begun out of love for Our Lady and Her Son. Jesus tells us "Truly, I say to you unless you turn and become like children you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven" (Matthew 18:3). The Children's Rosary is an effort to begin in parishes rosary prayer groups composed of children and led by children. Through prayer of the Rosary Our Lady will guide our young people while at the same time sanctify families and Parishes.

9 Day Fast from September 29th through October 7th 2019
Dear Friends,
Every fall we humbly invite members of the Children's Rosary to join together to offer sacrifices to Our Lord. Our time here on earth is just a blink of the eye and for all time we will be grateful we made good use of it. For some of us fasting can take the form of a bread and water fast. Yet for others, this may not be possible due to age or illness and so we invite individuals to prayerfully reflect on what is possible to give up. Even children can find little ways of offering sacrifices.
We humbly would like to invite members of the Children's Rosary to fast these 9 days for Our Lady's intentions and for her plans.
Just as we give Our Blessed Mother our fasting we also entrust to her all our concerns. We are her children. As a tiny child brings all he or she has and gives it to his or her mother, we too do the same. We should not hold back anything that weighs on us. We should freely bring everything to her. There is no fear that she holds anything back for herself: it all goes to her Son, Jesus, but in a way so much more pleasing than if we had given it ourselves. For Our Lady embodies all the virtues perfectly and her gifts are always pleasing.
Please see these days as ones of a beautiful collaboration with the Queen of Heaven. Freely give her everything but take the time to entrust all that concerns you such as your family, your personal sanctification, your parish and also please entrust to her the Children's Rosary.
We thank you for prayerfully considering joining this 9 days of fasting. To summarize, this will begin on September 29th and the last day of fasting will be October 7th. The intention of the fast is for Our Lady's intentions and her plans. We humbly ask you to entrust to Our Lady during this fast the Children's Rosary and a special intention of the founder of the Children's Rosary. Please entrust to Our Lady all the personal concerns you have within your heart. This is a journey of trust and living in a way witnessed through St. Therese, who taught us to always have the confidence of a child. Confidence and trust not in ourselves but in love of Our Heavenly Mother and her Son Jesus.
Thank you all,
Your Friend in Christ,
Blythe

Mass Offered on September 25th 2019 for all the Members of the Children's Rosary
A Mass was offered yesterday for all the members of the Children's Rosary and all who help the Children's Rosary. We continue to have a Mass said for this intention on the 25th of each month. The Eucharist is such a powerful gift from Our Lord that when I wanted to extend thanksgiving to all of you I knew of no better way to express my gratitude. May Our Lord's love be poured down on all of you through the powerful sacrifice of the Holy Mass.

Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross 2019
Today we celebrate the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross and tomorrow we celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Sorrows. The drawing above was given to us by one of the members of the Children's Rosary in Uganda. We treasure these drawings that were shared with us during our trip to Africa. They give a beautiful window into the hearts of these young ones, who through the Rosary, in a special way contemplate Our Lord's Crucifixion and also the suffering Our Lady endured at the foot of the Cross.

Happy Feast of the Holy Name of Mary 2019!
On the Feast of the Holy Name of Mary it seemed a perfect time to share one of the drawings we received from the children during our trip to Africa. The drawing above was done by one of the Children's Rosary members in Uganda. The title begins: Mary Loving Mother. Indeed Our Blessed Mother is a most loving Mother to all of us. While in Uganda, we were able to speak to a priest who has a Children's Rosary in his parish. He is also as we found out an exorcist. I asked him if during exorcisms the evil spirits ever say anything about Mary. He said they do not use her name as it is fire to their tongues. Yet for us who are still on our journey to Heaven calling on the name of Mary brings blessings. We should always remember to call upon Mary in any moments of need.

September 8th 2019: Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary
Today the Catholic Church honors the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Many Children's Rosary groups met today. We thank all the children for making the day extra special for Our Blessed Mother. Surely seeing children meeting throughout the world to pray the Rosary, a prayer so dear to Our Blessed Mother, brings her joy. Like many groups, we had a meeting today. Our Children's Rosary met at the parish of St. Thomas the Apostle in West Hartford, Connecticut USA. My children and I attended 8AM Mass and as our Children's Rosary doesn't start until 9:45 AM we usually have time to say an additional Rosary before setting up for the meeting. We are aware that another Children's Rosary group meets in that time between when our morning Mass ends and our Children's Rosary begins so we try to pray during that time to unify in prayer with the Children's Rosary in South Windsor, Connecticut.
Today at the end of the Rosary we said unified with the other Children's Rosary in South Windsor, Connecticut we saw one of the women of the parish replacing the candles on the altar with new ones. Once the candles get below a certain height they do not fit in the holder and need to be removed. Sometimes they put them out on the table free. Whenever we see them on the table we quickly bring them home. Although we have the tendency to not burn them as they seem so special and we always want to save them for a special day. Today I asked the women for the discarded two candles. She was happy to give them to us and in talking to her we were able to receive 12 more used candles. This was all very exciting. It seemed such a generous gift on the day when we are honoring Our Lady. Indeed it seems She is not outdone in generosity.
Given the large number of candles we now have the kids and I decided we would burn them during our family Rosary each day. Thus in the afternoon today, we began what we hope will be a new tradition. We lit two candles in honor of the 2 millennium since Our Lady's birth. She is over 2,000 years old but the two candles were a tiny way we could remember her many years. The candles added something special to our Rosary at home today. It helped to bring a little more awareness of the special time in prayer. We encourage others to explore what happens to the used candles at your Church. Even small candles can add something special when praying at home especially when you have the family coming together.
Thank you all again for making today special for Our Blessed Mother by bringing children together in prayer. May God bless you.

Update from Cuba
We recently received this update from the Children's Rosary (Rosario de Niños) in Cuba. The individual who helped introduce the Children's Rosary in Cuba is from Argentina and recently was in communication with the Children's Rosary at Our Lady of Charity Parish in Sancti Spiritus, Cuba. She provided a translation of the update below:
One of the ladies told me that it is incredible how there are children who love to go to pray the rosary. They are never missing. They have been on vacation, but they have not stopped going. They are very happy with the group because also the parents of the children participate.
The priest says that: "the Rosario de Niños is the best thing he has in the Parish. Because children move the heart of God, they pray in front the Holy and the Virgin of Fátima. It is a beautiful work that moves God to intervene ... The children capture spiritual things very much and God likes especially listen the innocent".

Sponsor a Box of Rosaries for Nigeria
This year the Children's Rosary has sent out 18,813 rosaries within the United States and to places like Vietnam, Kenya, Tanzania, and Pakistan. Mission packages have been given to priests and religious to help begin groups in India, Haiti and Ghana. We try to do a lot with very little and our approach is to focus on each request we receive and see if we can help that person.
Today we are trying to send out a box of 355 handmade rosaries, 20 Children's Rosary books, 21 welcome packets for schools and 10 welcome packets for Parishes. These will be the seeds for new Children's Rosary groups. We are excited that Fr. Paul Miapkwap has finished his three years of advanced studies in Rome. He had begun a Children's Rosary in his Parish in Nigeria before being sent to Rome. While in Rome, he told many priests and religious about the Children's Rosary and his experiences. He is now returning home to Nigeria and hopes to set to work spreading the Children's Rosary in his home Diocese. We very much would love to send him materials. Our funds however are extremely tight and we are in need of a sponsor for the package. If you are able to help please consider making an online donation or sending one. The cost to send the package and contents is $120. The postage alone is $96.00.
Donations can be made ONLINE or made out to Children's Rosary Inc and mailed to:

Mass Offered for Seminarians on September 1 2019
A Mass was offered today for all seminarians that they will grow in holiness and lead us all in love. Every month we have a Mass offered for this intention. As our seminarians will be the future shepherds and our children are the future flock, it seemed a beautiful way for the children to help.
We have been periodically featuring different seminarians on the first of the month by inviting them to share something of themselves - a beautiful sharing of faith and love of Our Lord. We will be featuring Rev. Seminarian Francis Sserwadda. He is a seminarian from Lugazi Diocese in Uganda. He is studying in a Major Seminary in Kampala and is in Year 2 Philosophy.
Rev. Seminarian Francis Sserwadda
Rev. Seminarian Francis Sserwadda was born on May 16th 1996. His mother died when he was just 6 years old. Finances were very difficult. He was not able to attend a Catholic school due to the fees but instead went to the free Muslim school. Yet he did not forget his Catholic faith. His cousin suggested priesthood but the idea seemed to slip away for some time.
Francis shared an experience while visiting his uncle that had a profound effect on him. His uncle had told him that he would pray for him and then:
"After two days it was around noon when I had come back from the garden. I don't know what took me to my uncle's archive of old religious stuff. Before even washing my feet because I had dust from the garden. When I opened it I looked on the piece of paper which had the heading, "The United Hearts of Jesus and Mary."!! I picked it closed the archive and went and sat in the shade to read through. After reading I was inspired by an unknown power to draft a time table of saying the Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary thrice a day: that's early at 5:00 AM, midday and evening. I did it everyday plus reciting the prayers on the other piece of paper that I got from the archive. This inspired me so much to love the Mother of God in two months."
Francis went on to join the Legion of Mary. This seemed to be a pivotal moment in his vocation journey and as he put it, "ignited my journey to the Seminary". On September 7th 2018 he joined St. Mbaaga's Major Seminary and this year was promoted to second year Philosophy.
We were able to visit Rev. Seminarian Francis Sserwadda during our trip to Uganda. The photo taken above was at our meeting in Jinja at the source of the Nile River. We were able to share with him some rosaries at our meeting. He just recovered from an illness with typhoid and now hopes to begin a new Children's Rosary in his home parish in Lugazi. We ask for your prayers for Rev. Seminarian Francis Sserwadda on his journey to priesthood.
